In 2018, 30-year-old Mateusz Kawecki, a Polish man working in Hanover, Germany, went missing while driving to meet his pregnant fiancée in Lipia Góra, Poland. After leaving Hanover late on March 28, he informed his father about a traffic delay near Szczecin, though later evidence suggested he might not have left Germany. Despite the family’s efforts and police reports in both Germany and Poland, no clues emerged. Six months later, his decomposed, decapitated body was discovered in his family’s barn in Hutków, eastern Poland. Oddly, two nooses, bloody clothing, his phone, and a backpack were found nearby, but his car and keys were missing. His remains, including a shoe with a severed foot, raised questions, as his body seemed partially overlooked by local authorities. The police ruled it a suicide, though his family continues to seek answers, questioning the circumstances and lack of investigation.

On December 28, 1992, Steven Clark, a 23-year-old man from Marske-by-the-Sea, vanished after entering a public restroom in Saltburn, North Yorkshire. He had been walking with his mother Doris, who reported last seeing him as he entered the men’s restroom. When she emerged, Steven was gone, leading to a baffling search that found no trace of him. Despite various unconfirmed sightings and years of speculation, the case grew cold. In 2020, a 20-year-old anonymous letter accusing Steven's parents, Charles and Doris, of foul play led to their arrest, though they were eventually cleared. Steven's fate remains unknown, with theories ranging from abduction to a possible new life elsewhere, yet no evidence has been found to support any conclusion.

On August 9, 1976, the bodies of two unidentified victims, later known as the Sumter County Does, were discovered along a secluded road in Sumter County, South Carolina. Both were shot multiple times with a .357 revolver at close range, and it was believed that they were forced out of a vehicle before being killed. Despite early theories suggesting they may have been hitchhikers or involved in a robbery, the case remained unsolved for decades. A key suspect, Lany George Henry, was found in possession of the murder weapon months later but denied involvement in the killings, and inconsistencies left the case cold.
In 2020, DNA testing identified the victims as James Paul Freund and Pamela Mae Buckley, two American hitchhikers who had been traveling together.

Sky Elijah Metalwala, born in 2009, disappeared on November 6, 2011, amidst his parents' bitter custody battle. His mother, Julia Biryukova, claimed her car ran out of gas, leaving Sky alone while she sought help. However, her story quickly raised doubts as the car was operational, and there were no signs Sky had been in it. Neighbors hadn't seen him for weeks, and her account resembled a TV show plot. Despite a decade-long investigation, Sky remains missing, and suspicion continues to surround Julia's involvement in his disappearance.

In the latter half of 1985, a series of brutal killings rocked the quiet woods of Mineral, Washington.
On August 10, 1985, 27-year-old Steven Harkins and his 42-year-old girlfriend, Ruth Cooper, departed from their home in Tacoma, Washington, for a weekend camping trip at Tule Lake in Pierce County. Four days later, on August 14, hikers in Pierce County found Harkins shot dead in his sleeping bag at a remote campsite, with the couple’s dog also killed nearby. On October 26, Cooper's skull was found near Harts Lake, 1.5 miles from Harkins' body. Two days later, her body and purse were discovered 50 feet away. A tube sock was tied around her neck, and she had died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
In December 1985, Mike Riemer, 36, his girlfriend Diana Robertson, 21, and their 2-year-old daughter Crystal traveled from Tacoma to Pierce County to find a Christmas tree. Later that evening, Crystal was found alone outside a Kmart in Spanaway, saying her "Mommy was in the trees." Two months later, Diana's body was discovered near Riemer's truck, with a tube sock around her neck and 17 stab wounds. Investigators suspected Riemer, who had disappeared, might be responsible, though some believed he was also a victim. He had previously been charged with domestic assault against Diana.

On the morning of August 15, 2002, the bodies of Michael and Mary Short were found in their Oak Level, Virginia home, both having sustained single gunshot wounds to the head. Their phone lines were cut, indicating premeditation. Missing was their nine-year-old daughter, Jennifer, who was later found dead six weeks later in a creek 35 miles away, also shot in the head. The investigation revealed no signs of robbery but found a mysterious message, "I'm glad to see," on a garage window. The case remains unsolved, though it was reopened in 2021, with renewed efforts and advanced DNA testing aiming to finally resolve this tragic mystery.

On August 23, 2009, Toni vanished after leaving a party at Philadelphia 76er Willie Green's home. Following a disagreement with her friend Crystal Johns, Toni drove off alone and hasn't been seen since. Initial theories that she might have driven into the Schuylkill River were dismissed when searches yielded no results.
Two weeks later, an automated license plate reader detected her car in Camden, New Jersey, but it was never found. In 2013, an anonymous letter claimed that Toni was killed during a confrontation with a Camden police officer, and her car was taken to Boston. The letter included details that had not been made public, but police dismissed it as a hoax.
Investigator Eileen Law, hired by Toni's mother, continues to believe Toni may have been taken by human traffickers. Despite suspicions about Crystal, police cleared her of involvement. The case remains unsolved, and Eileen Law tirelessly pursued leads, holding onto hope that Toni might still be alive.
