Join Ramjee Chandran as he brings the curtain down on the Ganga dynasty, looking at their final years as they were dredged through the wrong side of extinction. As they fell, Chamundaraya—the devoted architect of the iconic Gomateshwara statue at Shravanabelagola—stood as a shining example of loyalty and dedication.
He stabilised the kingdom, propped up ineffective kings and defeated their enemies. When he died, the kingdom folded. Ultimately, the decline of the Gangas paved the way for the rise of the Cholas, marking the end of an era in South Indian history. And the beginning of another.
