    About:

In episode 71 of Soul Kitchen, I share insights on vision development, based on interviews with 50 visionaries. I call this process the 'Vision Framework' which includes 6 steps:

    V - Inner Voice

    I - Intuition

    S - Surrender

    I - Inspiration

    O - Originality

    N - New Vision

Throughout the episode, I provide examples of visionaries who embody these steps, highlighting their journeys and the importance of perseverance amidst doubts and uncertainties. I invite you to explore your own vision and see how you can apply the Vision Framework in developing your vision.

The next Soul Kitchen retreat where you can spend 6 days on reflecting on and sharpening your vision will be held in May in Ericeira, Portugal.

Here are 21 lessons that I have learnt along the way:

    1) Time: Only do, what only you can do. Delegate the rest.

    2) Delegation: When delegating focus on the desired output, not the input.

    3) Health: Remove alcohol from your diet. It can drastically improve your life.

    4) Money: If you want to make money, collaborate with people that focus on making money.

    5) Love: When in doubt, ask yourself the question: what would love do in this situation?

    6) Growth: Dedicate 1/3 of your time to personal growth, 1/3 to your contribution to society and 1/3 to family, friends and freedom.

    7) Consciousness: Experiment with things like breathwork, meditation, psychedelics, tantra and vipassana. You will find out why ;-)

    8) People: Accept meetings from strangers. Assume that they come to you for a reason.

    9) Serendipity: Don't always focus on Return on Investment. A random thing can lead to another thing later.

    10) Employees: Let them pick their own job titles. They will appreciate it.

    11) Customers: Aim for a 9/10 customer satisfaction and they will refer you to their friends.

    12) Investors: Send them frequent updates. It builds trust.

    13) Media: Invite journalists for lunch. They are humans too.

    14) Assistant: Hire an assistant. So you can focus on your zone of genius.

    15) Accountant: Hire an accountant. Pay your taxes on time. Solid finances is a hygiene factor.

    16) Networking: Attend epic events (e.g. Burning Man, Envision Festival). Business opportunities come when you have fun.

    17) Social: Share your stories and experiences on social media. People enjoy following people, not brands.

    18) Mentors: Great mentors and coaches are crucial. Oprah Winfrey has four of them. Me too.

    19) Risks: Often things are less risky than people want you to believe so.

    20) Heart: Follow your heart. Life is too short to not do it.

    21) Recipes: Create your own recipes for life. Take other people's advice with a pinch of salt ;-)

// 32:00 - 33:06 What are some tips and tricks to live a nomadic lifestyle?

    About:

Throughout our human journey, we've mostly been nomadic, spending about 98% of our time living on the move. The shift towards settling down happened when agriculture came into play, tying us to one place and bringing animals into our domestic circles. Now, an overwhelming 99.5% of us call one spot home.

Let's break down the nomadic lifestyle into three types: the traditional nomadic communities who journey together, the tech-savvy digital nomads, and the worldly-wise global elites. A nomad is essentially someone who thrives on the journey, going from place to place. So, when we say "nomadic," we're talking about any lifestyle that's all about constant movement and change.

Whether it's in traditional communities, tech-savvy digital nomads, or the jet-setting global elite, we're all still navigating our way through the diverse landscapes of life.

// Why am I passionate about this topic?

// What are some experiences that have helped me to think bigger?

// 10 tips & trick for thinking bigger

    Key highlights:

    // 1:18 - 3:52 Why am I passionate about this topic?

    // 4:05 - 21:47 10 tips & trick for thinking bigger

    About:

My journey into embracing thinking big is a topic that holds a special place in my heart. It all began at McKinsey 10 years ago, where I engaged in a project with THNK (The Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership). At THNK I attended a session on “Thinking big” by Bas Verhart and Menno van Dijk. An example of how I applied this: During the challenging times of COVID-19 in the Netherlands, we initiated the "Thank You Caretakers" campaign, allowing people to express gratitude to 100,000 healthcare workers. The goal was to showcase these messages on live screens in hospitals. Through thinking big, we successfully collaborated with the advertising agency IRIS, incorporating billboards and television commercials.

Here are my tips that have helped me think bigger:

    1) Sometimes, accomplishing bigger things is surprisingly easier.

    2) Media outlets are more receptive when you present a grand plan.

    3) Understand that everything you see was once invented by someone. This realization can profoundly shift your perspective on life.

    4) Ask yourself, "What can I achieve in 6 months that I thought would take 10 years?"

    5) Never assume someone is too busy to make time for you.

    6) When reaching out to someone, opt for an informal message rather than a formal one.

    7) There is an abundance of resources and funding in the world.

    8) Identify the dream that truly intimidates you, and lean into it.

    9) Add a zero to your goals – dare to think ten times bigger.

    10) Reflect on where you set your limits and understand their origin.

Bonus: Be selective regarding what type of thoughts you believe.
