You get enough sleep. You exercise. You eat well. You practice deep breathing. You meditate. You do everything you're told to doâyet you're still exhausted.
Why?
In this episode of The On-Call Empath, Raj explores a truth that many people miss: exhaustion isn't always physical. Sometimes it's the result of constantly giving your energy away.
Every "yes" you say to someone else can cost you energy. Every healthy "no" helps protect it. Many of us spend our lives people-pleasing, overcommitting, and carrying emotional burdens that were never ours to carry.
In 2026, many people cope by endlessly scrolling their phones, binge-watching Netflix, overeating, or staying busy just to avoid what they're really feeling. Even if you're thriving in your career, you may still feel emotionally depleted, disconnected, and unmotivated.
No one is coming to save you. Reclaiming your energy starts with the choices you make every day, the boundaries you set, and the life you're willing to change.
If you've ever wondered why you're still drained despite doing everything "right," this episode is for you. It's time to stop surviving and start protecting the one resource you can't afford to loseâyour energy.

The On-Call Empath â Episode: When Empaths Turn Dark: The Rise of the Dark Empath
In this episode of The On-Call Empath, host Raj Montage explores a disturbing question: can a deeply caring empath turn dark?
We look at how unresolved trauma, emotional burnout, and the pressures of a fractured world can shift even the most compassionate people. When pain goes unhealed, empathy can become distortedâno longer used for connection, but for control.
Raj breaks down how some empaths begin to weaponize emotional awareness, using insight into othersâ feelings to manipulate, protect themselves, or even cause harm. What causes this shift, and how does it happen quietly over time?

Welcome back, Empaths. Todayâs episode is for those carrying the weight of an apology that may never comeâespecially from abusive or emotionally unavailable parents.
Itâs a deep wound, isnât it? Waiting, hoping theyâll change. That theyâll finally see your pain. But the truth? Some people never change. Not because you werenât worthy of loveâbut because they were too damaged to give it.
Generational trauma runs deep. Many parents simply repeated what they knew, unaware they were passing down pain. But hereâs the thing: you can break the cycle.
Through inner child workâacknowledging the parts of you that were ignored, shamed, or silencedâyou begin to reparent yourself. You give you what they couldnât.
And no, closure doesn't always come in the form of an apology. Sometimes, it's choosing peace over bitterness. Forgiveness doesnât excuse their behaviorâit frees you.
In this episode, weâll explore how to heal without the apology, how to reconnect with your inner child, and how to finally break the cycleâfor you and the generations that follow.

Coming out of trauma isnât a straight pathâitâs messy, painful, and often lonely. But the truth is, we donât give ourselves enough credit for how far weâve come. Surviving the storm takes strength most people never see. In this episode, we talk about what it means to strive for peace instead of chasing happiness. Because happiness is fleetingâbut peace, peace is something we can build from within, one moment at a time.
Life will always have its ups and downs. People will let us down, sometimes even those closest to us. But the real power lies in how we respond. Do we shut down, or do we learn to breathe through it and keep showing up for ourselves?
If youâre reading this, youâve already made it through some of the hardest days of your life. Youâre still breathing. Youâre still standing. And that matters. Healing doesnât mean forgetting what happenedâit means learning how to live again, on your terms.
This isnât about perfection. Itâs about resilience. Itâs about finding the courage to move forward even when the past tries to pull you back. Youâre not brokenâyouâre becoming.

Sometimes we treat doing nothing like a crime. Like weâve failed somehow if weâre not productive, not checking things off, not improving ourselves every waking second. But hereâs the truth: doing nothing isnât lazy. Itâs necessary.
Rest isn't always sleeping or meditating or going on a wellness retreat. Sometimes, itâs lying on the floor and staring at the ceiling. Scrolling without purpose. Sitting in silence with a cup of something warm. Not fixing anything. Not solving your life.
And when you live with depression, even just surviving the day is a full-time job. So if all you did today was breathe, thatâs not nothing â thatâs enough.
Doing nothing can be an act of quiet rebellion in a world obsessed with hustle. Itâs a way of saying: My worth isnât measured by my output. Iâm allowed to exist without constantly performing wellness or productivity.
So today, if you need it â take the pause. Unplug. Un-do. Un-become for a while. You donât owe anyone your energy, especially when youâre running low.
You donât need to fix yourself to be worthy.
Rest isnât laziness â itâs an act of self-acceptance.
Doing nothing can be an art form, especially when you're struggling.
Always look forward to something- no matter how small.

The dark side of social media and AI isnât just about dataâitâs about humanity. Unlike the 1980s, when life felt slower, more connected, and real, today weâre trapped in an endless scroll. Social media was sold as a tool for connection, but it's left millions feeling lonelier than ever. We compare, we consume, we chase validation through likes and views. AI algorithms know our weaknesses better than we doâthey feed our insecurities, amplify our fears, and keep us addicted for profit.
Depression and anxiety have skyrocketed, especially among younger generations whoâve never known a world without screens. Weâve traded eye contact for filters, deep conversation for comment sections, and authentic joy for performative perfection. We're overstimulated, emotionally exhausted, and spiritually starved. This isnât livingâthis is digital survival.
Itâs not like the 80s, where joy came from real experiences, not curated ones. Weâve been hijacked by systems designed to exploit our emotions, and weâre paying the price with our mental health. Itâs time we wake up, disconnect, and remember what it means to be human.
