The great tourney of Harrenhal was slowly coming to an end, and the mood was simmering. As the jousts ended, the lords turned to their cups to discuss what they had seen, whether it be the men on their destriers or the ladies watching in the gallery. For many, the talk was on Rhaegar and how he rode like a demon. Others talked about Robert and Lyanna and how he had been dishonored by Rhaegarβs actions.
The young Baratheon himself was heavy in his cups.

As the smoke clears from Robertβs Rebellion, the rebel leaders regard their unexpected allies wearily. Ned Stark had arrived in the capital first, expecting a fight. But as his forces arrive at the gates of Kingβs Landing, he finds that it has already been seized, and the banners that flutter on the battlements are not those of the Targaryens, but the Lannisters.
The horror only grows when he reaches the Red Keep and sees firsthand what the Lannisters have done.

The waters around Stormβs End are crisp and choppy, making it impossible for most sailors to make landfall in the castle with this weather. But one ship, a small boat with black sail, cuts through the waves with practiced ease.

In the other room, Cersei is brooding and likely cursing his name for what Joffrey had done. The brat had opened up a cat's belly to peek and see the unborn kittens. Robert had ended up knocking out his baby teeth to discipline him.

Robb stares at the letter in his hands, trying to make sense of everything happening. This had been sent to him by his father, very likely the last letter he had written before he was arrested. Though Robb does not want to believe it, they could be his last words to him.
And those same words shatter the world around him.
He reads the text over once again to make sure he is not hallucinating. It is a warning that the royal children are not truly the kings.
