Live from Bill's Mom's House it's The Socially Distanced Podcast!
This week Bill is on location down the Jersey Shore from his mom's house hosting Episode #248! This week he's joined by "The Human Star Wars Encyclopedia" Amanda Rivas and Allie Nelson - comedian, actress and co-host of the Not Couple Goals Podcast.
On the episode they discuss the 50th Anniversary of Saturday Night Live. They discuss their favorite cast members, the historical and cultural impact of the series, their favorite random cast member, and their all-time favorite sketches. Socially Distanced is back on the gridiron for the final NFC East Group Therapy Session of the 2024-2025 season.
Bill Bodkin, Pop Break's Editor-in-Chief, is in the hosting seat and is joined by "The Human Star Wars Encyclopedia" Amanda Rivas (co-host of Anime X Pop), Al Mannarino (Pop Break's reluctant managing editor and co-founder of Socially Distanced), "The Commander of our Hearts" Ben Murchison (along with TK42Woof) and "The Voice of God" Marshall Stevenson (co-host of Blerd Watchers).
In the episode the do a post-mortem on the 2024 of the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Washington Commanders. They discuss how the Eagles and Chiefs can win the big game this weekend and give some predictions for 2025 -- like will Aaron Rodgers be a starting QB in the NFl at the beginning of the season.
They also talk the pop culture of the Big Game including Kendrick Lamar's halftime show, trailers they're excited to see and the ones they hope to see, and of course, the over/under on Taylor Swift appearances.
There's two pre-game segments this episode. The first revolves around the announcement that Hulu is rebooting Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Sarah Michelle Gellar returning and Chole Zhao directing. They also discuss the teaser trailer release for Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Socially Distanced heads back to the Marvel Animated universe via Disney Plus for some web-slinging fun!
This week Pop Break's editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin and "The Human Star Wars Encyclopedia" Amanda Rivas go guest-less this week (we hope our planned guess Dr. the Wife of Face4Wrestling feels better soon!) to discuss the new Marvel Animation Studios series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which saw its first two episodes debut on Disney Plus earlier this month.
Bill and Amanda discuss the unique comic book-style animation of the series, if the series surpassed their hype level, the staggering amount of Easter Eggs in the first two episodes, the gloriousness of Coleman Domingo as Norman Osborn, the variations on the Peter Parker origin story, and their theories on where the series could go and how Daredevil will be involved.

Amanda is joined by Pop Break's Editor-in-Chief Bill Bodkin, pro wrestler & the short king of Amanda's heart Branden Vice, and Jeff Fountain -- the Chairman of the United States Department of Nerds (USDN).
In the episode they talk about what they loved, what they loathed, and what made them scream AARRRRRRR like a salty one-eyed droid in Skeleton Crew. This includes the performance of the child cast, Jude Law's ludicrous charisma, the potential future of the series, the parents actions through the finale, Star Wars easter eggs and everyone's favorite corduroy coverall wearing elephant boy - Neal. Bill Bodkin is in the host seat this week along with "The Human Star Wars Encylopedia" Amanda Rivas to discuss the James Gunn MAX series. Joining them this week is a double debut from the world of professional wrestling.
First, joining us from the great state of Iowa is J.P. Harlow -- a veteran of the Texas independent scene who has also done work for AEW and the NWA. Second, is Warren Hayes, Quebec's favorite son and the host of the Mr. Warren Hayes show which streams live on YouTube on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The foursome take to the prisons of Belle Reve to discuss the happs since we last spoke about Rick Flagg Sr., Weasel, G.I. Robot, The Bride, Nina Mazursky, Doctor Phosphorus and Eric Frankenstein. They discuss James Gunn's ability to get even the most obscure characters over, and how he was able to seamlessly integrate the wider world of DC into the series. They discuss the Creature Commandos' tragic backstories, the famous voice cameos that permeated the series, the soundtrack, and how the finale was a bit too convoluted for its own good.

But more importantly they discuss the charities that you can donate to in order to help those in need in California who have had their lives irrevocably changed by the wildfires. These charities include: World Central Kitchen, Americares, The Red Cross, Greater Good, Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, & more. They also discuss the need for donations to help those still hurting from last fall's climate disaster in Asheville, NC. Charities for that include Beloved Asheville, and more. -

The film stars Christmas movie staple and Mean Girls legend Lacey Chabert, Dustin Milligan (Schitt's Creek), Craig Robinson (The Office), Joe LoTruglio (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Katy Mixon (Mike & Molly), and Lauren Holly (Dumb & Dumber). It's a tale about a widow (Chabert) who puts a scarf on a male model-esque snowman. The snowman (Milligan) comes to life, he falls for the widow, everyone in town is horny for the snowman and Christmas!

That's right, the Socially Distanced Podcast is immersing itself fully into spooky season by watching the 1996 classic, Scream!
Now why choose a 28-year-old movie to watch this October? Well, for obvious reasons it's one of the most popular horror films of the last 30 years, it's a very relevant franchise, and like ... it's Halloween. But there is one other thing that play here -- Pop Break's editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin has never seen the movie, and he was a teenager when it came out!
