We have our first special guest! The hilarious Melina joins us to help us learn all about Mexican Witchcraft, AKA Brujeria. In this episode we talk about how the colonisation of Mexico by Catholic invaders forced indigenous beliefs on to the fringes of acceptable society until it became an act of resistance. Today, Brujeria is, for many, a form of reclamation of culture. Many thanks again to Melina for giving us her insight and such a fascinating episode!

Niamh Is back in Europe this episode with a scene-setting of how we went from folk magic and healing to mass execution. We focus on Scotland, England, Ireland and Germany. Lots of justified slamming of weak murderous men and a little tour of the criminal justice system.

The Witchcraft series continues with Witchcraft of the Celtic world! From natural paganism, sacred trees to scruffy druid men and the goddess Brigid (hay gurl). Cursing, folk healing, wise women and fairy mischief have been a huge part of Irish and Manx culture right through Christian influence. We also have tales of a modern Bean Feasa, Biddy Early who was loved and feared in equal measure.. Audio at the beginning is from the RTÉ documentary "Was Biddy Early a Witch or a Fairy?", credit to CR's Video Vaults on YouTube; Fair use, we own nothing.

Emily kicks off our new thicccqq mini-series on witchcraft with a rundown of Greek and Roman witches. From myths about Hecate, Circe and Erictho, to an examination of magical men who didn't face the same scrutiny as practicing witches of their time. We also hear from a certain Roman baby for relationship advice in Creature Counsel.

Grab your fluffiest socks and crank up the heat because Niamh is back with a look at Ladies Who Snow. From fictional characters from Narnia to inventions of pure capitalism, we end up (via Russia and Snegurochka) back with the Norse Jotnar, this time with Skadi, our divorced baddie. Then we hop across the sea to that fierce Scottish lass Beira...who is apparently responsible for Nessie?!

You might need a hot drink for this one as we are all about the Frosty Boi himself - Jack Frost. Where did he come from, and does he have any basis in folklore? We take a trip back through time and over to our Nordic Neighbours for some frosty fun. Apologies in advance for any pronunciation errors - we did really try!
