  • Branden Steineckert was a founding member of The Used and the driving force behind the band until they kicked him out for being sober in 2006. While that could crush a man, Branden dove onto wakeboarding for a couple of months and came out the other side as the drummer for Rancid, which has been his job for the past 15 years. While that’s worthy of its own podcast, we spend a lot of time talking about his heavy childhood in Utah and using skateboarding as an escape. On the podcast, we talk about Ken Block, Tony Hawk, music, his Ghost Pickleball brand, and much more.

  • Alexi Godbout was born to ski instructor parents and was on his way to a pro skier future from a young age. He did the standard, started with ski racing, graduated to moguls, and then got his master's in park skiing. He went from local kid, following new school legend Philou Poirier, to a pro Salomon contract at 14 and a 20+ year pro ski career that, after years of podiums, shifted to the big mountains where he makes his “Blank Collective” films today. On the podcast, we talk about getting sponsored early, beating Tanner and Henrik at the ISPO Awards, injuries, big mountains, and more. Stan Rey asks the Inappropriate Questions.

In part 1 of the podcast, we talk about ski racing, his issues, moving to Alaska, making the US Ski Team at a young age, the struggles of an athlete on the come up and the Albertville Olympic Games. While Lou is known for being the first to climb and ski Colorado’s 54 fourteen-thousand-foot peaks, his career included a rock-climbing era, an ice-climbing era, and his mountaineering and ski mountaineering ear. He’s a living legend and is considered to be one of the godfathers of backcountry skiing in the US. • Dana Flahr wasn’t born to be the big mountain slayer he worked so hard to become. Growing up in a single-mom household, things were a struggle, but one thing Dana’s mom figured out was how to get him on the mountain and from there his passion took over. Moving to Whistler at 17, Dana didn’t party; he skied daily, honing his big mountain skills in the winter and building his trick vocabulary in the summer. That combination got him a tryout with TGR, where he sent it harder than almost anyone in their movies then. Over the years, he’s won Powder Awards, earned the respect of the best in the business, and banged out video jaw-dropping TGR segments and more each season. Eventually, burnout got the best of Dana, and he disappeared. We talk about it all and more on the podcast. Ian Macintosh asks the Inappropriate Questions. and that turned into Powder Awards

  • Gordi Eaton is a legend in the ski industry, and while many people don’t know his name, because he was born in 1939, he’s had a huge impact in the development of modern ski technology. Before he was involved in helping to bring sidecut, shape, top shape, rocker, and so much more tech to the table, Gordi was an Olympian on the first Bob Beattie-created US Ski Teams that featured athletes like Bill Marolt and Buddy Werner. Then, after coaching at the highest level, Gordi became K2’s Race Director, a sales rep, and more. Part 2 with Luke talking more about Festical, one of events that fills the pages of his proven brand building-sell through strategy playbook and then we move on to discussing his moves to Atomic, Rossignol, Ogio, Skullcandy and Traeger. • Luke Edgar has had a legendary career in building lifestyle brands and keeping them not only relevant but in demand. What makes Luke’s story so wild is that while his history goes back to the early days of snowboarding, the reason he pursued a career in “action sports” is because he learned to surf while he was in the army. And when he got out, his life revolved around snowboarding when the sport was in its infancy in the PNW. On the podcast we talk about the early PNW snowboard scene, modeling, Craig Kelly, trade shows, getting sponsored, K2 and so much more. John O’Connor asks the Inappropriate Questions.

  • Tommy Czeschin was born into a life of mountains and lakes, so it’s no surprise that he loves snowboarding and water sports-but what’s shocking is that he was able to go pro in both. Not too bad for the quiet kid with talent who started ski racing and was the forerunner for the Jr Olympics before seeing snowboarding and making the switch. Within 5 years, he was traveling the world with the US Snowboard Team, standing on the top of World Cup podiums, winning X Games medals, and eventually making the 2002 Olympic Team. After his snowboarding, he was an early adopter of wake surfing and these days, he gets paid to ride behind a boat among other things. It’s kind of like Deion Sanders, Bo Jackson, or a Shaun White-type story, only different. Don Wallace asks the “Inappropriate Questions”
