  • What if the biggest thing holding you back in dating isn't finding the right person... but trusting yourself?

After sharing the story of "Mr Singapore" in last week's episode, I realised there was a deeper conversation to have. One that goes beyond dating and into the relationship we have with ourselves.

Self-trust isn't something we're born with. It's something we build.

But what happens when life experiences, criticism, or constantly second guessing yourself have made it difficult to believe in your own decisions?

In this episode, I'm exploring why so many women struggle to trust themselves, how that shows up in dating and everyday life, and practical ways to start rebuilding that trust—one small promise at a time.

We'll also dive into some reflective questions to help you uncover where your self doubt may have begun, so you can move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

    In this episode, we discuss:

Why self-trust is one of the most valuable skills you can develop. How childhood experiences and past relationships can shape your decision-making.The difference between intuition and overthinking.Practical ways to build self-trust through everyday actions. Why keeping promises to yourself creates confidence and momentum. How trusting yourself can change the way you date, set boundaries and make decisions.

Because the goal isn't to become someone who never questions herself.

It's to become a woman who trusts herself enough to move forward anyway.

If this episode resonates with you, I'd love for you to leave a review, share it with a friend, or tag me on Instagram. Your support helps more women discover the podcast and reminds them that being single isn't a waiting room—it's an opportunity to build a life you truly love!

  • One thing I found myself questioning is the advice we often hear around casual dating. The idea that because it's casual, you shouldn't expect much.

I am challenging that in this episode.

In this episode, I take you behind the scenes of a recent interaction I had with “Mr Singapore” (if you follow me on social media you will know), including the actual text messages exchanged between us, what I noticed, how I felt, and the final message I sent when I realised the connection was no longer aligned with the standards I have for myself.

This episode isn't about him. It's about self-respect. It's about standards. And it's about questioning the dating advice so many women have been taught to accept.

In this episode, I explore what it looks like to honour yourself, communicate your needs, and choose your standards—even when there is chemistry, attraction, and potential.

    Inside this episode:

✨The full story of "Mr Singapore".

✨The final message I sent expressing how I felt and what I require in my relationships.

✨Why consistency and consideration have become non-negotiable standards for me.

✨ The difference between being understanding and abandoning yourself.

✨ Challenging the narrative that women should expect less simply because a connection is "casual".

✨ Why self-respect matters regardless of the label on the relationship.

This episode is for any woman who has ever questioned whether her standards are too high, worried she was asking for too much, or tried to convince herself that breadcrumbs were enough because the connection wasn't "serious."

And the right connection will never require you to abandon your needs to keep it.

  • Breadcrumbs should give you the ICK!!

In this episode, I open up about the evolution of Single and Not Settling and the deeper direction this space is moving towards. I share why I feel called to help women build self-worth, emotional safety, confidence and standards that naturally make low effort behaviour unattractive.

This conversation is for women who are exhausted by mixed signals, breadcrumbs and modern dating dynamics that leave them disconnected from themselves.

    Inside this episode:

    * Why traditional dating advice no longer resonates.

    * The emotional gap many women are feeling in modern dating.

    * Healing the part of ourselves attracted to inconsistency.

    * Why breadcrumbs and low effort should naturally turn you off.

    * Why healing can actually make dating feel harder.

    * Creating a life rooted in peace, alignment and self-respect.

This episode is the beginning of a new chapter for Single and Not Settling — one focused less on “how to get chosen” and more on becoming deeply connected to yourself.

Because the goal isn’t just finding love. It’s never losing yourself in the process.

  • This episode feels incredibly special… not just because it’sEpisode 50, but because I’m opening up about something deeply personal that I know so many women silently experience.

Today, I’m sharing my journey with HPV.

Did you know that around 80% of women will have HPV at some point in their lives? Yet, it’s something that carries so much shame, confusion, and silence, simply because it’s linked to sex.

In this episode, I’m here to change that narrative. I talk openly about:

    - The emotional impact of being diagnosed and navigating the stigma.

    - Why "just wait 12 months" didn't feel aligned for me and learning to trust my intuition.

    - The steps I took to support my body in clearing the virus naturally.

    - The deeper connection between emotional wellbeing, stored energy in the body (especially around the hips and pelvic area).

    - How I shifted from fear into empowerment.

This isn’t about rejecting medical advice—it’s aboutadvocating for yourself, tuning into your body, and exploring a more holistic approach alongside professional guidance.

I also share the resources, workshops, and podcasts thatsupported me along the way—because you don’t have to navigate this alone.

If you’re currently going through something similar, oryou’ve ever felt shame around your body or your health… this episode is for you.

You are not alone.Your body is not broken. And healing is possible.

This conversation is about reclaiming your power, your voice, and your trust in yourself.

Thank you for being here with me for 50 episodes.

  • The story continues with Part 2 of Attachment Bonds...

& it feels so edgy to share!

In this episode of Single and Not Settling, I open up and talk about how I navigated my way through the layers (yes there was more!) and how I discovered that fantasy became a regulation tool.

    I break down:

What I felt in my body when I saw him again and tuned in out what it was communicating to me.That line in the sand moment that said "I've released this, I am done."A dream where he appeared and the symbolism BLEW MY MIND!Where I am at now. Present in my life, loving on myself and embodying my new identity.

  • Have you ever felt deeply attached to someone — even when, logically, you knew the connection wasn’t aligned or going anywhere?

In this episode, I’m unpacking attachment bonds — what they are, why they form so quickly (especially with emotionally unavailable men), and how they can feel magnetic, consuming, and confusing… even when you’re otherwise grounded, self-aware, and doing the work.

I share a very real and recent personal experience that began with a simple moment of silence — a message read but not replied to and how that activated an attachment bond in my nervous system. From there, I take you step-by-step through the exact process I used to move through it, regulate myself, and gently release the attachment.

    In this episode, we explore:

    - Why attachment bonds are normal (and not a sign that something is “wrong” with you)

    - How to calm your nervous system when attachment is activated.

    - How we unconsciously hand our power away and how to call it back.

    - Why emotionally unavailable men often trigger attachment more strongly.

    - The difference between being attached to a person vs being attached to a feeling.

    - Cord cutting and energetically speaking to that person.

I also share the grounding phrases that supported me through this process, including:

“I’ve already released this.”“I choose reality.”

And one of the most powerful truths from this experience:

What feels magnetic is often what feels familiar to an old part of us not what is aligned to our future self.

If you’ve ever felt pulled toward someone you knew wasn’t right, this episode will help you understand why and show you how to come back home to yourself with compassion, clarity, and self-trust.

This is only Part 1, there was so much more to share, come back for Part 2!

  • New Years Resolutions?....Nope not subscribing to that this year!

Each year we are told to write out our dreams and goals for the New Year, to put in actions steps that make us feel like failures if we did not reach them. But what happens when we are just not feeling it? If 2025 did a number on us and we are still reeling from the pain and heartbreak it brought?

Vanessa Maree lays it out in this episode from her own experience and how she is doing 2026 differently. She also shares:

Her experience from her first social media troll and what it taught her - ouch but thank you.A massive identify evolution and what she has been doing to navigate through it.What next? When you are piecing yourself back together you get to decide what that looks and feels like.A viral New Years Eve ritual. did she eat the grapes or not?!How Vanessa Maree is flipping the script on New Years Resolutions and asking herself a set of questions each month (make sure you write these down!).

The advice for the month is "you do you", simple but also so powerful at the same time.

This one will leave you feeling relieved, calm and trusting that you are not alone in the feelings you are experiencing right now.

  • This wasn't the episode I planned to record.

I wanted to record an episode to hype up single women at Christmas, reminding you that you are enough, that it is OK to be single and that your life has so much meaning and value. While I still believe that to be true, I didn't have it in me to show up that way this time.

So instead, I am being real with you...more so than usual.

In this episode, I share openly what the past few weeks have brought up for me, the triggers, the quiet grief, the reflection that comes when the year is ending and you find yourself questioning your life's alignment, your choices and where you are right now.

I share why I have pulled away from social media, how a short trip to Byron Bay shifted so much, who showed up back into my life during Mercury Retrograde and the clique advice about being in a "high vibration", "you create your own reality and can change it at any time". Single women are exhausted!

So, if you are ending 2025 feeling reflective, uncertain, and quietly question where you are at, this episode is for you.

    No silver linings.

    No trying to "fix things"

Just honesty, self compassion and permission to feel it all.

If this episode resonated with you, I would love to hear from you.

The latest update on the guy I’ve been dating (and yep, this is the stuff I didn’t share on social media 👀)The anxiety, overthinking, and self-awareness spiral thathad me questioning everything. Why I’m officially done trying to “figure it all out” orfind the spiritual meaning behind every situation. The cliche advice that’s honestly exhausting — from“everything happens for a reason” to burning letters under the full moon. What it’s been like to question if I’m even meant to have a relationship in this lifetime. Why I’m over the constant pressure to heal, level up, and be “high vibe” before love arrives. My new approach moving forward — I’m dating like a man. What this means for Single and Not Settling and how theenergy is shifting.

If you’ve ever felt deflated, frustrated, or just over the healing grind, this episode will hit home.

You’re not alone… and maybe it’s time we stop trying so hardto make sense of it all.

  • In this grounding and vulnerable conversation, Vanessa Mareesits down with Brad Barnett, a fire dancer, speaker, and man on a mission to be “a beacon of hope for women who have bad stories.”

Brad opens up about his past, including a pivotal momentthat changed how he shows up in relationships and life. He shares his journey from old patterns to self-awareness, and how choosing celibacy has helped him reconnect with his values and purpose.

    Together, they unpack:

    - What men really mean when they say they’re “too busy”or avoid emotional honesty.

    - The importance of communication, respect, and taking accountability.

    - Why women should honour themselves as divine beings — the portal of life — and stay discerning in who they allow into their energy.

    - What it looks like when a man is genuinely doing the innerwork.

This conversation is a reminder that good men do exist…(evenVanessa Maree was a little lost for words at the end!!) and that healing and respect can come from both sides.

Tune in for a heartfelt conversation about growth, integrity, and the power of self-respect in modern dating and connection.

  • "God showed you who they are — the next step is yours.”

That’s the quote Vanessa Maree is unpacking in today’s episode, along with other ways closure may come to you. This episode isn’t just about dating, but it is about heartbreak, the kind we don’t often talk about: losing friendships.

In this honest and heartfelt chat, Vanessa Maree opens up about:

    - The grief of outgrowing friendships as we grow into new versions of ourselves.

    - Realising when you have been removed from social media without notice.

    - Reflecting and identifying other ways closure comes to you, that is not a conversation or reasons why. Its the unspoken and observations that appear.

    - How to hold the faith by envisioning what you do want your friendships to look and feel like, and creating affirmations to lean on when the grief hits.

By the end of this episode, you’ll feel less alone, lighter, and more anchored in your worth. Because not everyone is meant to walk with you into your next chapter and that’s okay.

So grab a tea, or pop in your headphones on your walk, and let’s talk about the friendships that end… and the freedom that comes after.
