Jack and Mark review Newcastle's big cup win over Chelsea as the Magpies record a comfortable 2-0 win to progress to the Carabao Cup Quarter-Final.
The midfield balance looked good with Longstaff and Willock starting and Joelinton out on the left wing. How is Eddie going to manage his midfield moving forward?
There was also a good performance by Lloyd Kelly and another strong showing from Lewis Hall, who now looks fully up to speed. What are the chances of the changes being kept for the Arsenal challenge at the weekend?
Hopefully a season changing and momentum shifting win for the Magpies!

Jack and Dimi ask what went wrong as a misfiring Magpieslost a home league game for the first time since January.
It was another tale of missed chances as, for the secondgame in a row, Newcastle squandered glorious opportunities to score when they were in control of the game. Ultimately, Newcastle had no response to afirst-half sucker punch from Danny Welbeck as Brighton continued their Premier League hoodoo over the Magpies.
We ask why the attack isn’t clicking, and how much of aconcern is there with the form of talismen Isak and Gordon? Is there any consolation in another decent overall performance, or do we need to redraw pre-season expectations?
All this and plenty more brought to you by the Toon UnderPodcast.

Jack and Craig look back at the dullest game in decades as Newcastle laboured to a 1-0 win over League Two Wimbledon in an instantly forgettable Carabao Cup clash, before looking ahead to the club's last visit to Goodison Park at the weekend.
The bulk of the chat, however, centres on St James' Park as new reports come out about the 'imminent' stadium feasibility study which has been progressing behind the scenes. How realistic is it for Newcastle to renovate St James' Park to bring it up to a suitable size and modern standards? We also speculate on what the money men in PIF might really be thinking when it comes to the stadium redevelopment.

Craig & Lee breakdown the home game at St James' Park as Eddie and his Mighty Mags entertained the current league Champions, Manchester City.
The Press was back, the midfield had more bite and BDB was man mountain in defense and against one the the world's best strikers.
The lads also touch on the rearraigned cup against Wimbledon midweek and how we shouldn't count our chickens just yet!
-
Mark and Lee recap the recent drama at Wimbledon and our next round opponents in Chelsea (if we get through), before turning their attention towards the daunting weekend game against Manchester City.

Keegan and Jack assess what went wrong at Craven Cottage as Newcastle succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Fulham.
It was an uphill battle from the first half as the Cottagers raced into a deserved 2-0 lead as the Magpies midfield was dominated. We ask what is going wrong with the midfield, and what does Sandro Tonali have to do to get a start?
We also discuss whether the ongoing destabilisation of the club is having a knock on effect into the performances of the team, as results finally catch up with the generally poor showings this season, and the mood around the club darkens.
-
Fulham fan Skibby from That's So Craven podcast joins Jack to preview the upcoming game at Craven Cottage.
Skibby provides the lowdown on Fulham, who have had torebuild their midfield following the summer departure of Palinha. How are they attempting to plug the gap and how has it been going so far?
We look at some of the recent games between the clubs with Newcastle coming out on top in each of the last five games. What are some of the tactical areas of focus for this game, and where might it be won and lost?
We also reminisce about a certain Serbian striker who graced both clubs.
All of this and much more on the Toon Under Pod!

Keegan, Lee and Dimi talk about the crucial come from behind win away at Wolves, continuing the unbeaten start and making it 10 points from 12 to start the new season.
They discuss the curious team selection from Eddie, with big guns left on the bench, with the first half repeating a familiar pattern with a drop off leading to conceeding half way through the half.
They discuss Eddie being unusually bold with 3 half time subs, and how much of an impact they had on the result, with Barnes' goal record off the bench particularly interesting.
Finally, they discuss how crucial Pope is to the team, and whether he is the MVP of the side, in terms of how he influences results.

Jack catches up with Stu from the Wolves Fancast to preview the match at Molineux this weekend.
There appears to be some discontent around Wolves lately.Stu explains why the fans are not all thrilled with the model at Molineux and gives us the lowdown on Gary O’Neil, who has won the fans round after a sticky start. We also chat PSR and what it means for football in 2024.
We look back on some of the recent games between the clubs and discuss whether Leo Hwang Messi will be on the team sheet on Sunday.
All this and plenty more in the Toon Under preview!

Jack and Dimi pick through the rubble of the transfer window and try to make sense of The Magpies’ summer of discontent.
We ask why the Newcastle ended up in such a precarioussituation in June, what could have been done to avoid that and how it ended up spilling over into the rest of the transfer window.
New Sporting Director Paul Mitchell did a round ofinterviews in the wake of the window closing to try and give his perspective on what happened. We analyse his words and assess what they mean for the future.
We also touch on the consequences of this summer both forEddie Howe and the club as a whole as we come up to three years of PIF ownership. Has this set the project back and what needs to happen from here toget back on track?
-
Keegan and Dimi talk about the massive win at home against Spurs, making it 7 points from 9 to start the new season.
They debate how much of a threat Spurs really were, despite having the lion’s share of the game and keeping the toon under long periods of sustained pressure.
Finally, they go through Eddie's new plan to combat our makeshift defence, and whether it's the right way to play or not.
-
Mark & Lee talk about the close call cup game against Nottingham Forest at The City Ground. Eddie's Mags started like a house on fire scoring after just 18 seconds but that old cliche of scoring too soon was true as Forest equalized but it was the Toon that prevailed by winning the penalty shoot-out 3-4 with Longstaff getting the winner.
The lads wax lyrical on the return of Sandro Tonali after his 10 month ban and put in a performance worthy of Man of the match.
They also do a quick preview of the Spurs game this weekend before we head into the international break
-
Keegan, Jack and Dimi review Newcastle's clunky 1-1 draw at Bournemouth as a Gordon equaliser rescued a point and kept the Magpies undefeated.
There were some decent flashes from Howe's men but overall they were fortunate to escape with a draw as another game seemed to pass the team by. We ask why things seem so disjointed at this early stage of the season and what can be done to address it.
It's also the start of a huge week for everyone at the club with the transfer window closing in one week and a cup tie at Forest to take care of. What do Newcastle need to do this week as a club and a team for it to be a success?
