This episode we will divert from our usual path on health topics and take a dive into the neurodiverse world as a Muslim. We explore some of the shared challenges we may face in our faith and worship as neurodiverse persons and some possible solutions.
These are some of the Hadeeth or Quran verses we used listed below:
Hadith Qudsi narrates that Allah ﷻ says: “Take one step towards me, I will take ten steps towards you. Walk towards me, I will run towards you.”
Indeed, ˹it is˺ We ˹Who˺ created humankind and ˹fully˺ know what their souls whisper to them, and We are closer to them than ˹their˺ jugular vein (50:16)
On the authority of Abu Dharr Jundub ibn Junadah, and Abu 'Abd-ir-Rahman Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with them) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:
"Be conscious of Allah wherever you are. Follow the bad deed with a good one to erase it, and engage others with beautiful character."Related by Tirmidhi
Allah does not require of any soul more than what it can afford. All good will be for its own benefit, and all evil will be to its own loss. ˹The believers pray,˺ “Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place a burden on us like the one you placed on those before us. Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our ˹only˺ Guardian. So grant us victory over the disbelieving people.” (2:286)
Narrated `Aisha R.A:
The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked, "What deeds are loved most by Allah?" He said, "The most regular constant deeds even though they may be few." He added, 'Don't take upon yourselves, except the deeds which are within your ability." Sahih al-Bukhari 6465
Of the wives of the Prophet (saws) asked him, "Who amongst us will be the first to follow you (i.e. die after you)?" He said, "Whoever has the longest hand." So they started measuring their hands with a stick and Sauda’s (raa) hand turned out to be the longest.
When Zainab bint Jahsh (raa) died first of all in the caliphate of ‘Umar (raa), we came to know that the long hand was a symbol of practicing charity, so she was the first to follow the Prophet (saws) and she used to love to practice charity.
