There is so much out there right now around nervous system regulation and so much of it is about how to calm yourself down, essentially how to be peaceful or regulated, and a lot of it is like breathing and calming yourself down, and it feels like just another way that women are trying to control their natural, healthy responses.

I don’t think your anger, rage, anxiousness, or dysregulation is a problem we need to fix with control. And the more we try to shame or repress these nervous system responses- the more exhausted and dysregulated we typically become.

Has anyone ever told you to calm down when you were upset? To not worry about something when you were in an anxiety attack?

Did that make you actually feel better or worse? This is what so many of us are trying to do with the tool of “nervous system regulation”

To regulate your nervous system, we don’t need to control or suppress it, we get to relate to it and work with it. We can learn to move and work with it, not against it.

This is what actually helps us feel and act better. It’s how we create a nervous system that is responsive and not just stuck in trauma triggers or the emotional roller coaster. In this episode I'll teach you to work with your somatic nervous system, your animal body, and your emotional intelligence to be able to feel your agency, choice, and safey. I'll teach you to work with your nervous system and not against it.

Want to learn how your nervous system is impacting your boundaries?
