Miguel Aguilar came on the podcast with Kevin back in December of 2021. His story is truly inspiring and well worth your time. We are reposting this episode because Miguel has tragically passed away. A few months ago, he was followed home by four men who attempted to rob him at gunpoint. Details of what went on are scarce, but we do know that Miguel was shot and spent the past few months fighting for his life. We wanted to repost this episode to honor his memory and to allow those who knew him and loved him to hear from him again, to hear some of what made him the man he was, the man that so many loved. Our prayers are with his family; we hope you will join us. Thank you for listening. The original show notes are included below.
In this episode, Kevin talks with Miguel Aguilar about his incredible and inspiring story of being abandoned by his mom at age 12, ending up homeless at 16 to where he is now as a very successful entrepreneur. Miguel is very honest about the struggles he has had through life and the lessons he learned along the way. His willingness to share honestly the path that he has walked to get where he is today is humbling and we want to thank him for taking the time to sit down with Kevin and tell his story. There are a myriad of great lessons in this episode, do not miss this one.

In this week's episode, we are joined by Trevor Graves! Trevor came to us with an episode idea, and we quickly roped him into coming on the show to talk about it. The idea from this episode came from a hair-raising experience that Trevor had, along with something he learned in a CCW class he attended that got him looking at the world differently than he consciously had before. The concept of being situationally aware is not a new on,e and neither is the structure of the Color Code of Awareness, which was created by Col. Jeff Cooper back in the 70s. The lessons here, though, are so applicable to anyone in the world today, regardless of whether or not you are someone who carries a gun or other weapon in your daily life. We guarantee that you will come away from this episode with some actionable steps to implement in your life that will make you safer and make your family safer in the world. In this week's episode, we are talking about the detrimental effects of ineffective or nonexistent communication down the chain of command. In the large organization we work for, there often seems to be a lack of communication as to why things are done, what the mission is, or the reasons behind it; we have found this to be very detrimental for a whole host of reasons. We also tie this into communication at home with our wives and families, how we can do a better job in those arenas, and why that's important. Additionally, we talk briefly about how to best communicate up the chain of command for those of us on the lower ends of the leadership structure and why this is equally important and must be done properly.
