In this laugh-out-loud episode of Scattered Banter, we dive into some of the wildest, most hilarious ideas we've ever brainstormed. Feeling overwhelmed by holiday stress? We’ve got the perfect (totally hypothetical) solution: Medically Induced Comas. Sure, the name needs work, but we’re convinced the world is ready for “Therapeutic Sedation” or “Naptime in Nirvana.” Trust us, it’s what the people want—they just don’t know it yet.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. We compare our Spotify Wrapped stats, sparking some friendly competition over favorite songs, top artists, and jaw-dropping minutes listened. Who reigns supreme in musical dedication? Tune in to find out.
Ever thought about starting a cult? No? Well, we did. Inspired by Netflix documentaries, we lay out our blueprint for a rebranded, supportive cult—complete with Taco Tuesdays, special dress codes, and low-key perks like free childcare and house cleaning. It’s more like a nanny service… with matching outfits. We promise it’s not as weird as it sounds (okay, maybe it is).
To top it all off, we share a classic, can’t-miss story about the time grandpa drove to the Wharehouse (yes, that’s spelled right). It’s the unforgettable tale that once closed out a stand-up comedy set and still brings down the house.
From ridiculous business pitches to grand ideas for global domination, this episode has everything you never knew you needed. So grab your headphones, press play, and prepare for a chaotic mix of humor, nostalgia, and just the right amount of absurdity. You won’t want to miss this one. -

It’s part 2 with stand up comedian Julien Lacrosse and I promise you’re going to laugh uncontrollably. We start off talking about his dislike of comedy festivals and somehow jump to the fact that he has a foot fetish. Ahhh, that’s right, I brought up those pictures of Brie Larson’s feet on my phone. Look it up, I dare you. Next we talk about the time he got into an all out scrap with fellow nerds over a Magic the Gathering trade gone wrong. Yes, you read that right. His Trump impersonation makes a come back several times during the episode and lastly, he shares one of the absolute best stories that was ever told involving his ex girlfriend’s dad and one of their horrific encounters. This is a core memory for me now, it’ll never be forgotten.

In this episode we sit down with local comedian and friend of the podcast, Julien LaCrosse. For me, this was a great opportunity to ask about his creative process, how he got started, and for him to share some of the best stories I’ve heard in a very long time. Julien tells us about his early years and how advanced math skills and tutoring led to a side hustle selling milks in elementary school and the painful lessons that came with it. We hear stories from the road, his take on the ever popular Matt Rife, how mushrooms led to enlightenment and shedding his ego. All of which set him up nicely to deliver his dark style of humor.

On this episode of the podcast, we talk to Thomas’ really good friend James, whom he’s known since high school. This one was so good we had to break it up into two parts. In the first half, he shares stories of his high school days and the hardships of making weight in wrestling. We talk about how Thomas changed his life with a shady business deal which almost resulted in them buying matching Lambos, and then wrap up part one with his thoughts on UFC fighters and how they’re horrible at their job and how it motivated him to get off the couch and step into the octagon. If you’re a fan of this growing podcast, be sure to share it with your friends and help it grow and we’ll keep bringing you more entertaining content. Thanks for listening.

Guess who's back in the house while Thomas is away doing cosplay at a Pokemon convention? It’s Mike Beck! He’s back, he’s angry and he’s as quick-witted as ever. We chat about dropping the kids off at the pool while you’re at work, the crazy things people would buy if they won the Powerball, the insane consistency of old guys playing golf, how we overuse the phrase “Super Dope,” untrained grocery store cashiers, and the joys of organizing your music collection. If you’re a fan of this growing podcast, be sure to share it with your friends and help it grow and we’ll keep bringing you more entertaining content. Thanks for listening.

Picking up where we left off from part one of our episode with Kelly, we start this one with a trivia face-off between Kelly and Thomas. Nerdy topics include Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and how well do you know your friend. The convo jumps to the Handmaid’s tail and how likely we are to live in this type of world, which seems utterly nuts. Next, we pick on Thomas and talk about how we organized a dress like Thomas Day and his plans to re-enact the scene from Jerry Maguire when he gets fired. Last but not least, we played a fun game of comparing whose on each other’s hall pass list, which led to plenty of laughs. If you’re a fan of this growing podcast, be sure to share it with your friends and help it grow and we’ll keep bringing you more entertaining content. Thanks for listening.

These episodes keep getting better and better and this time we’ve got a very special guest. Our very good friend, the one who shall be named, it’s Kelly! It was such a good time, we had to break it into two episodes. Kelly shares how she met and simultaneously scared the hell out of Neil Patrick Harris. We take on unanswerable questions from Chat GPT and uncover yet another animal Thomas hates, the llama. We talk about Rocky 4 and do our best to convince Kelly that it’s a must see, because come on, it’s a masterpiece. But maybe it’s just a guy thing. If you’re a fan of this growing podcast, be sure to share it with your friends and help it grow and we’ll keep bringing you more entertaining content. Thanks for listening.

In this episode we get into a very wide range of topics and start off talking about spiders and how they don’t seem to understand that they’re not allowed to be upstairs. Next up, we talk about a very popular online topic, how do you have friends and significant others stored in your phone. Do you use their nickname or do you always use their real name? Do you do both? Who the hell is Jim? How about adding a custom ringtone? We answer all of these questions and then we finally talk about butt stuff. Probably not what you’re thinking though. Oh and if you’re a fan of this growing podcast, be sure to share it with your friends and help it grow and we’ll keep bringing you more entertaining content. Thanks for listening.

We start off this episode with Thomas being late to the podcast that’s recorded in the easiest place for him to get to then about my serious confusion as to why he doesn’t think the substitute teacher skit by Key & Peele is funny. It starts getting way off-topic and then we jump into some of our favorite and life-changing books. The Graveyard Book, Richest Man in Babylon, Extreme Ownership, Never Split the Difference, Crucial Conversations, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Ender’s Game, and Ready Player One. That’s a hell of a mouthful! It’s a fun ride and we keep it entertaining every step of the way. Also, if you’re a fan of this podcast, be sure to share it with your friends and help it grow and we’ll keep bringing you more entertaining content. Thanks for listening.

Arend and Thomas share details from their recent trips to Toronto, Canada and Lanai, Hawaii and all the fun in between. Thomas made a new bff who cooked him a romantic dinner then went scuba diving for mermaids. Arend did shots of maple syrup in Canada, snuck into some of the closed areas at Casa Loma, and had an unforgettable experience switching seats on the plane with a women and her baby. As a side note, this episode was recorded just before the fires that took place in Maui, which made it crazy to hear about the fires as I was editing this episode. Our hearts and donations have since gone out to the victims and those impacted and we encourage our small handful of listeners to do the same. That said, if you’re a fan of this podcast, be sure to share it with your friends and help it grow and we’ll keep bringing you more entertaining content. Thanks for listening.

In this episode of the podcast, we explore eating whatever we want with no consequences and Thomas shames my choices. We talked quite a bit about a recent game night where we played a board game called Cashflow and learned about the importance of making passive income. Arend shares a story from a recent birthday party where he almost adopted a 7-year-old and we end with my threats of getting Thomas a dog. If you’re a fan of our podcast, be sure to share it with a friend and help it grow and we’ll keep bringing you more entertaining content. Thanks for listening.

Picking up where we left off in this house-flipping adventure, we’re jumping into part 2 were we get to listen in on the lottery ticket of a deal that Thomas let slip through his fingers and why. We find out the most important people to have on your team or at least as contacts, one of the best deals he ever landed and then we cap it off with one of the worst deals and why it went south. In this episode Thomas breaks out his big boy pants and gives us a front row seat into the world of flipping houses. Before we jump into that, we talk about our early days of working, hustling, and then how he got started in this industry. We cover the obstacles he faced when working up the courage to landing his first deal, and the golden lottery ticket of a deal that got away. This is a two parter so be sure to check out more from this conversation in episode 8. Anyone out there listen to the Joe Rogan Experience or Two Bears One Cave? Adding this question as a test. This week’s show features our very first guest and good friend Mike Beck. Which as you’ll quickly hear, was well worth the purchase of a third microphone. The topics range from poker games, his love of music, office mix CD’s, and a detailed account of his recent undertaking of the hot one’s challenge. Arend and Thomas also find time to harass each other and have plenty to joke about. Enjoy!

During this week’s show, Arend and Thomas brainstorm ideas for future shows and argue about why we need to do an episode where we give each other a lie detector test. Thomas is of course against this great idea and Arend tries his best to convince him otherwise. They come up with a list of friends who they’ll be begging to come on the show soon, Arend repeats a joke from TikTok that’ll make your jaw drop, and we find out that Captain Crunch is the latest sponsor they’d love to have.

On this week's episode, I break out the game Table Topics, which Thomas hates for some reason. Even more of a reason for me to love it. Would we give up junk food to live a few more years? What 3 websites do we care about the most? Why is Thomas a terrible gift giver, and plenty more questions that escape my memory at the moment. Enjoy!!
-
Look at what we have here it's ep 2. Arend and Thomas talk about their morning routines, the struggles, the wins, the tasty meals and coffee that power them, and a few other topics sprinkled in.
