Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is July 8th.

On this fine day, we are celebrating National Chocolate with Almonds Day. Yes, you heard that right—it's a day dedicated to enjoying the delightful combination of smooth chocolate and crunchy almonds.

If you needed an excuse to indulge in a delicious treat, well, here it is! And if anyone questions your snacking habits, just tell them you’re participating in a national celebration. It’s practically your patriotic duty.

And yes, I'm aware that yesterday was National Chocolate Day and today is National Chocolate with Almonds Day... You might ask how can I have chocolate two days in row?

No you probably wouldn't ask that...

Our quote for today comes from none other than the famous author Roald Dahl, who once said,

"A little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men."

Now, let's savor this quote like a fine piece of chocolate with almonds, shall we?

Dahl, known for his whimsical and fantastical stories, reminds us of the value of lightheartedness and whimsy. Life can often be serious, filled with responsibilities and stress, but even the wisest among us understand the importance of taking a moment to enjoy some nonsense and fun.

Much like chocolate with almonds, which combines the sweetness of chocolate and the wholesome crunch of almonds, balancing the whimsical with the wise makes life a bit more delightful.

It’s about enjoying the little moments and letting yourself indulge in some silliness every now and then. After all, who says wisdom and fun can’t go hand in hand?

So, today, as you bite into that chocolate with almonds, remember Roald Dahl’s words. Embrace a little nonsense in your day. Tell a silly joke, watch a funny video, or simply do something that brings a smile to your face.

In the grand scheme of things, these small moments of joy are what make life truly sweet.

Thank you for joining me today on The Daily Quote. Enjoy your National Chocolate with Almonds Day, and remember to cherish those bits of nonsense.

And if you think this podcast is a bunch of nonsense then hit the follow or subscribe button to get more nonesense tomorrow...

I'm Andrew McGivern signing off for today, looking forward to sharing more with you tomorrow. Have a wonderful day!

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is July 7th.

Let's dive right in, shall we?

Today is National Chocolate Day! A day dedicated to celebrating that delightful treat that has brought joy to our taste buds and, let’s be honest, our souls. Whether it's dark, milk, white, or any creative concoction in between, chocolate has a special place in many hearts.

In honor of this sweet celebration, I've chosen a quote from the beloved author and humorist, Erma Bombeck. She once said,

"Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the 'Titanic' who waved off the dessert cart."

Erma Bombeck had a knack for combining humor with wisdom, and this quote is a perfect example. On National Chocolate Day, it serves as a delightful reminder to indulge in the simple pleasures of life. Sometimes, we get so caught up in being overly cautious or sticking to strict routines that we forget to enjoy the small joys.

Think about it. How often have you skipped a treat or a fun activity because you were trying to be "good"? While discipline has its place, so does joy. And sometimes, that joy comes in the form of a piece of chocolate.

Remember Oscar Wilde's quote from a couple of days ago... Everything in Moderation, including moderation.

So, today, let’s take Erma’s advice to heart. Whether it’s enjoying a chocolate bar, savoring a rich brownie, or indulging in a creamy hot chocolate, give yourself permission to seize the moment and delight in a sweet treat. Life is unpredictable, and sometimes, a little chocolate is just what you need to brighten your day.

Thank you for joining me today on The Daily Quote. Remember, take a moment to indulge and savor the sweetness of life, just like a piece of your favorite chocolate. But before you bite into that delicious piece of choc 0 la please take a second to follow or subscribe in your podcast app and that will make sure you see another great quote tomorrow too.

Have a wonderful day, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow.

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is July 6th...

It is International Kissing Day. Yes, it’s a day dedicated to the simple yet profound act of showing affection through a kiss. Whether it’s a peck on the cheek, a kiss on the hand, or a romantic smooch, today is all about spreading love and joy.

Now, let's move on to today's quote, which comes from the beloved Dr. Seuss:

Dr. Seuss is popular here on the daily quote - this is the third quote from Dr. Seuss, who wonce said...

"You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams."

Dr. Seuss captures the essence of what it means to be in love and how those tender moments, like a kiss, can make reality feel magical. Just like a kiss, love has the power to make the mundane extraordinary, to transform our everyday experiences into something remarkable.

So, as you go about your day, perhaps you can share a kiss with someone special. Remember that it’s the small gestures that often carry the most meaning and can brighten someone’s day in the most unexpected ways.

I was listening to a podcast with Peter Diamondis where they were talking about Blue Zones and why people live longer, healthy lives in certain geographic areas and demographic groups...

One of the contributers to a long, healthy life is having a purpose. A reason to jump out of bed in the morning. Peter's guest said that the two most dangerous years in terms of mortality risk are the year you are born and the year you retire. When you are a newborn there is an infant mortality risk and when you retire you lose your purpose.

So remember what Dr. Seuss says... You know your in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.

Just like being in love with someone can keep you up at night... having a purpose can give you a driving force in your life.

Thank you for joining me today on The Daily Quote. I hope this touch of whimsy and affection adds a bit of magic to your day. Enjoy your International Kissing Day, and remember to spread the love. Until tomorrow, take care!

    Bisous!

Did you know that today is National Workaholics Day? Yes, that's right, a day dedicated to those who just can't seem to leave the office or put down their laptops. Whether you're hustling for a dream or simply can't get enough of those spreadsheets, today is your day to shine...or maybe take a well-deserved break.

In honor of National Workaholics Day, today's quote is from the American novelist and screenwriter, Michael Cunningham. He said,

"The secret of getting ahead is getting started."

This quote speaks directly to the heart of what it means to be a workaholic. Sometimes, the hardest part is simply beginning the journey, taking that first step towards your goals. It's easy to get caught up in the never-ending cycle of tasks and deadlines, but remember, all great achievements start with that initial push.

So today, as you juggle your responsibilities and perhaps feel the weight of your workload, take a moment to appreciate the progress you've made simply by starting. And maybe, just maybe, allow yourself a little time to relax and recharge.

Thanks for joining me on The Daily Quote. I'm Andrew McGivern, and I look forward to sharing more wisdom with you tomorrow. Have a productive and balanced day!

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is the fourth of July.

Today is Independence Day in the United States. It's a day of fireworks, barbecues, and celebrating freedom. So, whether you’re setting off sparklers or just enjoying a day off, I hope you’re ready for a great quote to accompany your festivities.

Today's quote is from the ever-inspiring Eleanor Roosevelt:

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

Independence Day is all about celebrating freedom and the pursuit of happiness, and Eleanor Roosevelt’s words perfectly capture that spirit. The Founding Fathers had a dream for a nation built on liberty and the belief that everyone should have the chance to pursue their own dreams. It’s a reminder that the big changes often start with a dream and a belief in its beauty.

So, as you celebrate today, think about the dreams you hold dear. Whether it’s a personal goal, a career aspiration, or a vision for a better world, remember that believing in the beauty of your dreams is the first step towards making them a reality.

Enjoy the fireworks tonight, and let them remind you that every spark started with a single, beautiful dream.

That’s it for today’s episode. Enjoy your Independence Day, keep dreaming big, and I’ll see you tomorrow for another daily quote.

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is July 3rd.

On this day, we celebrate National Stay Out of the Sun Day. Yes, you heard that right. It's a day dedicated to giving your skin a break from the sun's rays, especially if you tend to roast like a marshmallow at a campfire. So, if you needed an excuse to stay indoors and binge-watch your favorite show or read a good book, today’s your day!

Now, let’s dive into our quote of the day. It comes from the American essayist and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.”

I know what you're thinking. Why are we talking about sunshine on National Stay Out of the Sun Day? Well, there's a method to this madness. Emerson's words remind us of the importance of experiencing and enjoying the natural world around us. But just like everything else in life, balance is key. While it's wonderful to live in the sunshine, sometimes it's just as important to appreciate the shade.

On this National Stay Out of the Sun Day, think of Emerson’s quote as a gentle nudge to find that balance. Enjoy the sun, but don’t forget to take care of yourself. Give your skin a rest, stay hydrated, and perhaps find joy in the cooler, quieter places. After all, life is about savoring all its different shades and temperatures, not just the sunniest ones.

So, today, take a moment to enjoy the comforts of the indoors. Maybe treat yourself to a refreshing drink or a cool swim in the shade. Celebrate the day by finding your balance between the sunshine and the shadows.

That's it for today’s episode. Remember to find joy in both the light and the shade, and take care of yourself. Thanks for joining me on The Daily Quote. I’m Andrew McGivern, and I look forward to spending tomorrow with you as well. But in order for that to happen you need to hit the follow (or subscribe) button in your podcast app.. Today is July 2nd and welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is National Anisette Day?

Lets dive right in... Anisette is a sweet, anise-flavored liqueur, often enjoyed as an aperitif. Now, I don't know about you, but any holiday that involves celebrating a delightful drink sounds like a good idea. So, raise your glass to that!

Today's quote comes from Oscar Wilde, who once said,

    "Everything in moderation, including moderation."

This little gem from Wilde fits our holiday like a perfectly poured glass of anisette.

Oscar Wilde, known for his sharp wit and hedonistic lifestyle, reminds us of the importance of balance. It’s a fun paradox—he’s essentially telling you to be moderate, but also to indulge a little. So, while you enjoy your anisette today, remember that it’s okay to let loose every now and then. Life’s about finding that sweet spot between restraint and revelry.

Just think of it this way: if you lived every day in perfect moderation, where would the stories come from? After all, “that one wild night” usually doesn't start with a salad and a glass of water.

So, celebrate National Anisette Day with a toast to balance, a tip of the hat to indulgence, and a nod to moderation—just the way Oscar Wilde would have wanted it. Enjoy your day, sip responsibly, and remember to savor those moments of joyous imbalance.

Thank you for joining me on The Daily Quote. I'm Andrew McGivern, reminding you to find your perfect balance today and every day. Cheers!

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is July 1st...

Today is Canada Day! A day when the vast, beautiful land of Canada celebrates its confederation back in 1867. Whether you're Canadian or not, (I am... but I don't drink it) today is a great day to appreciate the beauty of unity, diversity, and the great outdoors.

Our quote of the day comes from a notable Canadian, Margaret Atwood, who said,

"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt."

Now, you might be thinking, "Andrew, what does this have to do with Canada Day?" Well, let me dig a little deeper – pun totally intended.

Margaret Atwood's words remind us to embrace the natural world and the simple, earthy pleasures it offers. Canada, known for its stunning landscapes from coast to coast, embodies this idea perfectly. Whether it's hiking in the Rockies, paddling in Ontario's lakes, enjoying a quiet moment in a Nova Scotian forest, or tubing down the Coquitlam river, Canada invites you to get out and experience nature firsthand.

On Canada Day, people come together to celebrate with barbecues, fireworks, and outdoor fun. It's a time to get a little dirt under your nails and soak in the natural beauty around you. Atwood’s quote nudges us to remember that true contentment often comes from these unpretentious, grounded experiences.

So, as you go about your day, take a moment to appreciate the natural wonders around you. Whether you’re in Canada or somewhere else, let the spirit of Canada Day inspire you to connect with nature and perhaps end your day smelling a bit like dirt – a sign that you've truly lived.

Thank you for joining me on The Daily Quote. I'm Andrew McGivern, wishing you a wonderful Canada Day and reminding you to embrace the dirtier pleasures of life. Have a great day, and I'll see you tomorrow!

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 30th.

It is National Meteor Watch Day, a perfect excuse to look up and marvel at the wonders of the night sky. It's a day to appreciate those brief, brilliant streaks of light that remind us how vast and spectacular our universe is. So, if you get the chance tonight, take a moment to gaze upwards—you might just catch a glimpse of something extraordinary.

Our quote for today comes from the legendary Carl Sagan, an astronomer who had a unique way of making the cosmos feel personal. He once said,

"The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself."

Reflecting on this quote, it's incredible to think that the same elements that make up the stars also make up you and me. On National Meteor Watch Day, this idea feels especially poignant. As you watch those meteors blaze across the sky, remember that you're connected to something much larger than yourself. You're not just a passive observer of the universe; you're an active part of it.

There's something wonderfully humbling about Sagan's words. They serve as a reminder that, despite our daily worries and struggles, we're part of a grander story—a cosmic narrative that stretches back billions of years and will continue long after we're gone. It's a bit like realizing you're a tiny, but essential, character in a vast, unfolding epic.

So tonight, when you look up and see a meteor streaking across the sky, take a moment to appreciate the wonder and the science behind it. Remember Carl Sagan's words and feel a bit of that cosmic connection. And if you happen to make a wish on that shooting star, well, who knows? Maybe the universe is listening.

Thank you for joining me on The Daily Quote. I'm Andrew McGivern, wishing you a day filled with wonder and a night filled with starlight. See you next time!

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 29th.

Today is a special day because it’s National Camera Day! Whether you’re a professional photographer or just love taking selfies, today’s the day to celebrate the art of capturing moments. Cameras have come a long way since their invention, and now we can snap, filter, and share our memories in an instant.

In honor of National Camera Day, I’ve chosen a quote that perfectly captures the essence of photography and life. It’s from the legendary photographer Ansel Adams, who once said,

"You don’t take a photograph, you make it."

Adams’ words remind us that photography isn’t just about clicking a button. It’s about creating something meaningful, capturing a moment in time, and presenting it in a way that tells a story. In many ways, this philosophy can apply to our daily lives. Life, like photography, is not just about going through the motions. It’s about actively shaping our experiences and making each moment count.

Think about your day as a series of photographs. Each moment is an opportunity to create a memory, to focus on what truly matters, and to frame your experiences in the best possible light. Just like a photographer carefully chooses their subject, angle, and lighting, you have the power to choose your perspective and approach to life.

So today, whether you’re behind the lens or in front of it, take a moment to appreciate the beauty around you. Create memories that you’ll want to look back on and smile. And remember, sometimes the most unexpected moments make the best photographs – and the best stories.

Thank you for joining me today on The Daily Quote. I hope Ansel Adams' words inspire you to make each moment a masterpiece. Until next time, keep focusing on the good and capturing the beauty in your life. Have a wonderful day!

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 28th…

Today is National Insurance Awareness Day. Yes, I know, it's not the most thrilling holiday on the calendar, but bear with me. While insurance might not spark joy like a beach vacation or a surprise pizza delivery, it does bring peace of mind. It's all about being prepared for the unexpected, much like carrying an umbrella even when the weather forecast says it's going to be sunny. I think we’ve all probably been caught without an umbrella in a downpour before… right?

Now, let's pivot to today's quote. It comes from Warren Buffett, a man who knows a thing or two about protecting one's assets:

    Warren Buffet once said…

"Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago."

This quote isn't just about trees or shade; it's about foresight and planning. Whether it's having your insurance in order or saving for retirement, being prepared means you're ready for whatever comes your way.

So, how do we connect the dots between National Insurance Awareness Day and Buffett's wisdom? Think of insurance as the tree you plant today so you can enjoy the shade tomorrow. It's not just about paying premiums and reading the fine print; it's about ensuring that when life throws a curveball, you have a plan to catch it. Much like Buffett's advice, having insurance is a way of planting that tree now, so you're not left out in the sun later.

Imagine driving your car without insurance… there is a reason why the fines for not having insurance are so high. Trust me… I know. It was only expired by one day… but it could have been much worse.

In essence, preparation, whether through insurance or meticulous planning, isn't about living in fear of what might go wrong. It's about living confidently, knowing you're ready for whatever life throws your way.

So, on this National Insurance Awareness Day, take a moment to review your own safety nets. Are you prepared? And remember Buffett's sage advice: plant that tree today, so you can sit in the shade tomorrow.

Thank you for joining me on The Daily Quote. I hope today's episode has given you something to think about and a chuckle or two. Until next time, stay prepared, stay positive, and keep making each day count.

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 27th.

Today is National Sunglasses Day! Yes, that's right, a whole day dedicated to those stylish, UV-protective shields for your eyes. Whether you're rocking aviators, wayfarers, or the ever-classic John Lennon round frames, today is the day to flaunt them. Sunglasses aren't just a fashion statement; they're essential for protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays. Plus, they give you an air of mystery – because who knows what you're really looking at?

Speaking of vision and perspective, our quote of the day comes from none other than Helen Keller. She once said,

"The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision."

Let's take a moment to unpack that. Helen Keller, who lost both her sight and hearing at a very young age, became a powerful advocate for people with disabilities. Her words remind us that having a vision isn't just about what we can physically see; it's about having dreams, goals, and a purpose that guide us through life.

So, how does this tie into National Sunglasses Day, you ask? Well, think of your sunglasses as a metaphor. Just as they protect your eyes from the glaring sun, your vision – your goals and aspirations – shield you from the distractions and negativity that can blind you to what truly matters. When you have a clear vision, you're not just wandering through life aimlessly; you're moving with purpose, just like Helen Keller did.

And let's be honest, there's something quite cool about wearing sunglasses and having a clear vision. It’s like being the protagonist in your own action movie – you're not just seeing the world; you're seeing where you want to go and taking steps to get there.

So, as you put on your sunglasses today, take a moment to think about your vision for your life. What are your goals? What dreams are you chasing? And how are you protecting your vision from the blinding glare of doubt and distraction?

Thank you for joining me today on The Daily Quote. I hope today's holiday and quote have given you a little extra boost of inspiration to carry with you throughout the day. Remember, protect your vision and keep your eyes on the prize. I'm Andrew McGivern signing off for today and I'll see you tomorrow for another episode of The Daily Quote. Until then, stay positive and keep shining – just like those stylish sunglasses of yours.

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 26th.

It's National Chocolate Pudding Day! This delightful day celebrates the creamy, smooth, and utterly delicious dessert that has brought joy to countless people. Whether you enjoy it chilled, topped with whipped cream, or as a filling for other treats, chocolate pudding is a comfort food favorite.

Today’s quote of the day comes from the influential author C.S. Lewis, who said,

"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream."

C.S. Lewis's words encourage us to keep striving and dreaming, no matter our age or stage in life. It's a reminder that there's always room for new aspirations and fresh starts.

So, how does this connect with National Chocolate Pudding Day? Think about it: If you are never too old to dream a new dream, then you are never too old for chocolate pudding either! Chocolate pudding often evokes memories of childhood, of simple pleasures and carefree times. But who says enjoyment of these simple pleasures should be left behind as we grow older? Just as Lewis reminds us that it’s never too late to set new goals or dream new dreams, it's also never too late to find joy in life's small delights.

Chocolate pudding can be a symbol of this philosophy. It’s a simple, delightful treat that brings comfort and happiness, no matter how old you are. Maybe today, you can set a small goal to recreate that feeling of joy and simplicity by making your own chocolate pudding, sharing it with family, or just enjoying it quietly by yourself. Or maybe make some chocolate pudding a reward for when you accomplish a goal or complete a project.

Today, as you celebrate National Chocolate Pudding Day, take a moment to reflect on C.S. Lewis's message. What new goals can you set? What dreams can you reignite? And while you're at it, don't forget to indulge in the small, sweet moments that make life so special.

Thanks for joining me today on The Daily Quote. I'm Andrew McGivern, reminding you that you're never too old to dream and enjoy the sweet things in life. Have a fantastic day and treat yourself to some delicious chocolate pudding!

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 25th.

It's National Catfish Day! This day is dedicated to celebrating the catfish, a versatile and popular fish found in many culinary traditions around the world. Whether fried, grilled, or served in a stew, catfish is a tasty dish for many.

Now, let's move on to today's quote. It comes from the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu, who said,

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

Lao Tzu's words are a timeless reminder of the power of taking the first step, no matter how daunting a task may seem. Every significant achievement, every long journey, starts with that initial move forward.

So, how does this connect with National Catfish Day? Well, catching a catfish isn't something that just happens. It involves preparation, patience, and taking that first step—heading out to the water, casting your line, and waiting. Similarly, whether you're starting a new project, pursuing a dream, or simply trying something new, you need to take that initial step to make progress.

Consider the humble catfish itself. It starts as a tiny fry in a vast body of water, facing numerous challenges and predators. Yet, it grows and thrives, moving through its life one small step (or swim) at a time.

Today, as you celebrate National Catfish Day, think about what first step you can take towards your goals. It doesn't have to be grand or perfect; it just has to be a step. Remember, the most important part of any journey is to begin.

Thanks for joining me today on The Daily Quote. I'm Andrew McGivern, reminding you that every great journey starts with a single step. Have a wonderful day and enjoy celebrating National Catfish Day!

It's National Upcycling Day! This day celebrates the creative process of transforming old, unused items into something new and valuable. It's all about creativity, sustainability, and giving a second life to things that might otherwise be discarded.

In the spirit of creativity and transformation, today we have another quote from the legendary artist Pablo Picasso:

"Every act of creation is first an act of destruction."

Picasso's words remind us that creating something new often involves breaking down the old. It's about seeing potential where others see waste. This ties in perfectly with National Upcycling Day. When you upcycle, you're not just recycling materials; you're reimagining them, giving them a new purpose and value.

Think about that old dresser you might have in your garage, collecting dust. To some, it’s just an eyesore, but to you, it could be a unique bookshelf or a stylish piece of decor. The key is to look beyond the surface and see the potential for transformation.

Picasso, a master of his craft, understood that sometimes you need to deconstruct before you can create. It's the same with upcycling. You take something that seems worthless and, with a bit of creativity and effort, turn it into something wonderful.

So today, as you celebrate National Upcycling Day, channel your inner Picasso. Look around you and see what items might be transformed. Remember, every act of creation starts with seeing beyond what is and imagining what could be.

Thanks for joining me today on The Daily Quote. I'm Andrew McGivern, encouraging you to embrace creativity and transformation in your life. Have a fantastic day, and happy upcycling!

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 23rd.

Did you know that today is National Hydration Day? Yes, that's right. It’s a day dedicated to reminding you to drink water. Seems like a no-brainer, but it's astonishing how many of us forget to stay hydrated. So, consider this your friendly reminder to drink up – your body will thank you.

In keeping with today's theme, I’ve got a refreshing quote for you from the insightful poet, W.H. Auden who is know for his profound observations... Auden once said.

"Thousands have lived without love, not one without water."

Let's break this down. Auden's quote highlights the undeniable necessity of water in our lives. Sure, we can get all philosophical and talk about the importance of love, but at the end of the day, it's water that keeps us physically alive. Think about it – you can survive weeks without food, but only a few days without water.

And isn't it interesting how we often overlook such a simple yet vital part of our existence? It's easy to take for granted the things that are always there, like the availability of clean drinking water. In many parts of the world, access to water is a daily struggle, reminding us how precious it is.

So, today, as you go about your daily routine, make it a point to stay hydrated. Keep a water bottle with you, and take sips regularly. If you're feeling adventurous, throw in a slice of lemon or cucumber. You might not be able to control everything in your life, but you can control how hydrated you are.

Remember, taking care of yourself is the first step in taking care of others. Just like they say on airplanes – put your own oxygen mask on first before assisting others. Hydrate yourself before you dehydrate yourself. It's simple, really.

That wraps up today's episode. I hope Auden’s words give you a moment of reflection and perhaps a chuckle or two. Stay hydrated, stay positive, and join me tomorrow for another dose of daily inspiration.

I'm Andrew McGivern, and thanks for listening to The Daily Quote. Have a great day!

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 22nd.

Now, did you know that today is National Onion Ring Day? The humble onion ring gets its own day! YES, there is hope for humanity.

Whether you like them battered, breaded, or gluten-free, today is the perfect excuse to indulge in this crispy delight. And let's be honest, even if you're not a fan, it's hard to resist the allure of a perfectly fried onion ring.

On to today's quote, which comes from none other than the legendary actress Audrey Hepburn:

"To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow."

This quote speaks to the heart of hope and faith in the future, much like the joy that planting a garden brings.

Now, you might be wondering, Andrew.... what do onion rings and gardens have in common?

Well... if nobody planted a garden... there would be no onion rings. To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrows tasty Onion Rings!!!

Also, both require a little bit of patience and care. You can't rush a garden any more than you can rush a perfect onion ring.

Both involve layers, whether it's the literal layers of an onion or the layers of effort and time you put into cultivating a garden or frying that perfect batch.

Audrey Hepburn's quote encourages you to invest in the future, to believe that what you nurture today will bloom tomorrow.

I'm reading Maximum Achievement right now... and Paul Tracey mentions this concept a lot in the book... the Law of Sowing and Reaping. What you sow today you reap tomorrow.

Similarly, think about how you might feel when you bite into a perfectly cooked onion ring – that satisfaction comes from knowing that someone took the time to make it just right. It's a small reminder that good things come to those who wait.

So, today, as you savor an onion ring or two, take a moment to reflect on the small acts of patience and hope you can cultivate in your own life. Maybe it's tending to a garden, planning for a future project, or simply enjoying the process of cooking something delicious. Remember, each small step you take is a testament to your belief in a brighter tomorrow.

That's all for today's episode of The Daily Quote. Thank you for joining me, and I hope your day is filled with positivity and maybe even a few delicious onion rings. Until next time, this is Andrew McGivern signing off. Have a wonderful day! And I'll be back with another daily quote... tomorrow.

If you plant your finger on the follow button today, you will reap a new quote tomorrow... It is a universal law afterall.

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and I'm happy you are here with me today.

On this bright and beautiful June day, we celebrate National Selfie Day. Yes, today is the day to capture your best self from your favorite angle, and perhaps with that perfect filter. sigh...

Today we are doing something a little different... we are putting two quotes up against each other and I'll let you decide which one is true.

Our first quote of the day is from the famed astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus, who once said,

"The world does not revolve around you."

A humbling reminder from the man who figured out that Earth isn't the center of the universe.

    Imagine the shock back then!

It’s like someone telling you your selfie isn’t the best thing on the internet - it kind of makes you think twice about posting that selfie now... but wait...

Our second quote today comes from the modern-day marketing genius, Joe Polish, who turns Copernicus’s notion on its head with,

"The world does revolve around you..."

The entire quote from Joe Polish Says...

You may have heard the phrase: “The world doesn’t revolve around you.” But, if it doesn’t revolve around you, then who does it revolve around? It’s YOUR life. And YOUR world actually DOES revolve around YOU. It really does. Most of the time you are thinking about YOUR life, YOUR family, YOUR desires, YOUR dreams, if YOU got enough sleep, if YOU’RE bored, if YOU’RE hungry… You’re thinking about YOUR life.In order to do good Marketing, you need to understand your Client’s world revolves around THEM. They are thinking about THEMSELVES.

Confusing, isn’t it? Who is right... Copernicus or Polish?

Maybe I can feel good about posting that selfie, after all.

    Let’s untangle this paradox together.

On National Selfie Day, we can look at both of these quotes and find a balanced perspective.

Copernicus reminds us that we are part of a much larger cosmos. Our problems, while significant to us, are but a tiny speck in the vastness of the universe. It’s a gentle nudge to keep our ego in check.

I mean, you can expand your view to a point that makes yourself absolutely insignificant... when you consider an infinite universe, and infinite timeline and infinite dimensions or Multi-Verse or alternate realities. That pretty much makes your tiny slice of existence mean nothing doesn't it... well NO. But I get the point...

When you’re lining up that perfect selfie, remember there’s a whole infinite everything out there beyond your lens.

On the flip side, Joe Polish’s quote suggests that your world – your experiences, your emotions, your perceptions – is uniquely yours. It does revolve around you in the sense that you have the power to shape your reality, to make choices, and to influence the course of your life. That selfie you take is a snapshot of your world at that moment, a reflection of your individuality.

So, how do we reconcile these two seemingly contradictory ideas? It’s simple: balance.

Embrace your significance without forgetting your place in the grand scheme. Take pride in who you...

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 20th.

Did you know that today is World Productivity Day? That's right, today we celebrate the art of getting things done, tackling those to-do lists, and making the most out of every minute. It's a day to focus on maximizing our efficiency and achieving our goals.

My productivity system, including the workflow involved in producing this podcast is Notion... the no code database app that allows you to build your own system from scratch or use a template.

But I love it... and for the most part it works really well.

In honor of World Productivity Day, I’ve chosen a quote from one of the most productive people in history, Benjamin Franklin. He once said,

"Lost time is never found again."

Let’s dive into this. Franklin's words are a powerful reminder that time is our most precious resource. Once it's gone, we can’t get it back, so it's crucial to use it wisely. Being productive isn't just about being busy; it's about making sure our actions align with our goals and values. It’s about prioritizing what truly matters and eliminating distractions that can derail our progress.

Now, I know that staying productive can sometimes feel like a Herculean task. There are endless emails, meetings, and distractions pulling us in a hundred different directions. But remember, even small steps can lead to big accomplishments. By focusing on one task at a time and giving it your full attention, you can make significant progress.

Here’s a little tip: try breaking your tasks into smaller, manageable chunks and tackle them one by one. This not only makes the workload feel lighter but also gives you a sense of accomplishment as you check each item off your list. And don’t forget to take breaks. Sometimes, a little downtime can boost your productivity and creativity.

Speaking of breaks, here’s a fun fact to keep you motivated: today is also World Tapas Day. So, after a productive day of checking off those to-do lists, you have the perfect excuse to reward yourself with some delicious small plates. Because nothing says "I’ve been productive" quite like a tasty snack reward.

So, as you power through your day, keep Franklin’s words in mind. Make the most of your time, stay focused on what matters, and remember to enjoy the little rewards along the way. After all, a productive day topped off with tapas sounds like a pretty great way to celebrate, doesn’t it?

Remember, Lost Time is Never Found Again...

So if you decide to get into a productivity system like notion... be careful because you can end up wasting a lot of time on system design instead of getting the actual work done...

There is a serious rabbit hole risk here... trust me, I know...

Thank you for joining me on The Daily Quote.

Let me know if you like the show or have any suggestions... contact info is in the show notes.

Have a fantastic day, stay productive, and don’t forget to enjoy some tapas.

Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 19th.

Its World Sauntering Day, a delightful celebration encouraging you to slow down, enjoy the journey, and take a more relaxed approach to life. It’s a day to put aside the hustle and bustle and appreciate the simple pleasures around you.

With that in mind, let’s turn to today’s quote:

We have another quote from - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience."

Emerson's words perfectly capture the spirit of World Sauntering Day. In our fast-paced world, we often forget the importance of slowing down and being patient. We rush from one task to the next, always focusing on the next destination rather than appreciating the journey itself.

Sauntering, by its very nature, is an act of patience. It’s about strolling without haste, taking in your surroundings, and enjoying each moment for what it is. Much like how nature operates—unhurried yet purposeful. When you adopt this pace, you start noticing things you might have missed: the way the sunlight filters through the trees, the gentle rustling of leaves, or the melodic chirping of birds. These small moments of beauty are Emerson’s secret of nature.

So, today, embrace the art of sauntering. Take a leisurely walk, breathe deeply, and allow yourself to be fully present. Let go of the urgency and give yourself the gift of patience. After all, as the old saying goes, “Good things come to those who wait.” Plus, you might just find that slowing down brings a surprising amount of joy and clarity.

And remember, sauntering isn’t just for today. It’s a mindset you can carry forward, helping you to live a more mindful and enriched life. Who knew that the key to a happier life might just be walking a bit slower?

That wraps up today’s episode. I hope you found some inspiration and perhaps a bit of dry humor in our journey through Emerson’s wisdom and the art of sauntering. Have a fantastic day, and take it one leisurely step at a time.

Thank you for joining me on The Daily Quote. Until next time, I'm Andrew McGivern, signing off.
