There's a corridor in an old house where a woman in grey walks the same path every night — straight through a wall where a doorway used to be, two hundred years ago. She never sees you. She isn't trapped, or angry, or lost. She's more like a recording. An echo. And tonight, Mark and Grim ask whether that echo is evidence — a clue pointing at the biggest secret there is. This is the deep one. We start with the fact even hard-nosed sceptics concede: science genuinely cannot explain consciousness — why it feels like something to be you. From there we open two doors. Door one: you're a machine, the brain makes the light, and when it stops, you're gone. Door two, older than every religion: the brain isn't a generator but a receiver — a radio — and when the radio breaks, the music was never coming from the box. We follow the honest wonder through residual hauntings, near-death experiences, and the "tree of souls" — the idea that you're not a leaf that has consciousness, but the whole tree, briefly experiencing itself as this one leaf.
And the conspiracy? No secret robed cabal — something simpler and more damning. Fear of death is the oldest lever of control there is. A population that's unafraid, that feels its oneness, is ungovernable — you can't frighten it, divide it, or sell to it. So you don't ban the truth. You just teach everyone they're meat machines, keep them distracted, and make sure nobody's ever still enough, quiet enough, to notice what's underneath the noise.

Right now there's a document open on the UK government's website with a name so boring your eyes slide straight off it: "Watch this Space: A new strategic direction for UK media." That drowsiness you just felt? That's the weapon.
Buried inside is a proposal to make social media platforms boost "trusted" news sources to the top of your feed — which, in a feed with only so much room, means pushing everything else down to page nine, where nobody scrolls. Nothing's banned. Nobody's arrested. It's just a tweak to an algorithm, for your own protection. BBC propaganda pushed on social media and other platforms. And that's exactly why Mark and Grim think you should be paying very close attention.
Tonight: the genius of censorship that leaves no corpse. The everyday psychology already used on you — charm pricing, dark patterns, the government's own "Nudge Unit." The road that leads from "helping you find trusted news" all the way to China's Great Firewall and social credit. And a quote you can check yourself — the WEF's founder calling China's system "a role model for many countries," said out loud on state TV.
Who gets to define "trustworthy"? Who arranged the page you're looking at? And why is the scariest monster we've ever covered a consultation document?

The Vanishing Frame -
He invented the movies — years before Edison. Then he vanished off a sealed train, luggage and all, weeks before his big premiere. Suicide, or murder for the crown? The forgotten case of Louis Le Prince.
The 16th of September 1890. A Frenchman boards a direct express from Dijon to Paris with a case of documents that could make him one of the most famous men alive. The train has no stops. When it reaches Paris, he isn't on it. Not in his seat, not in any carriage — and his luggage is gone too. No body. No witness. No clue. Ever.
His name was Louis Le Prince, and two years earlier, in a garden in Leeds, he'd done something no human had ever done: he captured moving pictures. He invented the movies — years before Edison, years before the Lumières. And weeks before he could show the world, he stepped onto a train and stopped existing.
