Many of us feel torn between our business goals and our kids on a daily basis. For women like me, who are trying to keep their kids at home full-time, while also running a business, every day feels like a tug-of-war. When I came back from maternity leave this fall, I connected with so many women who were able to balance being a full-time mom and business owner at the same time, and I was so encouraged by their stories and advice - so I decided to invite a few of them onto the podcast to speak to you too!
If you’ve ever wondered if it’s truly possible to do both—and do them well—this two-part podcast episode is for you. You will hear from 9 incredible women, each with a unique story of how they built their businesses while keeping their kids at home full-time. Some of these women you’ve heard on my podcast before, and others I’ve never met prior to this episode. Regardless of how they started, their paths are full of practical wisdom, candid truths, and inspiration to encourage you on your own journey.
This isn’t just a highlight reel of success stories—it’s a real and raw look at the challenges, sacrifices, and creative solutions these women have used to make it work. From structuring their days around naptimes to setting boundaries, managing client expectations, and finding support in their community, these women have found ways to build meaningful businesses without losing sight of their family priorities.
Whether you’re considering keeping your kids at home or you’re already in the thick of it and feeling stretched too thin, these stories will help you feel seen, understood, and encouraged.

Ever feel like your to-do list is never-ending, and no matter how many time management books you read, nothing quite works for you? You're not alone! In this episode of The Business Edit, I sit down with Anna Dierman Kornick, a time management coach, author, and host of It's About Time. We dive into why traditional time management strategies might be failing you and how to create a system that suits your personality, lifestyle, and unique needs.
Anna shares her journey from working in crisis communication to becoming a time management pro, revealing the lessons she learned along the way about burnout, boundaries, and finding balance. We also discuss why a “one-size-fits-all” approach doesn’t work, especially for busy women juggling multiple responsibilities. Anna introduces her "Heart Method" and emphasizes the importance of tailoring your productivity techniques to match your personality, not forcing yourself to fit someone else’s mold.
If you’re tired of feeling overwhelmed and ready to manage your time in a way that aligns with your life and business, this episode is for you. Tune in to get practical tips on tackling your to-dos, managing your energy, and finding the right balance that works for YOU. Whether you're a business owner, mom, or anyone trying to navigate a packed schedule, Anna’s insights will leave you with actionable steps to apply today. Imagine having a personal assistant who’s available 24/7, helping you generate marketing content, manage your schedule, and brainstorm new ideas—all without costing you a cent. That's what happened to Alex Beyers when she started using ChatGPT to run her business. At first, she approached it with caution, but before long, ChatGPT became her secret weapon for creating high-quality content at lightning speed.
If you’re like many business owners who’ve tried ChatGPT and thought, “This is garbage,” you’re not alone. But the key, as Alex explains, lies in how you use it.
Rather than treating ChatGPT like a robot that can magically solve all your problems, think of it as a new team member that needs training. It’s not just about getting it to create content, but about making it sound like your content. This is where most people get stuck—they skip the crucial step of training ChatGPT to understand their business, brand voice, and unique selling points. Think of it like hiring a new VA: if you don’t provide context, you’ll only get generic results.
To learn more about how Alex uses ChatGPT to streamline her business and to hear all the in-depth tips she shared, tune in to the full episode of The Business Edit podcast. This could be the spark you need to level up your marketing without adding more to your plate!

Simple living is trending, and it's easy to see why. The idea of slowing down and living a simple life is dreamy. Pair that dream with the aesthetic homesteading, sourdough, and morning routine content on Instagram and we're all saying, "sign me up for that"! But if so many of us crave a slow and simple life, why aren't more of us making it happen?
When you think of simplifying your life, you might imagine living off grid, wearing floral maxi dresses, or becoming a "trad wife." But simplicity doesn’t have to look like a Pinterest-worthy kitchen or making all your food from scratch. It’s about two key principles:
Systemizing What’s Most Important: This means setting up systems for your personal health, relationships, home, and business so it doesn’t feel hard or complicated to show up for your daily life.Living at a Human Pace: It’s about enjoying your daily life in the season you’re in, not rushing through it constantly waiting for the “next season.”In this episode, I'm breaking down 4 must haves for simplifying your life, and how to make this hard, but worthwhile, lifestyle goal a reality. Press play for the challenge and encouragement you need to make small but mighty life shifts, slow down, and start living more simply.

Are you even aware of all the ways that you're living your life by default? There's this thing called the "default effect" that shows us that we're more likely to choose options that are given to us as the default choices. And it makes sense, right?! Decision fatigue is real and we make around 35,000 decisions each day. Who can blame us for wanting to not think about a decision and go with the default option every now and then?
But here's where default living becomes a problem... the decisions that are given to us as the default are not always aligned to the type of life or business that we want to build. And when we live too much of our lives by default, we start to feel the effects of living a bland life that doesn't light us up. In this episode, I'm sharing what it could look like for you to opt out of default living and live more intentionally, starting with three default decisions that I see many women opting into (and that are making them miserable). Press play to opt out, live differently, and gain the encouragement you need to make tough decisions that are more aligned to your ideal life.

As business owners, it's easy to fall into the endless learning cycle, where we're depending on someone else to give us the answer. But what if you could look internally to find the answers you're endlessly searching for? What if the solution to leveling up your business was to lean into your natural giftings, leverage the way that you were uniquely designed, and finally start listening to that little voice inside yourself that knows exactly what to do?
In this episode, my good friend Rhannon Janke is sharing how truly knowing yourself as a business owner can help you find clarity and do less. Rhannon and I have been business friends for years, and we've leaned on each other to share our unique giftings and speak into each others' businesses. As a brand strategist, Rhannon is extremely gifted in helping business owners build brands that don't just look good, but feel good. In this episode, we cover a variety of topics including how to interpret and leverage your human design, what it takes to rebuild your brand after burnout, and how to create more potent, on-brand content for your business. Press play to get the pep talk you need to build the business you actually want to lead!

This week, I'm bringing you a special conversation with my friend Haley Thomas from the Passion Pursuit Podcast. You may remember Haley from episode 021, where she brought her expertise on building out a retreat offer to the podcast. Recently, I sat down with Haley to talk about ways that you can find clarity when you're spinning in indecision. If you find yourself overthinking things, spending too much time analyzing your choices, or just feeling stuck, this episode is for you. As a recovering perfectionist, and someone who loves data, I've learned the hard way that spinning in indecision is not productive. It's better to make the wrong decision quickly (and learn from it quickly) than to waste time trying to come up with the perfect solution. Press play to learn how to stop feeling stuck and start taking more courageous action in your business.

What comes to mind when you think of a 'weekly planning routine'? Do you envision someone sitting down in a quiet space for an hour, thoughtfully detailing a minute by minute plan for their entire week? Don't get me wrong, I love a good extended planning session, but week to week, that's just not realistic for most women. And the good news is you can become a really effective planner, even if you only have 5 minutes in between meetings, naps, or errands.
When you enter your week with a clear plan in place, you eliminate a lot of unnecessary stress, set yourself up to focus on what actually matters in your business, and put yourself back in the drivers seat of your life. In this episode, I'm going to walk you step-by-step through my weekly planning routine, and what it actually takes to be able to plan a productive week in 5 minutes or less!

If you're struggling to make consistent progress on your business goals, you may be overdue for a CEO Day. A CEO Day is a monthly day set aside for you to reflect on what’s happening in your business and make intentional, strategic decisions about how to move forward. I almost think of this like a self-care practice for business owners, because when you're able to set aside time to plan out each month intentionally, you can enter each week knowing exactly what to focus on to grow your business. It makes pursuing big goals as a business owner more straightforward, less stressful, and more fun! Every business is different, which means every CEO Day will look different too. That's why I've created a free guide to help you design your own CEO Day checklist using the 3-step process I lay out in this episode. Click here to download the free CEO Day checklist guide and press play to learn how I implement this 3-step process in my own business each month.

Brooke Happe is a mom of three who stepped away from her career as a Doctor of Physical Therapy to follow her heart to stay home with her kids. She taught herself to crochet to keep her hands strong, fully expecting to return to therapy once the kids grew older. Other moms asked where to buy her beanie from and her business, b.e.happe, was born. In 2019, the Happe family sold everything to travel the U.S. After 5 years of full time travel and running the business from the road, they purchased a home base in Texas to use between their travels and focus on intentional living.
In this episode, Brooke shares what it really takes to live an intentional life, and the joys and hardships her family has experienced over 5 years living on the road. If you're considering making a change or feeling a call to do things differently, I hope this episode gives you the encouragement you need to build a life you love, take risks, and live on purpose.
