You have to assume, if it can happen to MGM, it can happen to anyone.
Getting hacked is practically inevitable these days.
And too many individuals and even business owners are operating like it won’t happen to them.
Sharing passwords, not having 2FA turned on, and even having little oversight of who else has access to your accounts are no longer viable options.
After a hack that resulted in a $400,000 loss, Aaron Parkinson, CEO of 7 Mile Media SEZC, had to learn the hard way that when it comes to cyber security, it’s ‘better to invest 1% of your gross revenue in cyber security than to be wiped out in one shot.’
Aaron has hired a company to ensure that it doesn’t happen again, but even though they assured him, the chances of it happening again are still high. They’re just there to make sure it’s mitigated as quickly as possible next time.
As it stands, cyber security is now a necessity for businesses. Especially those heavily reliant on digital marketing and platforms like Meta for revenue.
So, the question is, are you protected?
“The biggest security issue you have is humans. It's not software. No, it's Sally. The receptionist has an admin account and she got hacked.”

How do we get nice clients? The ones that pay well and don't complain too much!
Maybe the problem isn't the client, maybe the problem is you. Learning how to audit yourself as an agency is one smart way to see if the reason you're treading water is because you don't know your ideal niche.
Most small agencies start with one or two clients which then lead to referrals. And before they know it, they're marketing everything from plumbers to products without any real idea of who their ideal customer is.
Developing a system where you work out your Niche, focus on your Offer, and then develop a Method needn't be that complicated. Just by having conversations with past clients, you can learn a lot about what worked and what you are good at.
AJ Cassata is the CEO of Revenue Boost and he has helped over 400 agencies become actual agencies with a simple and predictable sales system that can help you and your agency grow in more ways than one.
Learn how to see the patterns in the work that you are doing already and then how to refine and articulate your offer as you look to take it to a cold market where clients who need your specific offer are waiting for you. Today's episode is a niche-down nugget of gold!
Key Takeaways:
01:20 How can agencies build a business (for themselves) that they really love?
05:04 How to develop a system where you find the clients you actually want
06:35 How to audit yourself as an agency
11:48 How to get traction in a cold market
13:24 Niche, Offer, Method
16:52 'The money is in the mouth of the market'
19:40 What is 'the method' for niching down?

Email deliverability: what is it and how can we get better at it? With so much uncertainty around SEO and with social media platforms effectively owning your content, controlling your email list and communicating with your customers directly is more important than ever.
Times have changed, though, and it's no longer just about having a reputable IP address to convince your customer's ESP (Email Service Provider) that your once-in-a-lifetime offer shouldn't go straight to the spam or promotions folder.
Getting into the actual inbox and remaining top of mind requires meaningful engagement with your customer. Today's guest is showing us how to do just that.
Brendan Dubbels is the Senior Partner Manager for Ontraport and he's offering some super practical tips on how to improve your deliverability rate by making your emails more ‘clickable’ and ‘replyable’.
Learn how to clean up your email list and separate it into customers that engage with different regularities. Discover how to manage what is transactional (eg. invoicing) and what is content-driven.
Join us on an episode of DigitalMarketer that takes the ESP out of second-guessing your customer's ESP. More consistency in communication leads to more clicks and fruitful conversations.
Brendan Dubbels is the Senior Partner Manager for Ontraport, a business automation software for entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and small businesses. You can find out more about the work that Brendan does at ontraport.com.
