Construction in Australia.... one of the hardest things to navigate at the moment.
It's as much of a buzz word as "inflation". Do we build, do we renovate, or how do we add value to our homes and portfolios.
Construction has become so hard and expensive that it makes people think twice about their next move. We have Rob Romanella from Huxley Building Group to share his insights on what is happening on the ground. Both as a developer, and an active builder. This is important because we need to have balance and right now we don't.
Listen in to hear about what we are seeing about
Trades and why service is so bad BIG BUILD and how this is impacting the domestic game How interstate might or could changeTimes are changing in the building game, prices are here to stay, but there is an incredible amount of room for improvement. We need construction to once again become a service based industry.

This week we chat about the possibility that the government is going to honour the fiscal policy with too much conviction. The Economy is responding, yet they are looking in the rear view mirror. Will they leave the current strategy in place for too long forcing australia into a recession (if we're not already in one).
We talk about the banks and how they have their ear to the ground in real time, they know what people are spending, what their savings looks like, and how much pressure we're under. We believe the banks are pricing in rate cuts already.
This episode is designed to give you a QUICK update in simple terms of where we see the state of the property, banking and economic market.

We then chat about the state of the Australian economic outlook. WE ARE NOT ECONOMIST!!! We also think that even economists can't get it right. We chat about the outlook being virtually impossible to predicted greater than 3 or so months at the moment.
Are we relying on old and no longer valid metrics to determine a healthy economy?

In this week's episode, we chat about the first Interest Rate rise in over a decade.
Is this a good or bad thing for our property market? How will this impact the thousands of people that borrowed their limit last year? What to be careful of.We laugh about the election and how the media has made a reality TV show out of it. It's becoming irrelevant who is in power. How low valuations could come in and play a part in a softening market.Winter is coming!!! People are travelling, people are spending, businesses are booming, unemployment is at an all time low, things seem okay, so how does this make things different this time.We like to keep it light, but we like to cover off on these topics that are extremely important right now. You need to keep an eye on your own affairs and this is important that you take ownership of your own fate.
Also don't forget to check out the show sponsor www.ratetracker.com.au to see how you can let open banking technology protect you from the choppy interest rate market ahead.

Sean and Anthony speak about "Open Banking".. what on earth is open banking? How will it affect Australian's and will you be able to benefit by using platforms that use open banking technology.
The government have endorsed this, the banks are on board, it's huge in the UK and the US... Now what will Aus do.
There is no doubt the media will hype this as unsafe, even knowing it uses the same technology the banks use... the banks won't encourage it either. The Government is making the banks participate so that consumers can easily compare their products and services against other providers.... this means, their less than desirable pricing will easily be caught out.
We talk about the changes in the space, the government adaptation, the banking adaptation, and what's next.

The news has had a field day in 2020 and Sean & Anthony are frankly sick of it. Today's media have mislead the entire world reporting polar opposite stories from one day to the next on the same topics. We live in a time where it is better to be the first to report on a story and to get "clicks", yet there is no praise given to being right. Sean and Anth chat about the majority of news programs being unreliable, they chat about:
The real stats around Property and buyer sentiment based on real numbers, not rubbish headlines in the Herald sunThe "Home Builder Grant" - first home buyers grant, and other grants available to first home buyersHow you can buy a property in country Victoria with only a land depositThe lack of governing that journalists have to adhere to before media goes to printIs the rental market at risk more than any bubble burstingWhere the most reliable sources of news are for Sean and AnthIs it time for a civilian run news hub, maybe via socials, either way its time for change in the way the media report.
Hope you enjoy this one!
