Brandon Small, a military expatriate in Kanagawa, Japan, grew up with ADHD. As a child, he struggled throughout his academics, and as an adult he still finds it difficult to focus on any subject that requires concentration except for one: photography.
For Brandon, ADHD helps enhance his photography, and he's learned to train his eye and attention for the small things he might have not seen without his condition.
Hear all about his stories and how he uses ADHD to his advantage in this episode of The Visual Artist's Spotlight.

In this episode, I interview Jared Smith, a tattoo artist originally from Pennsylvania. Jared works at Authentic Tattoo in San Francisco.
He bought his first tattoo machine at 15, and began his experiments with tattooing by messing around by tattooing himself and friends. He completed his first apprenticeship and started tattooing professionally for the first time in 2008. After a 2nd apprenticeship, he started tattooing again in 2017
Now he's a resident of San Francisco with Authentic Tattoo. Japanese ukiyo-e, or woodblock printing, is his source of inspiration, but he isn't afraid to try out new styles to suit his clients.
Hear all about his stories and how he launched his career in this episode of The Visual Artist's Spotlight.
