On this weekâs podcast, weâre talking Richmond Flying Squirrels and their magical first half. First I speak with Richmond manager Dennis Pelfrey regarding the success his group has had, not only with the W-L record, but also with helping prepare their players to move onwards and upwards. Then I talk with Richmond Director Communications, Trey Wilson, about the teamâs spectacular new stadium and the fun ride this first half has been.

Itâs a Richmond Flying Squirrel bonanza, as I roll out a bunch of player interviews from the past two homestands. I talk with Parks Harber about his health, his experience in big league camp, and his work in the outfield. Virginian Ty Hanchey relives a magical moment in front of friends and family. Joe Whitman talks about the growth heâs made since last year. And Mitch White recounts the long road to his dream of being a professional. Itâs a great group of really likable young men who have traveled really disparate baseball journeys â but who are all aiming for the same destination.

Joe Doyle, draft expert from Overslot Baseball dot com and the MLB Draft Podcast, joins me to talk a little 2026 draft. Joe and I get into why floating Roch Cholowsky âisnât a thing,â the chance of things getting squirrelly in the top three, and how the new #29 pick (and its associated bonus pool money) could affect the Giantsâ draft strategy. Itâs always a good one when Joe joins me on the pod!

Of course, I needed to post this immediately after we recorded yesterday, otherwise I was just tempting the Gods with that âLou Brown winning streakâ stuff. But otherwise, Kerry and I had a lot to dig into with the Giantsâ content-generating ways of late!

Perfect timing for this weekâs pod, as the two heroes from last nightâs walk-off victory at CarMax Park both sat down with me this week to discuss comebacks and walk offs (naturally) as well as what makes this Richmond team such a special group and what sort of work is going on in the background to help drive success. Two extremely impressive young men who are a joy to talk to â and I hope to listen to as well!

Iâve already share these interviews in video format, but I know folks come to my content from different places and with different preferences for consuming information, so Iâm going to include them as a standalone podcast as well. These interviews with Richmond Flying Squirrels pitchers Greg Farone and Tyler Vogel were conducted in the first week at home at the brand new CarMax Park as the pair has both just gotten into one game each. Since then Farone has started two more games and Vogel has established himself as the team closer, picking up four Saves already on the year.

Iâm joined this week by my friend, Wrenzie Regodon, who you probably know as Giant Prospective on Twitter or at his Patreon site. As usual, we spend a long time looking over all four of the affiliate rosters and picking out the most interesting parts of the rosters, as well as tabbing sleepers, stars, and other players who catch our eyes! Itâs a long one so settle in!

On this weekâs pod, I have a sort of hybrid for you from my spring training trip to Scottsdale. First, Iâm flying solo, talking about the players that have jumped out at me during my time at Papago Park the past week or so. Itâs been a fun trip, with a lot of bats really standing out in my looks.
And then in the second half of the program (20:45 mark), I have a short interview with Gavin Kilen, whom I was able to talk to for a few minutes before last weekâs Spring Breakout game. Kilen, last yearâs 1st round pick, was a little dinged up from the end of his Tennessee season when he joined the Giants last summer, but he is looking strong this spring and raring to go â and should be one of the top bats in the system when the minor league season starts next weekend.

Giantsâ young OF prospect, Carlos Gutierrez, is my guest on this weekâs podcast. We talk about his surprise at making the San Jose squad last year â and the amazing season he had there. We also talk about his efforts to over come the continuing back issues that have sidelined him, and his hopes for the coming year.
As the organization looks to develop more well-rounded players with supreme contact skills, Gutierrez figures to be a big part of the coming wave of outfielders, with his long history of outstanding bat-to-ball ability and that sweet left-handed swing. You also get a sense here for how smart a player he is, and what heâs looking to improve in his game. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

My guest this week is Giantsâ left-hander, Luis de la Torre, who is coming off one of the biggest and most unexpected break out campaigns of 2025. De la Torre talks about when he knew big things were coming for him, how it felt to be given the starting assignment for the Cal League clincher, and the many big goals he has set for himself in 2026. Heâs going to be one of the really fun talents to watch in the upcoming year, and as you will hear, heâs got some big plans for what he wants to accomplish!
