Kaylee Bell is incredibly ambitious but also SO grounded. She's gone from Waimate to Nashville, and it's been a long journey that is starting to really bear fruit for her and her music career. Touring life isn't easy though, and although it's not as rock and roll as it used to be, it's still important to look after yourself.
Kaylee spoke about the role manifestation has played in her success, and her connection to the universe. Kaylee has been on a health journey for a while now and found out this year that she's expecting her first child with her partner Nick.

I'm so excited to have entrepreneur, influencer, and podcaster Steph Claire Smith join me this week. Steph is such a busy person and things are about to get busier with a second child on the way so we dive into how her second pregnancy has been and what maternity leave will roughly look like for her.
Steph speaks about how running a business, being a mum and having so many people rely on her takes its toll. We talk about the role of therapy and what techniques she uses to help with her self-confidence. The most powerful thing I took away was the role of assumptions in our mental health, how they fuel anxiety and how we're so much better off without them!

Julia Matthews is in her productivity season - She's a busy mum and a successful business owner and coming to terms with the fact that she's having to make sacrifices to allow herself to thrive. "You can have it all, just not all at once" is one of my favourite quotes, and she is epitomising that right now!
Jules has her rituals as well, and although she thrives in the chaos, she does find time to do guided meditation and move her body. Dr Lucy Hone is a global leader in the field of resilience psychology, and spends her life helping people build resilience, cope with loss and navigate tough times. In this episode we talked about how to build resilience, how grief looks different for everyone and how it's important to focus on what's still good in your life when going through loss.
She also had some amazing tips for coping with the general chaos of life which resonated with me. Ruthless prioritisation and making sure you're working with your own nature to be your most productive self.

Sam Frost has been a lot of things in her time. She's been (or still is) a reality television contestant, radio host, actress, author and mental health advocate. What I got from this chat though, is that her most important job to date has been mum to Ted. We chat through the self-work Sam did before having Ted, her anxiety about becoming a mum, what she does when she's feeling a bit overwhelmed by life (tip: put down your phone and go outside) and touch on what it's like to be in the public eye when the world turns on you.
Sam is such a lovely, grounded person, and her family clearly are the most important thing in her life. I hope you enjoy this chat as much as I did!

Kate Hall aka Ethically Kate joins me this week to discuss how you can live more ethically, but without the stress we put on ourselves to be perfect. Kate and her husband live a unique life filled with quirky traditions and rituals which I love, so we dive into ways you can spice up the week and get out of ruts.

Cassandra Grodd is an author, an entrepreneur and a wellness advocate. It would be easy to typecast her, but everyone's journeys have twists, and Cassandra is no different.
From a battling with an eating disorder as a teenager, and struggling to find confidence in herself, she's embraced the idea of fake it until you make it and designed a life so that she can be her best self. In this episode she talks about dedicating time to set up your day and bringing main character energy. This episode of Slow It Down is a little heavier than we usually go, but it's an important and inspiring story. Janelle Brunton-Rennie is one of the strongest people I know, and she speaks to me this week about navigating losing a partner and how important resilience is when we hit periods of grief in our life.
Grief isn't openly discussed in western culture, and this episode shines a light on what it's like on the inside, and I’m so grateful to be able to share it. Janelle also has some amazing rituals that she has developed to find moments of bliss which she still uses today.

Joining me this week to Slow It Down is Matilda Green. Matilda and her husband Art also made the move out of the big smoke and in this ep we talk about how they are still learning to slow life down and enjoy the small moments.
I love how Matilda consciously takes time out to have fun with her kids when she's feeling overwhelmed and doesn't take herself too seriously. She also shares how the small acts in community can really make you feel connected, as well as some amazing advice for her younger self.

In this ep I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for tuning into the podcast over the last 12 months!It's no secret it's been a brand new chapter in my life and I have been navigating some very new waters and to be honest it's time I took a little break. I am so excited to continue this podcast and make it bigger and better but to do that I just am going to recharge the batteries for a bit and hone into the direction of the content more. Today on the pod I am joined by the host of The Self-Love Club podcast Bel Crawford. Bel and I used to work together at the radio station ZM and this was the first time catching up in a long time! In this chat we discover a bunch of topics and differentiate self love versus self care. Bel kindly opens up about an eating disorder she experienced when she was in her late teens and discusses how she navigated that in a time when people weren’t so open about mental health (trigger warning: disordered eating).
