This week on the show Nitin Chhoda joins me to talk about why you should never settle for less than what you are capable of.
Nitin is a Indian-American immigrant who came to America and was able to become a Physical Therapist and health professional. A great example of the 'American Dream', he arrived in the US with no money, in a post 9-11 world.
In the past, Nitin worked as a waiter in restaurants and waited to eat after guests left, since he couldn't afford his own meal. He has slept in his car since he couldn’t afford to pay the rent. He understands what it means to struggle.From those positions he has launched several successful business including coaching other PTs to start their own practices and a line of health and skincare products he has branded Total Activation.
Nitin shares stories of the challenges he has faced since coming to the United States as well as some of the failures he encountered along his entrepreneurial journey. He is a true testament of what we are all capable of achieving.
In addition to all of his business endeavors, he also hosts the Ignition Time Podcast and is the author of the book "Total Activation," a dynamic new approach to weight loss and personal wellness.
It is a system modeled in three stages of change: Identity, Compare, Integrate (ICI) which has 5 components: Emotional, Physical, Social, Spiritual and Intellectual (ERSSI).

Derek Beres joins me this week to talk about the science behind the integration of our body and minds is wholly linked and how developing routines that train both results in greater wellbeing and health.
Derek is a multi-faceted author, music producer, and yoga/fitness instructor based in Los Angeles. He is the creator of Flow Play, an innovative program that fuses yoga, music, and neuroscience, offered nationally at Equinox Fitness.
His next book, Whole Motion: Training Your Brain and Body for Optimal Health, will be published by Carrel/Skyhorse Publishing in July 2017.
Derek is ACE, AFAA, Schwinn, and Kettlebell Athletics certified. A former world music magazine editor, he has written for dozens of publications, including MTV, Rolling Stone, Village Voice, Women’s Health, and Yoga Journal, and is currently a columnist for Big Think and 24 Life.
He leads teacher training modules in yoga philosophy and music, movement, and neuroscience at Yogis Anonymous, Strala Yoga, and Buddhi Yoga. He was also the Creative Director of the Tadasana Festival of Yoga & Music, and has been featured in the NY Times, LA Times, Vogue, Shape, Fitness, NPR, and numerous other outlets.
I was really excited for this interview because what Derek is teaching is fully in line with what I am constantly driving home on the show. That regular physical activity and exercise are essential to develop both the physical and cognitive energy to start achieving your big dreams!

Jena went from homeless, to having a great job, to business owner, to $700k in debt and bankrupt, to building a $700K business as a Brand Strategist. It was a huge mindset journey to bring herself to where she is today and to overcome the "broke" cycle that she had to go through for her first 30-35 years of life.
The 700K was the debt from taking a leap/risk into entrepreneurship (lease, inventory, business loan, personal credit cards etc) and in 2007, the business was not making it. What was most important to Jena was her young daughters and husband, and saving her home, and so letting the business go was the only way to protect her family. This came at a cost though: bankruptcy.
Financial recovery was all in the action, the BRAVE that she got on and the mindset and commitment to stay the course no matter how hard it was or how hopeless she felt at times. She refused to give up.
Jena launched Brand with Jena, a branding and coaching business that has earned over $700K in revenue in the last 3 years. Jena relates to her entrepreneur clients, because she too was a little lost and lacked confidence. She steers them in the right direction, provides brand clarity and support, encourages them to get their brave on and stay in the game....just like she did.
