Race recap for the 2023 Eagle Up Ultra in Ohio on june 4th . This was a rough one that wrecked me in a new way. A lot of lessons will be learned from this and hopefully will result in not making the same mistakes. Enjoy this race recap which ends closer to a train wreck than anything else

As coincidence would have it I was out running the Eagle Up ultra last weekend and kept getting lapped by this random guy. The random guy turned out to be Heath Goshorn who just set the Eagle Up Ultra in Canal Fulton, Ohio course record for the 100 miler in 14:54:33. Previous record was set by Arlen Glick in 2018. This was Heathās first 100 miler making the accomplishment even more impressive. Podcast covers some of his experience during the race as well as his nutrition/hydration strategy. We also covered some of his early story about what got him into running. Heathās next big race will be the Burning River 100.

September 4th I started my first attempt at running 100 miles.
28 hours,51 minutes, 10,000 feet of elevation gain, one stress fracture, and a 6 hour rainstorm laterā¦.I finished.
I really tried to make this video short but thereās too much to sum this up in 15-20 minutes. Especially since this is my first one, I wanted to hit all the details for something to look back on.
Thank you to everyone for the kind messages and encouragement before and after the race.
To end with, the Tuscazoar 100 is an incredible race run by amazing people and volunteers. Beautiful race ran well from start to finish and I really recommend this to any ultra runners out there looking for their next challenge.

I ran my first ultra marathon (running with my gnomies 50k) two weeks ago at camp tuscazoar) I went through the full spectrum of experience from wet feet to bonking around mile 25. A lot of doubt and negative thought loops occurred in this process but it was an incredibly gratifying experience and I wanted to share the story.
