  • To be in God's presence is to be filled with joy (Psalm 16:11). In light of this truth, why do so many of us experience a lack of joy? We know Yahweh is with us, so what is it that keeps us from receiving it? In this episode we explore what could hinder us from receiving the joy that is so readily available to us. Our discussion leads to the realization that our attempts to live in our strength has hidden the joy that has been placed in our hearts through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Join us as we seek the Lord to restore us to the joy of our salvation.

  • After reflecting on Sylvia’s 610Fit journey and the joy she experienced in her suffering, the Lord led us to explore the topic of joy. I realized being joyful is somewhat unfamiliar to me, and you may find it is with you as well. Happiness, anxiety, and sadness can often hide from our eyes the joy the Lord has gifted us with. Even so, we are meant to experience joy and without it, we cannot accurately demonstrate who God is to the world. This episode explores all the different aspects of joy, with the hope the Lord will use it to restore us to the joy of our salvation.

  • God’s timing is always perfect, and now is the time for Sylvia Vera to share her story of becoming strong in the Lord. Sylvia’s story begins as the burdens of life from childhood to adulthood had her feeling left behind and lost. In her brokenness, she asked the Lord to catch her up physically and spiritually. The Lord responds to her prayer and faithfully begins the process of bringing beauty from the ashes. Sylvia's heart for the Lord reminds us that when the struggles of life resemble a downpour, instead of drowning we can find joy in the Lord and maybe we can even sing in the rain.

  • As we conclude our series on making a name for ourselves, Amanda and I discuss the process of going from living for our name to living to glorify God. Our conversation leads us to dive into more detail about what it means to trust in the name of the Lord. The most important thing we walk away with is the understanding that the Lord is with us as we decide to deny ourselves take up our cross, and follow Jesus.

  • We begin our discussion by examining the idea of our name and the desire to be known that lives inside of us. Our name is more than a label given to us at birth, it becomes the reputation we are known by. The behaviors we pursue in life are often created to reflect how our name is portrayed before people. Our choice to follow these patterns is rooted in our innate desire to be known. This episode examines the way we carry our name with the call to take up our cross and follow Jesus. What does it truly mean to give our lives to Jesus? How does that impact the things we do for our namesake? Join us as we further explore what it means to make a name for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  • Venturing deeper into the topic of making a name for ourselves, we see how Hollywood stands out as the quintessential example of this mentality found in Genesis 11. In this episode, we place the concept behind Hollywood against the backdrop of the incident at Babel. What we find is that our society has been influenced heavily by the same mindset of those who were building Babylon. What are the similarities? Is there a bigger motive at play? We seek the answer to these questions through the understanding that we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Join us for part 2 of To Make a Name.

  • It’s time to kick off a new series called To Make a Name. We will focus on the importance of understanding the dangers of living by the motive of making a name for ourselves. Our exploration of this concept begins with the story of Babel. Unfortunately, the society we live in today is centered around the Babel incident and we must seek awareness from Christ on how to change our course so it is no longer our name being made great, but the name of the Lord.

  • In this episode, Amanda opens up about her journey to becoming strong in the Lord. Initially she felt drained in her everyday life and decided to begin exercising at 610Fit to regain her energy. As she invited the Lord into her exercise goals, Amanda realized her fatigue was more of a spiritual issue than a physical one. Through her journey, God revealed that true strength comes from Him—boosting her energy, easing her anxiety, and transforming her daily life. Along the way, Amanda's connection to Scripture deepened, opening her eyes to the truth of who God was. Her story is a powerful reminder of God’s desire to strengthen us in every aspect of our lives, and the profound impact that strength can have on how we live day to day.

  • In this episode, we spend time in Zechariah 4:6-7. These verses address the Old Testament temple restoration project that awaited the Jews returning from exile. In the New Testament, we are the temple and have our own restoration project. Referencing these verses will help us explore the similarities between their building project and ours. One of the most important things we will see is how the work was to be accomplished. It could only be done by divine power, not by human power. How can this truth empower us as God’s people to be restored to the Lord and fully given over for His purposes?

  • 2 Corinthians 12:9 says God’s grace is sufficient for us, but what exactly does that mean? This episode is about Jenny's experience with the Lord, where He taught her how to receive grace through her weakness. God has used this experience to bring light to the way a surrendered heart opens up a place for the Lord to gift us the ability to function as His people through grace. Join us as we hear Jenny’s story of grace and discuss how being in our strength keeps us from demonstrating to the world the love of Christ.

  • As we move into the new year we often take time to analyze the past and explore what can be done to make the future better. This year, the Temple Restoration Project hopes to encourage the Body of Christ to turn away from goals that aim to make a name for ourselves, so that we come together to make a name for the Lord. In this episode we begin to discuss the topic of coming together for one purpose and explore concepts to help us move forward in becoming who God created us to be.

  • Suzie Devorsky joins us in this episode to share her journey to becoming strong in the Lord. Together we explore what the Lord has taught her on the journey, including what it looks like to be still and how to yield daily to what the Lord has for us. We discuss a 20-mile walk she did by faith and how she saw the Lord’s hand guiding her during her training and on the day of the walk. Suzie also reveals a new adventure the Lord is taking her on, where she hopes to encourage others to seek the Lord as their strength (Psalm 105:4).You can listen to The Temple Restoration Project on FaithChannel

  • We are wrapping up a series of episodes where we have been discussing what it looks like to set our minds on Christ rather than our behavior. This concept often feels complicated to grasp because we live in a world so focused on the importance of creating healthy and proper behaviors. Because of this, we begin with a quick review of the previous 3 episodes. After reviewing, we dive into the most important concept of all, Christ’s love for us, and how His love influences our process of behavior change. We explore the truth that God doesn’t demand us to change our behavior but rather our changed behavior is evidence that we are being restored back to the love of Christ.

  • In this episode, we continue discussing behavior change and how it should be approached differently when living by faith. We begin to direct our attention to the concept of habit development. We start with a reminder and explanation of God’s warning that the Body of Christ, is exercising naked. Then, we connect the dots to understand how attempting to change our behavior through our strength is stripping us of who we are clothed in Christ. As we learn more about behaviors and habits, we will discover that it is only our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who can change our behaviors, enabling us to become who we were created to be.

  • In this episode we continue our discussion on what it means to focus on our Savior instead of our behaviors. We follow up our last episode by looking more into the significance of our desires. Scripture states that our desires come from our hearts, but what exactly does that mean? To understand this, we explore what God says to be true about our hearts and how that truth influences our behavior. We also take time to understand who it is we are becoming and what this has to do with our desires. Join us in our discussion that sheds light on the truth, that when our eyes are focused on our Savior, He will change our behaviors.

  • In past episodes we have discussed what it means to be fit, now it's time to discuss what it means to be unfit. When we feel unfit, we can experience feelings of insecurity and unworthiness. This often creates a desire to avoid being unfit, which results in a drive to become fit. Is this the way we were created to function? This episode looks through the lens of faith, to see how a change in perspective can restore feelings of security and worthiness. We discuss the importance of a renewed understanding of this term and what it means that in Christ we are fit to be unfit.
