A native of Kingston, Massachusetts, Irving's passion for hockey began almost as soon as she could walk. Growing up skating on a front-yard rink built by her father, she developed a lifelong love for the game that continues to drive her success today. One of the defining moments of Irving's collegiate career came during the 2025 Beanpot Championship, where she scored both Northeastern goals in a dramatic 2-1 overtime victory over Boston University. Her performance earned her Beanpot MVP honors, cementing her place among the most impactful players in the tournament's storied history.

  • We sat down with Jeff Lovecchio to discuss the mindset that has shaped both his hockey career and his life: “Give More, Be More.”

From earning a spot in the Boston Bruins organization to building one of the most impactful player development programs in St. Louis, Jeff shares the lessons he’s learned through adversity, perseverance, and purpose.

Jeff opens up about battling injuries and concussions during his professional playing career, the decision to continue playing overseas, and the transition into life after hockey. He explains how those experiences ultimately led him to create GMT (Give More Training) and GMA, where he has now helped more than 3,400 athletes maximize their potential both on and off the ice.

A major focus of the conversation is Jeff’s powerful philosophy: “Be Where Your Feet Are.” He breaks down how staying fully present helped him navigate the highs and lows of professional hockey, grow successful businesses, and create meaningful relationships along the way.

    We also dive into:

Why Jeff started his own training businessThe true meaning behind “Give More, Be More.”How presence impacts athletic development and leadershipLessons learned from professional hockey and entrepreneurshipBuilding culture and community through player developmentApplying the “Be Where Your Feet Are” mindset to everyday life

Whether you’re an athlete, coach, parent, or entrepreneur, this episode is packed with insight on growth, resilience, and maximizing your potential.

    Bio

Jeff Lovecchio grew up playing hockey in St. Louis during a time when the city was not considered a serious competitor by top hockey markets. Through hard work, dedication, and self-discipline, he earned a Division I scholarship at Western Michigan University. Lovecchio notes that he achieved this despite not having the most innate ability, instead making up for a lack of natural skill with total commitment to maximizing his potential.

After three years at Western Michigan, Lovecchio signed with the Boston Bruins. While he did not appear in a regular-season NHL game, he played seven pre-season games for the Bruins and was on their roster for the playoffs. He spent three years with the Bruins' AHL team before being traded to the Florida Panthers, where he played for their AHL affiliate for a season and a half. Due to sustaining multiple concussions, Lovecchio decided to move his career overseas for the sake of his longevity. Over the next six years, he played in top leagues across Italy, Norway, Austria, and Asia. This experience living in diverse cultures was instrumental to his personal development, teaching him patience, leadership, and communication skills while navigating cultural and ideological barriers.

Three years into his professional playing career, Lovecchio founded an off-ice training company called RIPT Hockey, which has since transitioned into his full-time business, GMT (Give More Training). During the 2025/26 season, GMT expanded to operate training centers for five local youth organizations in St. Louis, serving over 3,400 players with a team of four coaches. As of 2026, over 34,000 people have used some form of his online training. Beyond training, Lovecchio frequently speaks to hockey families, which led to his career in public speaking for the general public, including his first keynote engagement for a nationwide company in 2025. Additionally, in 2025, he founded GMA (Give More Advising), a program for hockey players aged 14 and older; the initial spots sold out in 24 hours. Lovecchio operates under the philosophy of "Give More Be, you will Be More," and he is dedicated to helping others realize their potential.

His impact extends beyond the diabetes community—his insights on resilience, mindset, and health have reached millions through global media, including CNN, BBC, CBC, New York Times, TSN, Maclean’s, and The Players’ Tribune. Kaleb’s memoir, Crossroads, became a #1 National Bestseller, earning praise from hockey legend Wayne Gretzky as a book that “will change your life for the better.” As an International Keynote Speaker, he has worked with industry leaders such as Google, Rogers, TD, Nestle, the NHL, and the Government of Canada, using his powerful story to inspire transformation.

Earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in June of 2025, Kaleb is completing his residency specializing in sports with a focus on nutrition, neurology, and concussion management to help elevate and optimize high-performing individuals. His journey is a testament to grit, passion, and purpose, which most recently earned him the prestigious King Charles III’s Coronation Medal (2025). On the world stage, Lamoureux became a fixture in the USA Hockey program, earning Olympic silver medals in 2010 and 2014 before reaching the pinnacle at the 2018 Winter Olympics—where she scored the dramatic game-tying goal in the gold-medal game, setting the stage for Team USA’s eventual victory in a shootout. She also contributed to U.S. success at top international events across multiple seasons, and she played professionally as well, including time with the Boston Blades in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League. After later competing with the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association—an organization advocating for a more equitable professional landscape—she retired from playing in 2021. Off the ice, she and her sister have continued to shape the sport and their community through their memoir Dare to Make History and the Lamoureux Foundation, which supports educational and extracurricular opportunities for kids in need, particularly in North Dakota. In addition to being a wife, and mother to three wonderful kids, she is also a realtor with The Elm Group in East Grand Forks.

This episode meticulously explores the evolution of his playing career, highlighting the impact of his childhood experiences on his current coaching philosophy. Takeaways: The importance of maturity in a hockey player's development cannot be understated, as it encompasses both physical and mental growth. Cultivating a supportive environment for young athletes is essential for their emotional well-being and overall development. Positioning has become increasingly critical for goaltenders, as modern play emphasizes fewer athletic saves and more strategic placement. A strong team culture, fostered by mutual support and camaraderie, significantly contributes to a successful hockey season. Young athletes should focus on enjoying their sport to maintain passion and prevent burnout, rather than solely concentrating on performance metrics. Engaging in meaningful conversations with young players about their feelings helps mitigate pressure and fosters healthy emotional growth.

  • This podcast episode features a profound discussion with Tony Cosenza, affectionately known as Coach Tone, who possesses a wealth of experience in the health and fitness sector, particularly within the realm of youth athletic development. Coach Tone discusses his approach through Total Empowerment Training, a philosophy designed to cultivate not just superior athletes but also well-rounded individuals who are equipped to navigate life's challenges. Throughout the episode, we explore the transformative power of sports as a vehicle for personal growth and the importance of fostering a love for the process of development rather than solely fixating on outcomes.

    Bio

    Tony Cosenza

Tony Cosenza, widely known as "Coach Tone," is a seasoned fitness professional with extensive experience spanning decades in the health & fitness industry.

Having most recently successfully owned and operated CrossFit TE [Total Empowerment] for nearly ten years, he made a pivotal decision to focus his energy on guiding young athletes, from beginner to competitive levels, in their pursuit of holistic success in health, fitness, training, and life.

    https://www.totalempowerment.com/

In addition to owning Total Empowerment, Tony is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and an Energy Leadership Master Practitioner (ELI-MP).

    Takeaways:

Tony Cosenza emphasizes that the foundation of athletic development lies in power, speed, and strength, which are critical for success in hockey. The process of training should prioritize the mental and emotional growth of young athletes alongside their physical capabilities. Engaging with young athletes requires a balance of being a mentor, coach, and friend to foster their confidence and resilience in sports. Tony advocates for the importance of off-ice training in building a strong athletic foundation, which is often neglected by both parents and young players.
