Screen addiction is real! Have you ever caught yourself scrolling your iphone checking out Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, never realizing you just wasted 2 hours of your work day? If that wasn't enough, we now have Netflix serving up 65 episodes of Firefly Lane on demand without commercials. All these screens are enough to steal our lives away, but the scary part is that they are! If we aren't careful, we will be sucked into the vortex never to live a fulfilling REAL life again. A few years back I was addicted to Netflix and couldn't stop binge watching shows into the wee hours of the night. I would wake up groggy and in a fog, swearing I would not do that again, only to repeat the binge that night. It was awful! It came to me one day that I had a problem and I needed to face it and fix it. I developed 5 steps to help me break my screen habit and I've never felt better. I get a great night's sleep, have less stress and anxiety and lots of energy to work out, have fun and get through my school day. I hope this episode blesses you and helps you on your wellness journey!

There are times in my life when things are going smoothly and times when all I want to do is poop, and I can't. Liver stagnation can be a main culprit to a lot of ailments, including dark circles under the eyes, allergies and sinusitis, itchy skin and rashes, digestive problems and more. When we suspect liver stagnation, we need to start opening up our drainage pathways, like our skin, lungs, liver, digestive tract, and kidneys to get rid of toxins. Oftentimes, our American lifestyle causes these organs to function sub-optimally and we end up feeling like pooh! One thing we can do to help liver stagnation is to open up our digestive pathway, aka, we need to poop often. In today's episode we are going to talk about ways to help us poop 2-3 times a day to support our liver drainage pathway. I hope this episode helps you toward your wellness goals!

What if I told you that weight gain wasn't about calories in versus calories out? What if I told you that your screen time has a huge affect on your weight? Dr. Jack Kruse who was recently on the Huberman Podcast talked about blue light toxicity and the lack of exposure to the sun has caused a significant increase in diseases around the globe, even obesity. In particular, blue light causes our bodies to make glucose, whether or not we have eaten food. The amount of exposure to blue light has exponentially increased with technology advancements in LED screens, light bulbs, smart phones, computer screens and TVs, and so hasn't our waistlines. It's time for a blue light fast and intentional time out in the sun with no sunscreen or sunglasses! In today's episode I am going to give a quick highlight of Dr. Kruse's main points. To look further into his research and protocols check out his website, www.jackkruse.com

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, you can remember the shift from basking in the sun with Hawaiian Tropics sunning oil to lathering yourself up with SPF 30 to make sure you didn't get skin cancer. Now we avoid the sun at all costs, slathering on sunscreen and staying inside exposing ourselves to a different type of light, and yet our overall health is worse. In today's episode we are going to talk about light that comes from the sun and artificial blue light and how they both affect our health. This episode will leave you thinking I'm nuts or reconsidering all the things you do in your daily life. Remember, we are all on the path of wellness and it's a journey. As we learn more, we get to choose to change the things that are harmful and sometimes we don't always know what the harmful things are. As I learn more, my perspective continues to shift to copy what I see in nature and this episode reflects that a bit.
