The Space Between podcast builds on the belief that conversations, bridging across different spheres, can extend our ability to imagine better futures. Anchored in thinking about space — how it is produced, designed and occupied — these discussions seek to build knowledge, find commonalities, and inspire actions in the real world. We seek to foster intersectional dialogues between architects, artists, geographers, anthropologists, poets, politicians, scientists and dreamers. Every field has something to offer; what we hope to do is look at and learn from the Space Between.
In this first episode, we welcome Kate Crawford and Marina Otero Verzier. A leading scholar of the impacts of artificial intelligence, Kate Crawford is a professor at USC in Los Angeles and a senior principal researcher at MSR in NYC. Her book, Atlas of AI, has won multiple international awards. Marina Otero Verzier is an architect, researcher, a prolific educator and curator. Her work focuses on the relationships between architecture and digital infrastructures and the resources that sustain them. In this conversation, moderated by KoozArch founder Federica Zambeletti, our guests explore the materialities, environmental and social consequences of artificial intelligence.
