Heading into a busy weekend, Blake and Jeff Paterson chat about the week that was for the Canucks and the wrapping up of development camp as well. The future stars will be well tracked in the months ahead, will they be the cornerstones of future Canucks playoff teams? The guys also preview the Canada-Morocco match with the latest from training in Houston. They debate whether Canada is a small or huge underdog in the match, and whether we might get another chance to see Canada host World Cup matches sometime soon. TSN's Frank Corrado stops by for his summary of the various moves from the Canucks this week and whether the "nice guy" quotient will pay dividends for the team. Frankie weighs in on what Luke Schenn has left in his game the physicality of the new Canucks, plus, he waxes on the proper utilisation of a July development camp. Then it's former Canadian World Cup goalkeeper Paul Dolan with his predictions on Canada's match. Dolies talks about Alphonso Davies' likely usage, any other potential change for Canada's lineup, and the challenges that the number 6 ranked Moroccans will present. Paul also talks about the amazing experiences that this World Cup has provided all of the fans. Blake and Jeff finish up with the latest from elsewhere around the World Cup, the BC Lions try to get healthy in time for their final game in Kelowna, and the Jays vs Mariners kicks off in Seattle!

After an eventful July 1st for the Canucks, Matt and Blake have a ton to percolate on for today's show. The guys debate the next steps for the team and if their could be enough satisfaction with the job already done. The guys look at the opportunities still out there and if there is an overwhelming sense now that the rebuid is being taken seriously by the organization. Postmedia's Patrick Johnston drops by from Canucks prospects camp and evaluates the entire job done by the Canucks yesterday. PJ talks about the Pettersson trade, what's left in the career of Luke Schenn and the value of Oleksiak as a trade chip, plus, he looks at the Cotter signing as an upgrade on the 4th line vets from a year ago. Then it's a raucous chat with former Canadian head coach and 1986 World Cup player, Colin Miller, on Saturday's clash between Canada and Morocco. Colin breaks down the tactical adjustments that are possible for Jesse Marsch's squad, having attended Morocco vs Scotland in person. Colin also addresses a probably plan for Alphonso Davies in the match, and walks down memory lane on where this program has come from, to get to this point. The Sheet's Jeff Marek stops by for a deep dive into the Canucks' newly acquired 2030 first round pick and how they might use it. Jeff amaingly provides actual names that could be drafted, if the Canucks ended up using the pick! Marek lauds the work the Canucks did and looks at the climate around the NHL after a busy July 1st. Then the guys finish up with a further look ahead to Canada and the Thursday schedule at the World Cup. They check in on the health of the BC Lions and run down the baseball story as Nat Bailey gets set for a Max Scherzer start tomorrow!

Happy Canada day!! It's also free agent day in the NHL so Matt and Blake have you all covered with the latest signings for the Canucks and from around the league. The Canucks bolster the blueline with a familiar face in Luke Schenn but what will that mean for the young defencemen and opportunity? The guys debate the worth of the incoming forwards like Cotter and Thomas, and they continue to monitor the trade situations swirling around the club. We hear from reporters Jeff Paterson and Rob Williams, and we look around the NHL to see how the rest of the league treated free agency with so much cap space in the system. All that, plus the guys look at Canada's prep for Morocco, the Whitecaps suffer an injury, and the Vancouver Canadians will get a suprise start from Cy Young winner Max Scherzer??!

On the eve of NHL free agency, Matt and Blake get you for NHL silly season as signings and trades are about to take centre stage. The boys look at what might be possible for the Canucks this week and the hurdles to make it happen, plus, they check in on development camp and the new prospects. TSN's Darren Dreger is back with the latest on the Canucks efforts to make change this summer. Dregs gives the pulse on conversations around Elias Pettersson and Jake DeBrusk, and whether there's any veteran contracts that are available with good assets attached. Darren also talks about the possible trades of Reilly, Nurse and Hellebuyck. Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects is back for a final draft recap, especially the jewels of the late rounds for Vancouver. Cam also gets into the deals this week and whether they should have given Höglander more time, while the guys get sidetracked by whether EP40 should also get another chance with the new coach. Cam also weighs in on whether Gallagher would welcome a trade to a contender at the deadline. Then it's Vancouver Canadian infielder Tucker Toman on the beginning of their second half, the journey to Vancouver, and the dreams of MLB. The guys wrap up with rest of the World Cup story from a crazy day at the tournament yesterday, the Lions still search for answers to the special teams, and the Jays finally win a game!
