  • Did you know God made you MORE than your disease, and He has a purpose for you?

No matter how many needle sticks you get that make you shout “Ow!” or scary tests that make you want to scream or cold waiting rooms you have to sit in that make you feel small - God sees you, your bravery, and the MORE He created you to be.

Whitney Lane Ward is a public speaker and writer who encourages audiences to overcome their circumstances. As someone with a disability, it is her wish to give hope to others with illnesses so they will scale the mountains they face.

The author’s disease began when she was a little girl, so Whitney knows first-hand the emotions and feelings children experience and the frightening unknowns they face. In this book, Whitney encourages every child who’s battling a disease to see themselves how God sees them and shout the powerful message to the world— “I am MORE!”

She was the first person in the world to be diagnosed with the disease she has. She also had the honor of naming it!

The name I chose was MAGIS Syndrome. MAGIS means “more,” in Latin and I want anyone who is diagnosed with this disease to know that they are MORE!

Taryn never planned to be a writer— she was a middle school math teacher for a couple of years. But, being a voracious reader as a kid gave her a love for words (and working with middle-schoolers gave her a sense of humor).

It seemed like a good idea to combine the two (words and humor) and voila, her first book was born. Truthfully, the first book was a fluke. She sat down to write a poem about Moses and ended up writing a fraction book about a cow. Who knew?

It worked so well the first time, she has continued to try writing poetry and has ended up with a book each time! Ok. Not really. But, she does enjoy the writing process so much, that she kept with it and has enjoyed some success along the way.

A brush with a hungry crocodile, a kerosene fire, and getting lost alone in the jungle—at night—are the least of Brock’s worries when he’s captured by rival hunters.

With the help of his friends, Brock and his missionary family work hard not only to bring peace to the opposing groups, but to spread the love of Jesus and translate God’s Word. Will they succeed, or are pride and fear too strong to overcome?

  • Would you rather be a famous hunter or a lowly shepherd? Jered thinks he knows the answer to that question when the mighty hunter Nimrod comes to his rescue. But is Nimrod the hero Jered thinks he is? And is Nimrod right when he claims the tower will make their people famous?

Follow the adventures of Jered and his friends as they encounter dangerous creatures, face perilous storms, and learn the importance of obedience to God during a unique period of biblical history.

The Tower tells the account of the Tower of Babel from the perspective of three children. When the mighty hunter Nimrod saves the children from a monster attack, Jered wants to be like him. But is Nimrod really the hero Jered thinks he is? After a conversation with his ancestor Shem, Jered wonders if their people are being disobedient to God. If they are, what judgment might God bring? Join Jered and his friends as they battle dangerous creatures, face perilous storms, and learn to rely on God when hope seems lost.

Enjoy this reading of The Tower by Evonne Krell...

Evonne Krell grew up on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. She has written and edited Sunday school and homeschool Bible curricula, VBS materials, and children’s books for Answers in Genesis for over six years. Before devoting her attention to full-time writing, she taught private piano lessons and spent a year teaching children with a revival ministry in churches across the US. Her award-winning story “The Red Priest” about Antonio Vivaldi was published in Clubhouse magazine in 2010. Evonne currently lives in Northern Kentucky, where she enjoys ice hockey, martial arts, and teaching her third-grade Sunday school class.

Evonne wants readers to experience a unique period in biblical history that is often overlooked. The events at the tower of Babel give valuable lessons about God’s judgment and mercy and the origin of the nations and languages we have today. The Bible says that we are all “one blood.” We are all descendants of Noah’s family, who separated into different language groups and scattered around the world. I hope people understand that there is only one race, the human race, which Jesus came to save.

Interesting facts: Evonne is a dual citizen of Canada and the United States of America. She has been friends with the book’s illustrator since they were four years old.
