Today I get into story time of getting a nail in my tire while I open up a wine from Avaline. Avaline was founded by Cameron Diaz and Kathrine Power and they basically source out wine growers and winemakers around the world that stick to the natural process of winemaking and practice sustainable farming. They make sure all their wines are made with organic grapes, have 0g of residual sugar and have no unwanted additives.
This red blend comes from a producer in France called EthicDrinks. They offer ethical wines with a sustainable approach and place the environment at the heart of it’s winemaking. Tune in to this new episode as I try this blend and emphasize the importance of slowing down, reassessing and taking the time you need for yourself in order to find balance and move forward with full force.

Fun find today, $26 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Napa Valley is small in size compared to other regions but has diverse offerings when it comes to wines. There are a total of 16 AVA’s (American Viticultural Areas) / sub-appellations in the valley. Each of these AVA’s are important, allowing winemakers to differentiate their wines based on the specific terroir in which the grapes grow. It ultimately helps consumers identify and appreciate unique characteristics of each wine while maintaining the region’s reputation for producing high-quality, distinctive wines.
There are strict regulations the AVA’s must stick to in order to ensure the wines meet the standards of quality and authenticity of the area. Overall, even though Napa Valley is known to have a big ego, they ultimately have a hunger for success when it comes to creating spectacular wines.
Tune in now as I briefly go over the AVA’s and dive into what makes a California cabernet a “Cabernet Sauvignon” while opening up this 2020 vintage I found at Total Wine at a great price point.

THE TIME HAS COME. I finally get to try a wine from the harvest I worked back in 2023!!
My team at Emeritus Vineyards sent over six different bottles from the 2023 vintage and today I open up the Halberg Blanc. Emeritus Vineyards is a winery located in Sebastopol, California where they produce solely Pinot Noir grapes. I personally have a deeper appreciation for Pinot Noir because of them.
Today, we get into the Halberg Blanc which is basically a white Pinot Noir. This is one of my faves because I honestly never was introduced to a white Pinot Noir until I worked with them and I think it has unique and complex flavors for a white wine. Tune in now to hear me talk about the process of making this wine as I reflect on my journey and full circle moment of working the harvest all the way to receiving a bottle I helped create delivered to me at home.
If you enjoy a highly acidic white wine with crisp citrus notes coming through, you will definitely enjoy this one.

WE FOUND A RIPASSO FOR $12… THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
As part of a well known historic Veronese winery, Pasqua wines was looking to acquire more vineyards and increase their investments. Cecilia Beretta estate was founded in the 1980’s in the wine village of Valpolicella.
Ripasso is known as “baby amarone” and tends to be less expensive than Amarone because in a nutshell the leftover grapes used to make amarone are “repassed” to make ripasso. You are essentially getting the same quality of grapes but just using the pomace of the grapes used for amarone a second time to get the most out of it to make the Ripasso. I explain the whole process in this episode and go into detail as I pour a glass to try this one out from Trader Joe’s.
Tune in now to get all the details on the producer, the process of making amarone and ripasso and see if you are intrigued to pick this one up at your local Trader Joe’s.
Cheers Sip & Grow Fam! Hope you enjoy this one.

$15 dollar Barolo… I had to give it a try. Known as the king of wines or the wine of kings, Barolo comes from Piedmont (northern Italy) located in Langhe and is one of the most prestigious, age worthy and collectible wines. It’s safe to say that Barolo is the “Burgundy” of Italy. Patience is the name of the game when it comes to a good Barolo because it needs a good amount of time to reach it’s full potential.
Coming across this price for a Barolo at Trader Joe’s, I couldn’t resist. This episode is short, sweet and to the point. Listen to the full episode to see if it’s worth the buy.

I open up a Semillon from the Uco Valley in Argentina! Usually semillon is most popularly grown in France and Australia and is the main grape varietal used to make a white Bordeaux. I love this grape because it tends to be medium to full body (like a chardonnay) and brings weight and depth to the wine and when aged can bring a creamy texture with honey flavors coming through.
Today we get into the art of aging wine. The earliest evidence of stored wine goes back to 7,000 year old pottery jugs buried in the dirt floor in Iran. Wine is one of the few consumable goods that can improve with time if stored properly.
I talk about the importance of storing wine, the compounds in wine and how they react overtime and the simplest approach to take when storing your wine. In simple terms, all you really need to remember is that the wine must be kept in a cool, dark place. Tune in now to get the full details on how to easily age your wine and tips on how to best drink and store your favorites while I open up this semillon and give you my viewpoint on the wine.

I came across this bottle in Total Wine and fell in love with the label… I’ve also had other wines from this producer that are solid. Domaine Bousquet is a family owned wine producer in Mendoza, Argentina and they are known for their sustainable practices that produce high quality, organic and vegan wines. Today’s wine is from one of the many lines Domaine Bousquet has and it is called “Cameleon”.
To them, “Cameleon” represents the embodiment of fine adaptation to the environment. This label symbolizes the story of the Bousquet Family, “a fourth generation that left their native France after a long worldwide search for an idyllic wine growing region”. Their story is truly magnetic because they went in search of finding what they wanted and adapted to their new environment ultimately creating an iconic and successful winery in Argentina.
In this episode, we get into the family background while opening up a wine label dedicated to their story and touch on how they are one of the leading sustainable producers in Argentina.
I get into what adaptability looks like for me in my life and the special conversation I had with a friend in regards to the idea of being graceful and efficient in our turnaround time when things get thrown at us from left field… aka when life happens.
Tune in now to see if this $15 organic cabernet is worth the try and be open to being a “cameleon” with me.

My dearest friend Dakota Wallace is back on the podcast! She was my first guest on the show back in episode 14 and now she has returned once again to join us in tasting some delicious wine. We picked up this wine in Eataly Boston and it is from the Piedmont region in an area called Valle D’Aosta. Valle D’Aosta sits in the Northwest of Italy and borders France & Switzerland lying in the Western Alps.
As we try this tasty high altitude Nebbiolo, we dive into the topic of seasonal depression and life purpose. Dakota grew up hearing the term seasonal depression and gets into what that means to her and how she maneuvers it. As you begin to unravel the parts of you that you struggle with, it’s important to understand it is always best to attack it with curiosity over judgement. What if we are all like trees hibernating because we need to grow and recuperate? What if “seasonal depression” is a moment for us to reflect on ourselves and be curious about who we are and how we operate?
It’s really easy to go after your goals, dreams and ambitions when the sun is out but what is getting you out of the bed during these "hard seasons”? The “hard seasons” is where you not only learn about yourself but also are given the opportunity to see what it is you truly want and what it is you are truly are capable of.
Tune in now to sit in with us on this deep conversation while we drink a solid Nebbiolo.

Bordeaux is the largest fine-wine vineyard on the globe. It is a powerful wine region where complex, age worthy wines are made (we love that). Bordeaux is so complex that it can be challenging to comprehend aka Bordeaux’s are authentic af with lots of personality (we def love that haha). They have over 15,000 growers and dozens of top-class estates plus many other “lesser standing” wine producers and they all produce around 700 million bottles of wine every year. Monumental wines come from here and are some of the priciest wines in the world.
80% of the wines produced in Bordeaux are red, today I talk about the other 20%… aka white Bordeaux. I get into the white grape varietals grown in Bordeaux in which a total of 9 grape varietals are grown in this region. This is why Bordeaux wines are so special, these nine grapes not only proved themselves well suited to Bordeaux’s climate but also have been found to enhance one another when blended which is not the case for all grapes. Ultimately, this is what makes their practice and philosophy of winemaking different from Burgundy.
Today’s white blend consist of the Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Tune in now to get the full details on white Bordeaux and see if you are interested in giving it a try for yourself.

How was your first week of 2025? Have you set your intentions and goals yet?
I open up a Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington State from one of my favorite natural wine brands Avaline. I have spoken about them before but they basically get together with wine growers around the world who align with their brand mission of having wines made of 100% organic grapes, no residual sugar present and no unwanted additives. This specific Cabernet comes from a producer in Washington State called Tagaris winery. I get into their family history and their farming practices in this episode.
With the new year here, I really wanted to talk about integrity and the importance of setting our goals for the year. When you approach everything you do with genuine intention, naturally it leads to actions grounded in integrity. Where your focus goes, your energy flows and how you do one thing is ultimately how you do everything. I really encourage you to take a moment to think about the goals you want to reach for the year, write them down and start taking little actionable steps towards them. I promise you, you will surprise yourself.
Tune in now as I talk about Avaline, give you some background on Tagaris winery and get into the nitty gritty of setting your goals for the year. Let’s see if you like this Cabernet from Washington State.

Latin America’s leading wine producer… Viña Concha y Toro. This producer was founded in 1883 and today exports to 135 countries. As the largest wine-growing company in Latin America, located in Santiago, Chile, they created the second most influential wine brand worldwide in 1966 known as “Casillero del Diablo”. The reason why they created this brand was because they believed the best wines were kept in a locked cellar and rumor that the devil himself lived in their cellar (hence the name translates to Devil’s locker room).
Today, I open up a Malbec from Concha y Toro’s Palo Santo Vineyard located in the town Marchigue in the Colchagua valley. This area is near the coast (giving us warm days + cool nights + ocean breeze) and is about 159 kilometers from Santiago, Chile. This area is known to be the “Napa Valley” of Chile. They are known for their Cabernet Sauvignon, Camenere and Syrah’s here, that’s what intrigued me to try out a Malbec from this area.
I get into the Spanish public speaking workshop I participated in at the end of December and how much I learned that day. Preparation is important and it’s up to us to be part of the 5% who are successful by taking a step each day towards where we want to go. Everyone starts somewhere and no one is an “overnight success”. We have all the information we need in order to shine bright and succeed but ultimately it’s up to us to get better each day and prepare ourselves for when the opportunity arises we knock it out of the park and succeed in any and everything we do.
Tune in now to learn all the details behind this producer, how to be part of the 5% who succeed and taste this Chilean Malbec with me!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
I figured since it’s the holidays, might as well bring on a bold, full bodied wine. Today I open up a Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma county. Rodney Strong has been making waves in California’s wine scene for decades and today’s bottle is one of their umbrella brands known for their commitment to quality and sustainable practices.
Bluewing vineyards focuses on sustainable farming and careful vineyard management. This label was created to honor the family’s passion for small-lot, premium wines that reflect the diversity of Sonoma county. Every bottle not only represents the unique geography of this region but is also made with care for the environment.
Today’s vintage 2020 was a challenging year for the wine scene in California due to a wildfire that impacted a lot of vineyards. Fortunately they were able to harvest the grapes and produce the wine. Tune in now to hear all about this brand and wine and I hope you all have a beautiful Christmas surrounded by loved ones.

Wine made from 100% Organic grapes… sign me up. Avaline is a brand created by Cameron Diaz & Katherine Power who partner with winemakers around the world that prioritize sustainable farming (100% organic grapes with no synthetic pesticides or insecticides), have no residual sugar present and have no unwanted additives. I came across their wine initially grocery shopping at Sprouts and now have become an affiliate for them. The wines I have tried so far have been very good.
Today I open up their Beaujolais. Beaujolais is made of 100% Gamay grape. What makes this wine so popular is that the grapes are harvested, bottled right after the fermentation process and sold in the stores the same year it is harvested. It is meant to be a young wine that you can drink right away. Traditionally, it is meant to celebrate a successful end of the harvest. This wine is always released around November (thanksgiving time in the US).
Transformation comes up towards the end of the episode and I emphasize the importance of healing, growing and how our experiences have affected us to be the way we are. Understanding how your environment and experiences shaped you is how you can understand what you need to heal and grow from in order to move forward and live the life you want to live. It takes work to heal and grow but I promise you the benefits of that work you put in is so worth it.
Tune in now as I get into this natural wine brand, talk about healing and transforming while trying out this Beaujolais!

What is amphora aged wine? It is the traditional way of winemaking, fermenting and aging that dates back to the 15th century in the Eastern Mediterranean. Today’s producer specializes in amphora-aged wine and specifically uses concrete eggs to ferment and age most of their wines. I go over the differences between a steel tank, oak tank and clay/concrete tank to see the pros and cons of each one.
I also get into a Spanish public speaking workshop that I will be attending on December 22, 2024. It is an 8 hour workshop where Bernardo Jurado from Jurado Grupo Editorial will be teaching and helping us work on our oral communications skills in public speaking in Spanish. There are limited spots available and it is a great opportunity to learn and work on public speaking skills. It is a local event in Coconut Grove Miami, FL and I will be bringing wine to open at the end of the workshop. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to me via email [email protected] and I will give you all the details.
Tune in now to try a red blend from Uco Deus (producer) and taste a wine with me that is aged in a concrete egg.

Target finds are my favorite finds and today I go over a bottle I bought during one of my target shopping sprees. This producer came about through a woman who had a love for nature and the wild since she was a kid and was curious about how she can get back into what she loved through a career. She became an attorney but always dreamed about the “farm life” and that’s why she started looking into the wine industry, in order to transition from attorney back into doing something involving nature and the wild.
Through her research, she started understanding the wine industry and saw that many producers were more worried about mass producing wine (aka the numbers) versus embracing the vintage for what is (aka fermenting quality natural wine). She wanted to build a brand that embraced the differences and represented nature doing its thing in a bottle. That’s why she decided to create a natural wine brand and even trademarked “clean-crafted commitment” where it requires that grapes are farmed without toxic pesticides and the wine is produced without synthetic processing aides.
Tune in now as I get into detail about mass production in the wine industry, low intervention winemaking and the importance of researching your wine, the background on the producers story and why it’s so important to go after your dreams.

I open up a Chenin Blanc from Mendoza, Argentina. This white grape varietal is versatile in style and sweetness and I love that it has the ability to adapt to a wide variety of tastes. We love a grape that is versatile and adaptable!
Today’s producer is from the northern part of the Uco Valley in which they cultivate their grapes at a high altitude (1400 meters above sea level). High altitudes are great because they tend to bring increased levels of sunlight and UV exposure which ultimately gives the wines intense color and improved age worthiness due to the grapes skins producing more skin tannins.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I just want to thank all of you for supporting me in doing what I love (having convos and talking about wine hehe). I get into how important gratitude is and how reflection is key to understanding your growth. Always be curious and jump into the unknown because that is where the magic happens!
Tune in now for the full story on the producer as I open up this delicious Chenin Blanc and hopefully inspire you to go out there and do the things that truly bring you joy.

What makes a wine vegan? Usually, if any animal products are used in the winemaking process that would definitely make it non-vegan. Animal products are commonly found in fining agents used to break down left over particles in wine that winemakers want to get rid of before bottling. I touch on this topic so that you can understand why a wine would not be considered “vegan”.
I also get into a book I recently finished called “The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch. Randy was a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He had a couple of months to live and decided to make his last lecture about achieving your childhood dreams and gives us so many good life nuggets in his lecture.
I get into this book and the takeaways that really impacted me while getting into how you can lead your life authentically. Tune in now to get all the details on this red blend I open up from Argentina as I get into the Last Lecture and give you important takeaways to help lead your life authentically and accomplish all your goals effortlessly.

Come with me on the Portuguese Alvarinho ride. I came across this white wine in Total Wine and was instantly intrigued by the label. Turns out Portugal’s leading premium port producer (Symington Family) collaborated with winemaker Anselmo Mendes (Vinho Verde producer) to create the brand Contacto. They created this joint venture in order to develop premium wines from Moncao and Melgaco (northern Portugal).
I get into this producer, the brand details and their winemaking process that created the delicious bottle I open up to try today. Daylight savings comes up since we just went back an hour and I explain how we can us it to our advantage. Each day it’s important to seek progress not perfection and the best way to make sure progress continues to happen for you is through consistency.

We open up a blend today from one of the top producers in Argentina, Susana Balbo. She has different lines of wines and the one I try on this episode is from the line called Ben Marco. It’s a blend of 85% Malbec and 15% Cabernet Franc.
One of the things I love about this brand is that they honor the terroir by low intervention winemaking to reveal their true essence and character. Low intervention winemaking is when the use of additives and artificial flavors in the winemaking process are minimized and ultimately the winemakers let the wine develop it’s natural character to really showcase the unique qualities of the vineyard, grapes and climate.
I get into all the details of low intervention winemaking and why it’s my all-time favorite style of winemaking while touching on the importance of certain things you may have to add or adjust during the winemaking process (ex. adding in SO2). Allowing the wine to do it’s thing naturally for the most part is the way to go but it doesn’t hurt to help it thrive by giving it an SO2 boost. Tune in now to get the 411 on this producer, low intervention winemaking and taste this delicious Argentinian blend with me.

I got my hands on a Brut Nature for today’s episode… this is the first time I try this type of sparkling wine (watch episode 60 for all information on sparkling wines). Rutini is one of Argentina’s top producers and became the first winery to plant vines in the Uco Valley which is one of the top wine-producing regions in Mendoza. They have different lines of wines and this one specifically is from their line called “Encuentro”.
Brut Nature is the driest champagne or sparkling wine which ultimately means it has less than 3 grams of sugar per liter. Tune in now as I try this pinot noir based sparkling wine from Argentina, talk about this known producer and get into the importance of having a good support system. Remember, rejection is redirection and having the support you need, when you need it can ultimately prepare you to take on anything that comes your way with more ease and knowledge.
