  • Joining Kari on The Well Podcast for episode 210 is Ashley, Kari’s behind the scenes assistant. Ashley is a wife to Brian of 14 years, does life in southwest Ohio with her three kids, and enjoys writing and encouraging other women in Biblical wifehood.

    After a turn in Ashley’s marriage, Ashley decided to commit to praying for her husband for 30 days and “Things did change, my heart and his heart softened, he was more receptive to me and our time spent together was different”.

    Wherever you’re at, whether you’re in a praying season, sometimes we pray differently in different seasons. The prayer challenge has really been an accountability tool for Ashley, it was born out of the idea that “I’m struggling in this area, come alongside and do it with me.”

    Kari: What are some of the prayers you go through?

    Ashley: There is a wide variety and there’s not really a necessary order to them, but prayers for his rest, his integrity, his peace, his sin, his repentance, his work, his relationships, his ministry, etc. It really actually changed my heart in the process.

    Kari: That’s the amazing part of this is in a marriage, two become one. As we pray for these things, it’s in such an intimate way.

    Ashley: It’s a relationship that nothing else touches. No other relationship has so much power to do so much good but also so much harm at the same time.

She shares her heart of how she spent almost a decade decluttering which was born out of her struggle with infertility and her hopes of one day having space for a baby.

    Peace - clutter stresses us out, no matter our clutter threshold

    It actually affects our cortisol levels.

    Clutter impacts your sleep because your brain registers clutter as undone tasks.

    Energy

    Declutter fatigue is a real thing and it’s causing us to feel stuck.

    If we can remove unnecessary decisions we can have more energy to make decisions that matter.

  • Self care is beyond a manicure, here are my favorite 5 things right now for movement, meal planning, skin, digestion and anti-aging.

Meal prepping to get in 100-150 grams of protein. Getting your protein in won't happen on accident.     1. We don't stick to our inspired goal because it is unrealistic.

    3. You have thoughts that you are believing that you don't even know are there. You carry stories like "I'm not safe" "I'm not enough" or your fear of failure from past experiences or current comparison/ toxic thoughts.
