It moves through decades of creativity, relationships, and stellar reputation.
And then - one unexpected moment brings life to a grinding halt.
And everything changes.

Just 48 hours after I sat down with Rabbi Naftali Schiff, an arson attack was carried out at the former premises of Jewish Futures.
This wasn’t an isolated incident.
Only months earlier, another one of their buildings was defaced with hateful messages.
And yet, what stood out to me then, and even more so now, is the resolve.
The team at Jewish Futures will not be shaken.
The light they bring to tens of thousands each year will not be dimmed.
Am Yisrael Chai.
-----
In this episode, I sit down with Rabbi Naftali Schiff - a visionary leader, educator, and institution builder whose impact on Jewish life in the UK and beyond is both profound and far-reaching.
As the driving force behind Jewish Futures, Rabbi Schiff has pioneered a model that goes far beyond a single organisation, creating a meta-institution that incubates, scales, and sustains a network of initiatives engaging thousands across the Jewish spectrum.
Rabbi Schiff opens up about what our task on this world truly is, what it means to own responsibility and how getting on with the job without distraction is really the key to getting things done.
A moving part of our conversation centres on his Holocaust project and book, Miracle. We explore the emotional weight of sitting with these stories, the responsibility of preserving them, and the profound lessons they carry, particularly the unwavering will to live that defined so many of those he encountered.
We also reflect on his close relationship with Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, and what it meant to work alongside one of the most influential Jewish thinkers of our time.
This and much more, in this weeks conversation.
I hope you enjoy
Aron

As we approach Pesach, a time that marks both the birth of our nation and the power of storytelling, this episode of the Nexus Podcast leans into the personal and inspiring story of one who chose to join our nation.
In this conversation, Aron Coleman sits down with Tom Goodwin, now Yaakov Yitzchok, an advanced paramedic and medical lead for Hatzolah Manchester, whose journey into Jewish life is both powerful and thought-provoking.
As a Ger who explored widely before committing to a life of Torah and community, Tom brings a rare perspective - one rooted in clarity, humility, and genuine pursuit of truth.
From his upbringing and path to conversion, to openly living as a proud Jew even before formally joining the community, YY shares a story that challenges assumptions and inspires reflection. We explore identity, belonging, the nuances within the Jewish community, and what those born into it might overlook.
Alongside his personal journey, YY also reflects on his role in helping rebuild Hatzolah Manchester, offering insight into leadership, responsibility, and service at the highest level.
The story of our people is made up of individual journeys and that the pursuit of truth and connection is something we are all called to.

What happens when someone who grows up with almost no connection to faith suddenly begins asking the deepest questions about life, purpose, and truth?
In this episode, we sit down with Charles Bursk, a man whose journey began in Manchester, far removed from an orthodox Jewish lifestyle, yet who found himself drawn onto a powerful and unexpected path of discovery.
Through a series of circumstances, Charles developed an unrelenting drive to understand life on a deeper level. What followed was a transformation. A search for truth that would reshape how he sees the world, his work, his family, and his purpose.
But Charles isn’t someone who stepped away from the real world to pursue meaning.
Quite the opposite.
He’s someone who lives fully within it, navigating the pressures of modern life, business, responsibility, and family, while constantly striving to layer those everyday moments with intention, wisdom, and spiritual clarity.
In this conversation, we explore how to live a life of real meaning in a world designed to distract us.
From building a family and giving charity, to understanding why we’re here in the first place, Charles shares powerful insights on how to stay focused, productive, and purposeful despite the noise and chaos that surround us.
This isn’t just a conversation about faith.
It’s a conversation about how to live.
And if you’ve ever found yourself asking deeper questions about the direction of your life - this episode might just change the way you think about it.
I hope you enjoy.

This week's guest is someone whose journey challenges how we define success, happiness, and spiritual connection in the modern world.
Rabbi Noiky Roberts is a globally recognised speaker, educator, and wedding singer whose unique ability to blend charisma, authenticity, humour, and deep Torah insight has inspired audiences across continents.
Raised in Gateshead and later spending three decades in the close-knit community of Gibraltar, Rabbi Roberts has built a life centred around simplicity, faith, and meaningful human connection — values that stand in sharp contrast to the noise and urgency of modern living.
From overcoming personal struggles and anxiety in his early years, to dedicating his life to Chinuch, community leadership, and inspiring thousands through shiurim, public speaking, and music, Rabbi Roberts represents a rare balance between public performer and deeply grounded servant of Hashem.
In this conversation, we explore profound themes including Bitachon, the pursuit of success, overcoming fear, the power of consistency, community life, and what it truly means to feel at home, both physically and spiritually. We’ll also hear personal reflections on resilience, faith, education, and bringing timeless Jewish wisdom to audiences across the world.
This is a conversation about purpose, perspective, and discovering meaning in both the spotlight and the quiet moments behind it.

In this wide-ranging conversation, Aron sits down with Rabbi Yechiel Emanuel - Principal of Beis Hatalmud, Rav of the rapidly growing Ohel Sholom community, and a leader quietly supporting Jewish life across Manchester and beyond.
From his London upbringing and formative years in Gateshead, Rabbi Emanuel traces an unexpected journey: from founding the groundbreaking Camp Orach Chaim in Ukraine, to a decade spent inspiring boys, and later supporting Jewish refugees following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war.
The conversation moves into more personal territory as Rabbi Emanuel shares his journey through secondary infertility, his composed yet powerful address in Kerestir, and the discovery of the Viledniker - a story of quiet miracles, perspective, and spiritual resilience.
We explore what authentic leadership looks like today: building a shul that doesn’t just attract attendance, but transforms those who daven there.
Rabbi Emanuel also reflects on public speaking, communal responsibility, and the importance of finding, and building, a lifelong relationship with a leader of one’s own.

In this heartfelt episode, Rabbi Aron Litwin shares the personal journey that led to the founding of Mekimi and his life’s mission of supporting bereaved children and families.
From his own experiences of loss, grief, and resilience, he discusses the importance of expressing emotions honestly, what a grieving child truly needs, and the moment his understanding of his own pain shifted.
Rabbi Litwin offers an inside look at how Mekimi works with families from the first call, the challenge of maintaining dignity and privacy in charity work, and the emotional weight of being on the front lines of tragedy.
He reflects on his father’s legacy, the impact of his mother’s illness, and the meaning found through faith, community, and purpose.
With messages for the community, for orphans, and a deeply personal reflection on naming his son after his father, this conversation is a poignant exploration of grief, healing, and the quiet holiness of supporting those in pain.
If you can, kindly consider supporting the important work of Mekimi:

Welcome back friends, this week I am delighted to bring you my conversation with Rabbi Benjy Morgan, CEO of the Jewish Learning Exchange, commonly known as the JLE.
As CEO, Rabbi Benjy Morgan is responsible for the innovation and strategy of the JLE in the 21st century. He oversees education across the numerous different departments in which the JLE operates. He guides dozens of dedicated staff and the myriad of weekly programs that service over 1000 individuals each week.
There were two particular stories that I wanted to bring up in my conversation with Rabbi Morgan, but some last minute changes to Rabbi Morgan’s diary meant that we ended up recording this conversation a few short hours before a flight out of the country. Instead, I have appended recordings of these stories, one at the beginning, a moving and beautiful narrative that gives us insight into the miraculous story or Rabbi Morgan’s family, and one at the end, which is an account of Rabbi Morgan’s own personal miracle story which took place in 2019, with a message for Chanukah as we enter the month of Kislev.

Enjoy this week's episode with Sammy Morhaim.
Sammy and his family originally entertained the idea of making Aliyah back in 2014.
In 2018 this dream became a reality.
His journey experiencing the move, and what he has learnt along the way, is truly remarkable.
I hope you enjoy.

Welcome to the final episode of The Nexus podcast for this year.
This week's episode is really something special and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to sit down with Rabbi Joseph Dweck, somebody who has impacted the UK Jewish communities in so many ways over the past 12 years of his leadership and guidance and I highly recommend for people who want to explore more over by Rabbi Dweck's teachings to go online and search for his classes.
In addition to his years of service to both Shuls and schools in the Us, in 2013, Rabbi Joseph Dweck was elected Senior Rabbi of the S&P Sephardi Community with a stunning 270-4 vote, later inaugurated at the historic Bevis Marks Shul.
Since then, Rabbi Dweck has become one of the most prominent Jewish voices in the UK — earning himself a number of prestigious positions and eloquently and artfully interfacing between the Jewish community and The wider UK public at large.
It is a true honour to have spent time in Rabbi Dweck's home, having this conversation a few short months before he and his family relocate to their new home in Israel.
I hope you enjoy

With a warm and caring approach, and the genuine belief that behind all the pain and suffering is a soul that can be ignited to live a healthy productive life, Ari and his team at The Boys Clubhouse have achieved the unimaginable.
Creating a safe, vibrant home away from home for these boys, giving them the ability to reconnect with themselves, discover and develop their skills, create a strong social support network, and letting them learn to believe in themselves once more.

Welcome back to the show. Today’s conversation is one I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.
My guest is Yitzi Ginsbury, a name synonymous with commitment, leadership, and quiet strength within our community.
Many will know him through his tireless work with Ezra Care, but his impact stretches far beyond that.
From his role at Jewel to his presence as a trusted voice bridging community needs and public institutions.
In this episode, we’ll explore Yitzi’s journey, from the foundations of Ezra Care and its incredible growth, to the challenges of expanding services, managing behind-the-scenes operations, and representing our community with clarity and diplomacy.
We’ll also touch on the deeply personal: Yitzi’s own medical journey, the resilience it demanded, and the extraordinary way he continued to serve others even while facing his own battle.
I hope you enjoy

This week I'm delighted to share with you my conversation with Mattis Orgel.
Mattis founded one of the UK's leading kitchen manufacturers and suppliers, and his journey to get there is nothing short of remarkable.
So often we watch businesses from the outside seeing the build, seeing the development, seeing the growth, but rarely do we understand the long and arduous path that it took to get there.
Mattis doesn't shy away from sharing about his challenge with ADHD, how it helped form his vision for the business but how it also set up tremendous obstacles that he had to learn to circumvent.
Stick around to the end where you'll hear about financial policies when it comes to borrowing money to help fuel growth for business, and how refusing to rely on debt has helped carry the business through difficult times.
There's plenty of gold dust here for many people in business, regardless of which industry you're in.

This week on The Nexus Podcast, I had the privilege of sitting down with Shraga Zaltzman.
Shraga spent over a decade leading Work Avenue, where he helped hundreds of individuals identify their strengths, build new skills, and step into careers that brought purpose and stability into their lives.
But his work went far beyond job placements. It was about restoring dignity, rebuilding confidence, and empowering people to take control of their future.
Even after stepping back from his official role, Shraga remains a trusted voice for those seeking career direction or looking to grow their businesses.
What makes this episode truly special is hearing how Shragas personal journey, facing personal difficulties from a young age, to rebuilding from the ground up, became the very foundation for the work he’s done for so many others.
I hope you enjoy

Maxi was somebody I reached out to before I even launched my first episode. At the time, I had little to show for myself, and Maxi declined my request for a conversation.
Fast forward, and gratefully we managed to lock down a time to meet and talk.
Maxi is a larger than life character and we enjoyed a fascinating conversation where he shared personal opinions and experiences on a broad range of topics, including building and scaling a business, dealing with personal setbacks and early childhood hardships, learning how to cut out the noise and stay focused on the end goal and perhaps most importantly, a valuable lesson in learning to build a healthy relationship with the ever growing demands on our attention from technology.
I hope you enjoy and benefit from listening to this conversation as much as I enjoyed having it.
