భావం:
బాగా అందంగా ప్రకాశిస్తున్న నక్షత్రాలనే పూల చేత అలంకరింపబడిన ఆకాశమనే రంగస్థలంపై కాలమనే గొప్ప దర్శకుని యొక్క ప్రయత్నం చేత దిక్పాలకుల సమూహము ముందు చక్కగా నాట్యం చేయడానికి సిద్ధపడిన రాత్రి అనే స్త్రీకి అడ్డముగా నిలిపిన క్రొత్తదైనా లేత ఎర్రని రంగుగల పెద్ద తెర ఏమో అన్నట్లుగా పడమటి తీరంలోని సాయం సంధ్యా కాలం కొత్త వెలుగుతో ప్రకాశించినది. ద్మిని పతిభక్తి సత్వమున మేలిమికిం గుఱి దానపొమ్మనన్.
భావం:
సాటిలేని కాంతితో ప్రకాశిస్తున్న సూర్యుడిని చూసినట్లుగా తక్కువ కాంతితో ప్రకాశించేవారిని చూడడం తగదు అనుకున్నది పద్మిని. అందుచేత కదులుతున్న తుమ్మెద అనెడు కనుగ్రుడ్డుగల పద్మము అనే కంటిని వెంటనే మూసుకున్నది. ఇది పతిభక్తిలో తామరతీగ తనకు తానే సాటి అన్నట్లున్నది.
సూర్యుని కిరణాలతో పద్మాలు విచ్చుకుంటాయి. సూర్యుణ్ణి కమలప్రియుడు, కమలబాంధవుడు అని అంటారు. పద్మినికి, సూర్యునికి మధ్య గల సంబంధాన్ని భార్యాభర్తల అనుబంధంగా ఎఱ్ఱన చిత్రించాడు.
