The Wild Turkey brand has become as synonymous with bourbon as its master distiller, Jimmy Russell, has during his 70 year tenure at the Campari-owned company. It never ceases to amaze me how similar collectors are across all mediums and spaces and scenes. From cars to baseball cards to comic books, everybody's hobby is driven by one thing: exclusivity. But the line between bourbon and shoe collectors is often so blurred that the Venn diagram at times looks more like a circle. And, when someone like Eric "The Whiskey Mutant" Smith is so deeply ingrained in both of those worlds, it means that he's the prime candidate to dissect just how alike these two interests can be. It's been quite a while since our old pal Swan has joined us for an episode of This is my Bourbon Podcast, and it's been just about as long since this episode was recorded! That's right, folks, we've got an episode from the vaults that was recorded all the way back in 2020 in anticipation of my daughter being born, and we haven't had a chance to release it until now! We review the Benchmark Bonded Bourbon and compare it to a few other Bottled in Bond bourbons on the market that still are DEFINITELY still out there, and it's a great chance to relive the olden days of TIMBP. It's been a minute since we've last seen each other, folks, and so much has happened since then. Perry (me, the guy writing this out) has been gone in Florida for a couple weeks, and he's got so much to catch you up on from his drinking adventures in Walt Disney World!
