Shelly would also eventually invite two of her friends and her nephew to move in with her under the guise of helping them through a difficult period of their lives. She would implement abusive punishments to her daughters, nephew, and friends, which became more and more severe over time. Shelly’s reign of terror extended more than 2 decades, and left several dead in its wake.

This week we are talking about Scott Peterson, and the murders of Laci and Connor Peterson. At eight and a half months pregnant, Laci Peterson went missing from her home in Modesto, California on Christmas Eve of 2002. Scott’s strange, and at times inappropriate behavior had police concerned about his involvement in Laci’s disappearance from the beginning. But it wasn’t until his affair with massage therapist Amber Frey was revealed that Laci’s family started to see the convicted killer for who he truly was… a serial cheater with a penchant for telling bold-faced lies. Two decades later, Scott continues to cling to his innocence, despite being convicted by a jury and sentenced to death (his sentence was later reduced to life in prison without the possibility of parole). This week Suzy and Kate discuss Robert the Doll. Robert is 117 years old, and he is said to have a malevolent entity attached to him. The doll was originally given to a little boy who treasured him, even into his adulthood. As sweet as that seems, the doll also terrorized the child and many locals report to have had strange experiences with him. Robert the Doll still exists, and he now lives in a museum in Key West. Many people continue to have eyebrow raising encounters with Robert to this day.

Having an extremely unhealthy relationship with his mother, her death would send him over the edge and lead him down a path that would inspire several Hollywood movies. He murdered with the motive to create a skin suit where he could feel like he was literally crawling into his mother’s skin. Gein would also use victim’s skin and other body parts to make household items and articles of clothing.

This week Kate and Suzy talk about Jodi Arias and the murder of Travis Alexander. When Travis’ friends discovered he had been murdered, they immediately told police that they suspected his vain and frankly unhinged ex-girlfriend, Jodi Arias, was the killer. Just one problem, Jodi says she was in another state at the time of the murder. Detectives, however, stumbled upon a digital camera left at the scene of the crime, which revealed some… unmentionable details of what exactly went down that fateful night.
