Y si no, no pasa absolutamente nada.

Today marks the premiere of the final episode of this season of Hablando Claro

We've dedicated many months to recording episodes, and before saying goodbye until September, I wanted to do something different.

Instead of discussing an expression or a cultural topic, I wanted to share with you some of the things I've learned this year teaching Spanish.

👉I've learned that nothing should be taken for granted.

👉That I'm fortunate to work with curious and persevering people with an enormous desire to learn.

👉I've learned that listening to students changes the way you teach.

👉And, above all, I've confirmed something I already suspected: repetition is key to learning a language, but repetition doesn't have to be boring.

That's precisely the idea behind the Bootcamp: Los Pasados

It came about because, after explaining past tenses hundreds of times over the years, I started wondering how I could help you practice in a clearer, more dynamic, and easier-to-retain way.

That's why the Bootcamp combines very short videos, exercises, interactive activities, songs, infographics, and a WhatsApp group where I'll answer your questions throughout July.

If you're still not sure how it works or want to see everything it includes, all the information is available now.

    👉 HERE

If after reading this you think it could be useful for you, I'd be happy to guide you this summer.

    And if not, no worries.

I hope you enjoy today's episode. It's a very special episode because you are the stars, and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for always being there for me.

    We'll be back in September.

    _____________________

Sometimes we think that to move forward we need to make big changes.

However, most of the time, big changes begin with small decisions. With the decision to start today and not put it off.

In fact, two episodes ago we talked about precisely that when we discussed the "Next Monday Theory": that tendency we have to postpone things we know would be good for us.

In today's episode, I want to talk to you about something very simple: how small daily actions, maintained over time, can completely transform your Spanish.

And remember that only those on the priority list will receive the discount code for this summer's Bootcamp.

A Bootcamp that will help you give structure, order, and clarity to your Spanish so that you arrive in September with more confidence and get much more out of your conversation classes.

A veces dudan.

There's something that happens time and time again among my students.

They're speaking, with varying degrees of fluency depending on their level, and suddenly they have to recount something that happened in the past. Then, doubts arise.

Sometimes they hesitate. Other times they use the wrong verb tense without realizing it.

And the curious thing is that this doesn't only happen at intermediate levels. It also happens at advanced levels.

    And with doubt comes frustration.

Having doubts isn't necessarily a bad thing. It doesn't mean you're stuck in your Spanish; in fact, many times it's precisely the opposite.

It means you've reached a very interesting phase where you're not content with just surviving; you want to live Spanish.

You want to speak precisely, sound more natural, you want to tell stories well. You're not satisfied with just being understood. And that's fantastic.

Sometimes, to overcome that apparent stagnation, those doubts, you just need to stop for a moment. Time to organize your thoughts and your knowledge. In short, to gain clarity.

    _______________________________

The Next Monday Theory isn't something you'll find in any psychology textbook, mainly because I made up the name.

It explains that the vast majority of us postpone what's important until later.

We look for milestones on the calendar: next Monday, New Year's Day, or the end of vacation. And right there, we run into summer.

    Summer polarizes us:

    Some freeze everything until September.

Others believe it's endless, plan a thousand things, and end up frustrated.

The balance lies in planning wisely. Resting, of course, but without underestimating the power of 30 minutes a day.

Half an hour a day allows you to enjoy the beach, family, and your plans. But it also ensures a smooth and organized landing in September.

To help you achieve this, I'm preparing a very different kind of summer course. It only requires half an hour a day to resolve those hidden blocks that are holding you back, and you'll arrive in September with great clarity and confidence in your Spanish.

If you want to be among the first to know, sign up for the priority list HERE.

We all have people who leave a mark on us in one way or another.

They might be siblings, parents, grandparents, friends…

And, every now and then, someone comes along who leaves a lasting impression not only on those who know them, but on entire generations. People who have something special. I don't know if it's their attitude, the passion with which they live, or that insatiable curiosity about the world.

In today's episode, I'll tell you the story of one of those men.

A lover of books, history, sports, science, and adventure.

Actually, he was in love with LIFE, in all its capital letters. And he shared that energy with everyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with him.

He lived a life straight out of a movie: he won an Olympic medal (although it was later taken away), was sentenced to death in the Congo, met Gandhi, Pablo Neruda, the Dalai Lama, Salvador Allende, and Fidel Castro… and for almost 40 years he traveled the world with thousands of teenagers in a kind of rite of passage that encouraged us to look further, be braver, and better understand the world.

This May marked the 10th anniversary of his death, and I wanted to pay my small tribute by telling his story.

I'll soon be presenting a new program I'm working on so you too can confidently tell stories using different past tenses 😉, Register on my website if you want to receive all the information. You can do so HERE.

    ______________

Attention has become a superpower that very few possess.

A discreet, silent, yet powerful superpower... very powerful.

I feel like in 2026 everything is moving too fast, so many changes are happening at breakneck speed, and there's a feeling of being left behind. Don't you feel the same?

However, those who possess the superpower of attention, those who stop, listen, and instead of multitasking, focus on just one thing, end up moving forward faster. Although this isn't a race.

Lately, I've seen it a lot among my students. The differences are becoming increasingly evident between those who have this superpower and those who don't.

And I also want to have that ability, and I've realized it, but it's not easy.

    Not easy at all.

Today I challenge you to listen to the new podcast episode without looking at your phone... do you think you can?

And if you'd like to receive my weekly newsletter to help you improve your Spanish with attention 😉, you can subscribe HERE.

Todavía estás a tiempo. Puedes solicitar tu plaza AQUÍ.

Did you know that at night, while we dream, our brain consolidates what we've learned during the day?

It also processes emotions and simulates threats in a safe environment. Dreaming is like "nighttime therapy", and I personally find it fascinating.

That's why, when one of my students told me last year, during the language immersion program in Ronda, that she "even dreamed in Spanish", I was incredibly excited. It meant that her Spanish was moving from short-term memory to the subconscious.

We still don't know much about what happens in the brain at night, although there are more and more studies. Today, in the new podcast episode, I'll talk about some of them.

And if you want to dream (finally) in Spanish, you'll have to come to Ronda on May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. There's still time. You can register HERE.

"I understand Spanish better than I can speak it."

It's a phrase I've heard hundreds of times, and several of you have mentioned it to me via email in the last few days. "I want to participate in the language immersion programme, but I'm not sure of my level. I understand Spanish better than I can speak it."

There's a widespread belief that 'when I improve my Spanish, I'll speak it better'.

But what if the problem is mental rather than linguistic? Progress is achieved by using the language, not by accumulating theory.

I discuss all of this in today's podcast episode.

🔥 I'd also like to remind you that you can still register for our language immersion programme in Ronda and receive a €50 discount. Just reserve your spot and enter the code RONDA26. You can book your place HERE.

Yes, your relationship with the Spanish language can change in just three days.

Imagine spending three days, 72 hours speaking only the language you want to learn and immersing yourself in Andalusian culture, cuisine and atmosphere with the help of a team of teachers.

That's what we do in language immersion programmes.

Spanish stops being the language you learn and becomes the language you live.

Are multilingual people more intelligent than average? What does science say about this?

How does this ability affect our brains? It's a fascinating topic. I won't reveal the conclusions of the studies, but I can share my experience.

Having taught Spanish for over 10 years, I can assure you that my students see the world differently.

Speaking a language isn't just about knowing hundreds of words, grammar rules and expressions; it's about connecting with different cultures, understanding those around you better and adopting a more flexible perspective on life.

Because, in my opinion, that's what it's all about: LIVING!

That's why I'm so HAPPY organizing the next Spanish immersion program on May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Because we're going to LIVE an experience through Spanish.

    ME ENCANTA.

There are several words that 90% of my students misuse.

Some of these are 'false friends': words that sound similar in your language but have different meanings in Spanish. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Some of these words will sound familiar, and others perhaps not so much.

The point is that you don't realize you're using them incorrectly until you start using them. Often, the person listening understands you and doesn't correct you.

That's why conversation classes are so effective. You practise, enjoy the process and, almost without realizing it, your Spanish improves.

Sometimes my students aren't even aware of how much they're improving. I take notes in every class and can therefore see their progress each month. Sometimes it's obvious and other times it's more subtle, but it's always there. That's what I love most about my job.

    I LOVE IT!

I think we Spaniards can be a bit whiny.

It's in our DNA and our culture, although we can complain with wit and humour. But the reality is that we complain when it's hot, when it's cold, when there are too many people around, and when there aren't enough people around. The pianist James already said it in his "open letter to the Spanish people" in 2018.

And, of course, since we complain so much, we have many expressions for it.

Today, I'm going to teach you five of them so that you can complain like a true Spaniard.
