When you've reached this point, there's no turning back and it's time to find a home! With so much excitement and emotion it's easy to make bad business decisions, decisions that could be the difference between success and failure.
It took us many months to settle on a location as we had a very strict criteria for the space we wanted. We will share with you some of the things we look for when choosing a Salon space.
We made some big mistakes when signing our lease including one which cost us $40,000! We're going to give you some advice on how to avoid these costly and potentially business ending mistakes.
Here's our Frankie take home tips.
1. When looking for a Salon space, it pays to set a strict criteria and stick to that criteria. Don't jump at the first place that catches your eye.
2. It pays to employee a lease negotiator to negotiate the best deal on your behalf.
3. Never trust Real Estate agents.... They're the devil in disguise ;-).
Thank for listening.
We hope you enjoyed it.

Hi there, we're two brothers Pete and Nicko from Melbourne. In 2017 we became business partners in Frankie Salon. 3 years and 3000 clients later, Frankie is Melbournes highest reviewed salon.
Starting / Owning a salon business is extremely challenging but if done well, can be extremely rewarding.
We want to be part of your journey! We want to help you avoid the mistakes we made and share our success with you.
We believe every Salon has the same ingredients for success! We want to give you the recipe. It's up to you to learn how to cook.
In episode 1 we discuss the things we love about our Salon business...... and the things we don't.
Our partnership is a key part to our success so consider finding a business partner or mentor who shares your creative vision and can support you through the highs and lows of owning a successful salon business.
A Salon is like a big family and in this family....Your VIBE attracts your TRIBE! Make your brand image attract the type of people you want to be around! That way, when you go to work, you can share the day with people you like and clients who align with your brand / business.
Study and learn about your client demographic and then be super consistent across your online and offline in appealing to that exact demographic! Don't be afraid of being focused on a specific demographic.
After the honeymoon period, don't get complacent. Make sure you take holidays and breaks to keep motivated. Keep learning, growing and challenging yourself and your staff.
Before day 1, make sure you have a good book keeper and accountant and be sure to have monthly meetings with both so you know exactly the financial health of your business on a month to month basis.
We hope you enjoy our first episode and we can't wait to share the journey with you.
Lots of Love
Pete and Nick
