Therefore today, I will be reading a manual called Home-made Toys for Girls and Boys by A. Neely Hall. Today is the Second day of Christmas and often also known as Boxing Day. Originally, Boxing Day was a holiday in Great Britain intended to focus on giving gifts to the poor. It has since become more popularized as a day of shopping with huge sales. I will therefore read something related to Boxing Day, namely, The Adventure of the Cardboard Box by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is one of the 56 short stories written about Sherlock Holmes. If you find yourself enjoying this experience please follow this podcast on your podcast player of choice and tell everyone you know... that you Sleep... with Josh, because at the end of the day... the more people that Sleep... with Josh... the better. Tonight, is the end of the first day of Christmas and a kick off to the return of the Sleep with Josh Podcast and 12 straight days of new podcast episodes from December 25th, 2022 into the New Year until January 5th, 2023. We're coming back in a big way, so Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
We're going to start off with a reading of the classic English Christmas carol, "The Twelve Days of Christmas", which references the Twelve Days of Christmas celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a classic example of a cumulative song, where the lyrics detail a series of increasingly numerous gifts given on each of the twelve days of Christmas from Christmas Day to the Twelfth Night on January 5th which leads to Epiphany Day, on January 6th.If you find yourself enjoying this experience please follow this podcast on your podcast player of choice and tell everyone you know... that you Sleep... with Josh, because at the end of the day... the more people that Sleep... with Josh... the better. Welcome to the podcast where you Sleep... with Josh. Tonight, we continue reading from the classic ancient Chinese text, San Zi Jing, or Three Character Classic, in Mandarin with English translation. The Three Character Classic was written around the 13th century, and mainly attributed to Confucian scholar, Wang Ying Lin. Read and recited in couplets of three characters, the whole "poem" is under 1200 characters but represents a comprehensive overview of the main features of Confucianism. I will first read one couplet consisting of two 6 character lines in Mandarin, and then read the English translation. If you find yourself enjoying this experience please follow this podcast on your podcast player of choice and also follow me across all social media at joshyangcomedy. Welcome to the podcast where you Sleep... with Josh. Tonight, in honour of Asian Heritage Month around the world I would like to pay tribute to Asian cultures being celebrated during the month of May in many Western democratic nations, by highlighting the historic Academy Award winning Chinese filmmaker, Chloe Zhao for winning Best Picture and Best Director. Chloe Zhao became only the second woman and the first women of colour to win Best Director. I was inspired by Chloe's acceptance speech for Best Director when she quoted from the classic ancient Chinese text, San Zi Jing, or Three Character Classic, in Mandarin on the biggest stage of her career at this current moment in history as Anti-Asian discrimination and hate crimes have dramatically increased since the start of the global pandemic. I think it was pretty badass, so I will be reading the San Zi Jing in both Mandarin and English translation tonight in celebration. Here is the link to my Fresh Rice Comedy Set: https://youtu.be/njlGEAMnNkANow sit back, close your eyes, and open your mind to the teachings of a 700 year old Chinese text... because you'll start dreaming in Mandarin from this podcast... guaranteed.

Good evening and welcome to the podcast where you Sleep... with Josh.Tonight, as you dance the nocturnal ballet of sleep, odds are, you will begin the dream. Some dreams will make sense, others surreal, some you will remember, others forgotten... and maybe if you're lucky, you'll become self aware and lucid dream. What could these dreams mean? Well, your favourite Austrian neurologist and daddy of psychoanalysis has got you covered in, The Interpretation of Dreams, published in 1899 by the one and only mother lover, Sigmund Freud. Though much of Freud's work and theories have been ultimately discredited by modern psychologists, you can't help but respect the impact of the guy who first created "mommy and daddy issues".Now sit back, close your eyes, and make sure you have a journal by your bedside... because you'll start dreaming some weird dreams from this podcast... guaranteed.

Good evening and welcome to the podcast where you Sleep... with Josh. Tonight, it is March fourteenth, the fourteenth day of the 3rd month, 3/14, which is recognized internationally as Pi Day. A day in celebration of one of the most important mathematical constants, 3.14159 non repeating or Pi, by eating dessert pie or pizza, a happy coincidence. Pi, is defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. It is unique because it is an irrational number that cannot be expressed as a common fraction, but an approximation. One who's decimal representation never ends and never settles into a permanently repeating pattern. Therefore, in celebration of Pi, I will start reading the decimals of Pi until this episode reaches 31 minutes and 42 seconds. Let's see how far I get. Now sit back, close your eyes, and relax as your body digests all the pie you ate today... because you'll start dreaming numbers from this podcast... guaranteed.

Good evening and welcome to the podcast where you Sleep... with Josh. Tonight, we will be revisiting Webster's Unabridged Dictionary from 1913, with the Letter G. A great letter at the front of many gargantuan words but with many meanings by itself. G, when used as a description of money, refers to one thousand dollars or a grand. It can also describe a unit of weight, for example, when used in a sentence "the street value of a g of cocaine is 96 USD". Colloquially, G, can also be a slang term for "gangster", and when calling someone an "OG", or "original gangster", it is used as a term of endearment.
So, in a hypothetical situation, you can buy 10 g's of cocaine for 1G, and make the exchange at the OG spot... which can be hard to find... or so I've heard.
Now sit back, close your eyes, and you'll be able to find your own spot to listen to some g's with this podcast... guaranteed.

Good evening and welcome to the podcast where you Sleep... with Josh. Tonight, cryptocurrency has thrust itself to the forefront of global finance and technology with Bitcoin recently topping $58,000 USD and has become the first cryptocurrency to reach $1 trillion market capitalization. With the dramatic gains and losses of a volatile cryptocurrency marketplace, the potential of this technology has piqued my interest as well. I will therefore be reading the original white paper on Bitcoin that started the blockchain revolution back in 2008 by the elusive Satoshi Nakamoto. Now sit back, close your eyes, and you'll start dreaming of mining that sweet digital gold... from this podcast... guaranteed.

Good evening and welcome to the podcast where you Sleep... with Josh. Today, is Valentine's Day, love is in the air, and what better way to celebrate the evening... than by sleeping with Josh as I read The Kama Sutra of Vatsyayana translated from it's original Sanskrit text, in seven parts. Contrary to popular belief, the Kama Sutra is not just a manual for sexual positions, it is more of a guide to the art of living well, the nature of love, finding a life partner, maintaining one's love life, and the many pleasure-oriented facilities of human life. But for now, we'll stick to the sex parts. Now sit back, close your eyes, and get ready to feel the love tonight because you'll get tired... or turned on... by this podcast... guaranteed.

Good evening and welcome to the podcast where you Sleep... with Josh. Tonight, as we come to the end of a crazy few weeks in the stock market, where meme stonks have taken over the internet and the world financial system, the dramatic, coordinated short squeeze implemented by the subreddit, wallstreetbets, caused massive spikes in the price of stock in Gamestop, AMC, Nokia, etc. This wild speculation in the stock market made me think of the U.S. Banking Act of 1933 which was enacted in response to the stock market crash of 1929 which started on Black Thursday. The act included four provisions which separated commercial and investment banking as a way of fighting risky speculation and became referred to more commonly as the Glass-Steagall Act for the two co-sponsors, Senator Carter Glass of Virginia, and Henry B. Steagall of Alabama. I will therefore read the four main provision of the Glass Steagall act pertaining to commercial and investment banking. These provisions were officially repealed in 1999 as commercial and investment banking activity started to grow dramatically, which is argued as being one of the reasons the financial housing crisis of '08 happened. Now sit back, relax, and imagine rocketing to the moon because you'll get tired of this podcast... guaranteed.

Good evening and welcome to the podcast where you Sleep... with Josh. Tonight, in honor of the start of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. 4 year term as President of the United States, I want to revisit Plato's Socratic dialogue, "The Republic". Written around 375 BC, in the cradle of western democracy, Athens, Greece, it focused on justice, the order and character of a just city-state, and the "just man". It's nice to think that there will now be a more just, less egotistical, and more fundamentally capable person in the White House now then that guy who was there before. Now sit back, relax, and think of a better future to come because you'll get tired of this podcast... guaranteed.
