We’ll bet that the fraud alleged in the attached video happens all over the place and not just in Minnesota and California.
*We’ll be back with a weeky crony wrap next week.

We are told time after time that government intervention will make things more affordable, yet time after time it does exactly the opposite. We take a look at a report on the post millennial economy from AEI.

Sam Altman says that AI is essentially Too Big To Fail. In the end, if an AI bubble bursts, the US government will be there to bail the industry out. He and and his buddies will be insulated. Nothing to worry about.
It is this kind of attitude that makes many young (and not so young) people throw up their hands in exasperation. If the crony system, essentially socialist capitalism for the rich and the connected, is structured to make the rich richer via the state, why not look to the state to provide basic needs? If capitalism means cronyism (it doesn’t, but this is the perception of many) why not vote to get one’s (meager) piece of the pie just like the connected guys? This is the kind of thinking that motivated many of the people who voted for Mamdani on Tuesday. They made what can be considered a rational choice.

Mamdani appears to have run a campaign focusing on the economically and politically ignorant. But he has also been disciplined when his opponents have not been. He has hustled when his viable opponents have not. As a result, New York, one time cradle of capitalism, may soon be run by a completely out of the closet Marxist. Additionally, New York, the second largest Jewish city in the world, may soon be run by a strident enemy of many (all?) things Jewish.
South Florida real estate agents wait by their phones patiently for final election results.

Most of the debate regarding food stamps of late has been around who should be getting them. What is almost never talked about is the fact that EBT means billions for the giant food conglomerates.
The number one most purchased item with food stamps? Sugar soda. Do you think Coca-Cola or PepsiCo want anyone messing with their taxpayer funded cash cow?

Above we see actual, grown up, progress. USAID was in many respects, we know now thanks to DOGE, a taxpayer money laundering scheme for connected cronies. As Rubio points out above, only 12 cents of every USAID dollar actually made it to “recipients”. The rest got siphoned off along the way.
The establishment, to whom USAID has given so much is upset of course, from Bush to Obama, to CNN. But that’s OK. In fact, that’s more than OK. It’s very good indeed.

Anything short of all out, regime changing war is unacceptable to many of the neoconservatives still hanging around Washington DC. One would think that a full quarter century of abject failure would tell them they were wrong. One might think that they’d get a clue that their whole international relations philosophy was bankrupt. But no. The neocons want your kids on the ground in Iran. Why? Because we, the United States is under threat?
No, that’s not why.

No kings? You are darn right no kings. But where were you a few years ago as the administrative state ran over the everyday person in practically all manners of life. Where were you when the “kings” insisted, under penalty of losing one’s livelihood, that people needed to inject themselves with experimental “vaccines” that made Pharma executives billionaires? Where were you when teacher’s unions blew up the educations of children because they wanted an extended vacation? Where were you when the big stores were allowed to stay open while politicians forced small businesses into bankruptcy all to perpetuate what they knew (at that point) was a farce? Where where you when when the online goons, sponsored by the US government in violation of the First Amendment censored the speech of everyday people? Where were you then? The people who are ACTUALLY against kings sure could have used you then.
But no, you were doing the work of the “kings”, snitching on your neighbors, wearing masks for no reason, perpetuating the giant crony capitalist Pharma machine that saw you as a human ATM. No you, in the streets, still wearing the masks, in some cases being paid by crony NGOs to do the bidding of “kings”, WANT kings.

We’re OK with borders. Open borders with an active welfare state creates more state and more cronyism in our estimation. There is no free labor market in the US and as such throwing the borders open to all workers from all over the world without exception, but with all the manipulation of the American labor market and an extensive welfare state is a recipe for chaos. This is an area where there is a (and has been a longstanding) split in the liberty movement.
All that aside I think it’s funny to hear Bernie basically making Trump’s case, vociferously.
American politics has changed a lot in the past decade. It’s unclear still how all the political shuffling is going to work out. What is a “Republican” and what is a “Democrat” is shifting pretty quickly.

We believe there are four fronts on what may end up becoming a global conflict, Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and the Sahel in Africa.
Of the four fronts the last one is the least known by Americans. For the French and the Russians however, the Sahel, the transition area between the Sahara and the wetter equatorial parts of Africa, is front of mind.
Over the past half decade the region, dominated by France for decades, has been upended. Part of the reason for the chaos is that Russia’s Wagner Group (now called the Russian Africa Corps), was facilitating at least some of the unrest in the region.
Macron and France got punched in the nose by Russia in Africa. This is (likely) part of the reason Paris has been ratcheting up the rhetoric toward Moscow with regard to Ukraine of late.

As I mention in the video, what Schellenberger reports on here is pretty similar to what we’ve been warning about for over a decade. Basically, embedded kill switches are right out of the Chinese Army’s warfare playbook. Literally.
In 1999 two Chinese Colonels wrote a book called Unrestricted Warfare, where the authors outline using novel methods to achieve war fighting goals. I remember that in it the authors considered how to use exploding appliances manufactured in China that could be ignited via embedded software whenever Beijing was inclined to cause chaos. (Like say during a war over Taiwan.) That was the passage that made the biggest impression on me anyway. The image of toasters in kitchens all over America going haywire one random morning just burned into my brain.I need to go back and look at the book again.

The truth is most of the GOP doesn’t want to really mess with the government golden goose. (It lays golden eggs for them. The taxpayers, we get bad eggs over and over.)
The Washington GOP will talk a good game about “fiscal responsibility” but ultimately, if cutting government, even the very modest cuts DOGE has given us the opportunity to realize, messes with senators or members, or even more importantly, their sponsors, “fiscal responsibility” is not going to happen. The Senate and the House, even after all the changes we’ve seen, is still much more Mitch McConnell than it is Rand Paul. There is a reason Rand Paul was never in the running for Senate leadership. He actually wants to cut government. Most Republicans? Not really.

It has to be said that we at ACC are, have been, and will continue to be very pro legal immigration. But we are also Against Crony Capitalism, and Medicaid is chock full of crony capitalism. From the people receiving the benefit who aren’t even US citizens, to the bureaucrats who work within the system, to Pharma lobbying for different medicines to be covered, to the fact that many of the people who cost the most to cover on Medicaid have spent lives eating subsidized “food” that has contributed to their heart dsease and diabetes, it’s all a nasty web of cronyism. But for Congressman Jeffries to grandstand and assert that taxpayers aren’t funding Medicaid for illegal imigrants is pretty bold. He knows what DOGE found (for instance, we include what they found in the video) but he asserts what he asserts none-the-less. Plus he throws in a couple more whoppers for good meaure.

We are pleased to see Jake Tapper getting it from all sides on this. Both Megan Kelly and Jon Stewart (and others) have pointed out that Tapper was complicit in the coverup.
Let’s just say that we won’t be buying Mr. Tapper’s book.
The old media, the “legacy” media, has practically no credibility at this point.

John Brennan, onetime head of the CIA (Rand Paul warned us when Brennan was confirmed), disgraced architect of the Hunter Biden censorship fiasco, one time Communist Party USA voter (he voted for Gus Hall in 1976, Carter wasn’t “liberal” enough for him), deep state final level boss, is upset that his people have been fired at CIA. He’s upset that his connection to the inside might have been cut.
Well, too bad.

For the record anything you see here is written the old fashioned way, no AI. But I do use it for tasks all the time. It’s like having a great employee that I don’t have to pay. The power of off-the-shelf ChatGPT is truly mind blowing.
Artificial Intelligence is also about to disrupt many things, from emplyment, to politics, to even what we consider to be “life”. I have a reasonable incling, and it’s only that, an incling, of what is coming at us in the pretty short term. But I fear that many people will be blindsided.
From a fighting crony capitalism perspective, it is clear that AI as of this moment, can probably do at least half of the jobs in government. That’s good. There should be an AI “dividend” for taxpayers, especially as they watch their employment situation change in a big way.

There are people who make things, who create actual wealth. Then there are those who try to siphon the wealth legitimately made by others for their own ends. Bernie is one of these. He is literally a government oligarch. That someone who has become a millionaire singing the praises of Marx and making life hard for the legitimate part of the economy/society is preaching at us about privliage is absurd. The only thing more absurd are the people who don’t even know they are being exploited by the likes of Bernie and Co.

The first Pope to come from the United States, and arguably America’s most Catholic large city. Initial word is that he is a “moderate”. He’s against female ordination for instance, but some say he is like the the prior Pope on some other important social issues. We’ll soon find out.
