This is a less edited episode than usual, and one that is relatively unscripted. Let's talk about this past year and all that has happened not only in the world but also to me personally. This year has brought a lot of setbacks for a lot of people (including myself) but growth as well! And, then 2021 opened with quite a bang. So, let's talk about what happened January 7, 2021, the hypocrisy from all sides and how everyone is to blame for the volatile state we now find this nation in

In this episode, we discuss Christians "leaving the church," and how a lot of the time, I don't believe them to have been Christians to begin with, as many leaving claim they are doing so because of what other Christians have and/or are doing now that they don't agree with. This is immature thinking, and through all of the things that I have been through in the church, I have never thought this way, as my relationship with Jesus Christ has always been my own and no one else's. Care less about what people think, be yourself and don't let other people define what you believe

In this episode, I discuss Toxic People, and how their toxicity can effect not just your own life, but others that are around you. I discuss the toxic traits I have seen and lived through and reflect on how much I have grown in an understanding of the toxic behaviors that led to my brainwashing.

In this mini episode, I discuss a subject I am very passionate about: hypocrisy. We see it everywhere and it is more prevalent than ever today, not just in the church, but also in the political realm and also just in our own personal lives and worldviews.

This episode, I discuss the topic of biblical judging. Should we judge? Should we not? Well, the answer is actually yes to both. It's a little more complicated than people think, and yet in the end, a little more simple than some think. This is a deep well to draw from and one that I myself am very passionate about, due, partly to the many misconceptions about the topic from non believers, new believers and even those who have been in the faith for a very long time.

Kashif Khan is the drummer for the band Irae, bandmate of Nathan A. Moe, whom we had on last week. He is also on staff with The Altar church, located in Johnson City, TN, created just this year by Mattie Montgomery, formerly of For Today. Theologian, writer, and great friend, are all words I would use to describe him. We have a great conversation, getting into some very deep subject matter pertaining to Christianity, doubts, predestination, and Calvinism.

This is the first, of hopefully many, Guest Spotlight episodes. I sit down with my good friend, Nathan, to discuss...… well, everything really. From music to T.V. shows, to movies, to Calvinism and more, we sit down to discuss all of it!
Nathan is a musician with the metalcore band Irae. He is a guitarist and does some vocals with the band. He was also on tour with the metalcore Comrades in November of 2019, standing in for their drummer. He also is now writing his own independent worship music. Along with being a musician, he is also a part of the Fantasy Network, doing a news show dedicated to all things fantasy.

In this first ever episode of The Overthinking Christian Podcast, we will be discussing what this podcast is, where I would like to see it go, and who I am. This is going to be the start of an amazing journey for both me and, hopefully, the listener as well.
