I designed this episode to give you the most recent tools and method I have for quitting vaping after coaching on it for the last few months. As I continue to teach this material, I get better at it and today's episode is designed for any new or seasoned listeners to get the best stuff I've currently got.
Vaping has 3 addictions. If you deal with all 3, you can quit for good by dealing with the complete picture of nicotine addiciton. It is that simple and that is why what I teach wors for everyone willing to learn and apply it.

Today will be the 2nd to last episode in this show. It is bittersweet for me as I continue to grow and move on to other mediums to deliver this content. I will still be around and working with helping people quit vaping and create the lives they want. My Brand New program will be out around the first week of January, 2024.

Our society does two things that get us into a lot of trouble
It teaches us that we should be happy all the time.It concentrates things that release dopamine and sills our environments with them.When we abuse our dopamine system, the mechanism designed to motivate us, it throws us completely out of wack and ends up creating a lot more harm than good.
Taking a dopamine detox isn't just about stopping the quick hits, it's about understanding why it is beneficial to not constantly consume artificial dopamie hits in the first place.

The thesis of what I teach when it comes to quitting vaping is to learn the skill of managing the thoughts in your head.
In addition, I teach people how to regulate their emotions without substances like nicotine.
Why do I teach this?
Because your thoughts create your emotions which drive your actions. That means if your vaping, it's because of emotions in your body caused by thoughts in your head.

There are a lot of misconseptions and opinions in the clinical mental health world. I personally have been bombarded with misinformation throughout my time getting a 4-year degree ni psychology, working in a psychiatric hopsital, and dealing with my own clinical depression.
Today, I am here to give you my opinion about how vaping is related to your mental health and also some other basic mental health education that I believe ALL ADULTS SHOULD LEARN. I take this shit seriously... so sriously that I have devoted my life to learning an teaching it properly.

Halloween and fall are symbolic of death and decay so that rebirth can occur in the spring. I don't normally get too woo-woo or spritual on this podcast, but I do believe that quitting vaping is a symbolic act that demonstrates a willingness to sacrifice what is no longer serving us in honor of becoming the best versions of ourselves.
The thing that you need most is in the place you're least willing to look. That means the emotions we avoid with nicotine are exactly the ones we have to learn to courageously face in order to get what we want in life.

So many people make quitting a dreadful process by setting and anxiously vaping right up until it comes. That is completly unnecessary and frankly, a really unpleasant and unloving way to quit.
The way that I teach people to quit vaping is by learning how to be completely present with themselves and the whole range of their emotions. Thought and emotional work is a process that takes time. And that's okay.
Once you understand that you have full control over the thoughts in your mind and the way you resond to your emotions, you no longer need to rush to the end goal and can enjoy the whole process of quitting. The best way to quit for good is to learn the tools now, and then quit naturally when you feel you've gotten them down.

So many people set goals because they think that the accomplishment of those goals is will brings them good-feeling emotions. Here's the thing, you results don't create your emotions... Your thoughts do! That means if you wait to feel good until you achieve a difficult goal, the chances are high that you will NEVER make it.
The real accomplishent is learning to enjoy the process on the way to the goal. If you feel like you have been rushing into quitting or in a hurry to be a non-vaper, I recommend that you ask yourself why you think you need to rush... more specifically what emotions you think quitting will bring you, then help yourself to practice feeling those emotions now.
If you shame yourself into quitting, you will find that even after you quit, you've gotten really good at feeling shame and you will find ways to expereince it as a non-vaper as well. It's how your emotions work. The good news... it worked the EXACT same with positive emotions like self-love and respect.

One of the main reasons why we use substances like nicotine, food, alcohol, and abuse medications is because they allow us to tolerate lives that we are deeply unhappy with. When we quit, we are choosing to experience the whole truth of our livess. Although this can be an unconfortable experience, it is a transformative experience that allows us to understand and change what is no longer serving us.
Although addictions create a sense of false happiness in our lives, they ironically make our lives much more UNhappy overally. That is the paradox of addiction.

I start off today's episode with a little into about where I am going with my business and quit vaping program. Then I segue into teaching you why quitting has been so hard for you in the past.
A lot of people try to modify beavior before learning about WHY they are acting out the behavior in the first place. If you want to make quitting permanent, the best way is to zoom out so that you can find the root problem creating the behavior. Once you get to the root of any problem, you can eliminate it all together instead of trating symptoms.

A lot of what I teach is pretty basic... think intentional thought and learn how to feel your emotions. However, putting it ito pracitce is where the real work and magic is. You can quit vaping for good and it can be easy, but you've got to be willing ot love yourself enough to be with just you without distraction.

You cannot modify behavior for the long-run with guilt and shame. In fact, the best ay to do things that improve our lives in the long run is to do it from a place of deep self love. Loving yourself is actually a skill that you can learn and practice. And, it is the best way to quit vaping because it is permanent and guarantees you won't jump from vaping to some other harmful beahvior.
The Best of Both Worlds: Love yourself now and use that love to quit for good. THAT is what I teach... and it works so well!
