We have a hilarious guest on TYPP! this week. It's comedian Jake Silberman who has spent a majority of the past three years living in a van, as he tours the country performing stand up. We delve into the inner-workings of the psychology of the man who lives in the van. What's it like? How dark does it get? How does it feel to live outside of society? Are there any surprisingly positive aspects? Also in this episode, JFOD reveals a very embarrassing, yet hilarious (after the fact) interaction he had with one of his comedy heroes, Maria Bamford. Ben discusses how comedy has helped him cultivate a sense of purpose + lots more.

TYPP is thrilled to have Clinical Psychologist, Billy Somerville, on the show. Billy and John cover a lot in the episode. Among other things, they have a venting session about the current state of our mental health system. Billy also explains the non-hierarchical worker-cooperative made up of social workers, a psychologist, and an administrator that he helped pioneer. His group is one of the first in the country to have this type of worker-run business model in the mental health space. Mental health professionals all over the country are now trying to emulate it. This is fascinating talk. Please enjoy it and spread the word!
