This episode came from realizing that something I called âself-careâ was actually costing me more than I wanted to admit.
Iâve spent years talking about living unapologetically - building businesses, raising kids, and helping women step into confidence. But I hadnât fully questioned the expectations Iâd absorbed around aging and appearance.
Instead of chasing youth, I started asking different questions about sustainability, health, and longevity - especially as a mother later in life. This conversation isnât about rejecting beauty or telling anyone what to do. Itâs about examining the pressure women quietly live under and deciding whatâs actually worth keeping.
This episode is an honest reflection on aging, identity, and choosing what aligns with the life you want now - not the standards you inherited.

This episode was inspired by a pattern I see all the time.
Women come into my community thinking theyâre behind⊠thinking they need a massive deal or a perfect strategy to get started.
So I invited the coaches from The Society of Entrepreneurial Women to share their real stories - not the highlight reels, but the first deals. The messy ones. The small ones. The ones that gave them confidence before they ever gave them cash flow.
If youâve been waiting for permission to start where you are - consider this it.

What do you do when everyone says your idea wonât work⊠and the market youâre choosing seems like a âwaste of timeâ?
Most people back down. Destiny Rowell didnât.
In todayâs episode, we get into how she went from a single coffee truck to a multi-state franchise, even though she didnât start with experience, connections, or a love for coffee.
What she did have was a different way of looking at business, a willingness to build systems, and a real understanding of how small-town communities work.
We talk through the whole journey - the wins, the setbacks, the really personal chapters of marriage and motherhood - and how she built a company that grows because of people, not in spite of them.
If youâve ever felt like youâre âlate,â âunqualified,â or building something in a place no one else believes in⊠this one will hit home.

Thereâs a moment in every entrepreneurâs journey when you realize the strategy you started with canât take you where you want to go. In this episode, Beth Kolk opens up about that exact turning point. As rental arbitrage became harder to profit from, she and her husband recognized the shift early and transitioned into co-hosting long before the market pushed them in that direction. Today, that pivot has grown into a nearly 60-property operation built through clarity, timing, and the willingness to evolve.
But this conversation isnât just about business. Beth shares the emotional side of entrepreneurship - the identity changes that come with stepping away from stable careers, what itâs like to build a company alongside someone who thinks completely differently than you do, and the challenges of hiring, delegating, and learning to trust other people with the work that used to live entirely on your shoulders. She also talks openly about preparing for motherhood while running a growing business and the internal tension between ambition and the desire to slow down and redefine who you are becoming.
If youâve ever felt yourself caught in the middle of who you were, who youâre becoming, and the business youâre building along the way, this episode with Beth Kolk will feel like a breath of honesty you didnât know you needed.

What if one moment shattered everything you thought your life would be?
For Kathy Fettke, that moment came when her husband was suddenly diagnosed with melanoma - and doctors told them he might only have six months to live. Two little kids. A mortgage they could barely keep up with. No plan B.
But instead of breaking, Kathy turned that fear into fuel. She used her tiny weekend radio show to start interviewing successful people, desperate to learn how they built real, lasting wealth. What she discovered changed everything - and set her on a path to financial freedom, purpose, and impact.
Today, Kathy is the Co-Founder and CEO of Real Wealth, helping thousands of families create passive income and true financial independence through real estate. In this raw and powerful conversation, we talk about the mindset it takes to rebuild when life falls apart, the truth about money and fear, and why living unapologetically might just be the most radical thing you can do.
Itâs not just a story about real estate.
Itâs a story about resilience, faith, and finding freedom on the other side of fear.

I still canât believe we pulled this off. Twenty-five women gathered at my house for a tea party that turned into so much more than food and flowers. We had homemade dips, Red Lobster-style cheddar biscuits, Trader Joeâs blooms, and all the laughter that happens when women who love business and life show up in one space together.
As we prepped and cooked, the conversation got real. We talked about investing, partnerships, managing properties from across the country, raising kids who think like entrepreneurs, and even curly hair routines (because of course it did). Somewhere between the biscuits and the charcuterie board, we found ourselves talking about what it really means to build wealth, freedom, and community without losing ourselves in the process.
This day reminded me why I love what I do and why the Society of Entrepreneurial Women exists in the first place. When women come together, share openly, and cheer each other on, thereâs nothing we canât build.
If youâve been craving a space where ambition meets authenticity, this episode is for you.

What if the key to financial freedom wasnât rentals or flips, but a strategy almost no one talks about?
Thatâs exactly what Candace Horne discovered. After her divorce, she rebuilt her life as a licensed therapist and mom, but she wanted more than just stability. She wanted freedom and flexibility. That search led her to one of the most overlooked corners of real estate - mortgage note investing.
Candace shares how she turned one of the hardest seasons of her life into an opportunity, why mortgage notes became her path to independence, and how building wealth in this niche even shaped the way she looks at dating and life in her 40s.
If youâve never heard of mortgage note investing, this conversation will open your eyes to a hidden strategy that most people donât even know exists.

She built a $120 million real estate empire in just four years⊠and then realized it was destroying her.
In this episode, I sit down with Jen Ullrich, a real estate entrepreneur who scaled RV and mobile home parks into a massive portfolio while secretly burning out from 100-hour weeks and 120 days a year on the road. The hustle that made her millions also broke her.
So Jen walked away. She put her life in storage, spent seven months traveling the world, and turned to coaching, therapy, and even psychedelic-assisted healing to rediscover herself.
Now sheâs back, building again - this time with purpose, strict boundaries, and AI as her secret weapon to avoid the grind.
This is a raw, honest conversation about the hidden cost of chasing success and what it really takes to rebuild on your own terms.

What happens when everyone tells you your business idea is crazy?
For Tiffany Frank, it meant pushing forward anyway and proving everyone wrong. In a small town of just 37,000 people, she built Crave - a late-night dessert shop that turned into a thriving, multi-location business best known for its skillet cookie and safe, family-friendly atmosphere.
In this episode of Unapologetically Me with Heather Blankenship, Tiffany shares how she went from real estate agent to dessert entrepreneur, how her partnership with her husband became the backbone of the business, and why sheâs now focused on building something her kids and grandkids can inherit.
Her story shows that sometimes the craziest ideas are the ones worth chasing.

What if your backyard could pay your bills? Thatâs exactly what happened for Jen Reelitz. What started as a simple love for planting fruit trees turned into tours, plant sales, and eventually a full-time business that replaced her income in just six months.
In this episode, Jen opens up about the leap from a decade-long nonprofit job into entrepreneurship, the surprising demand for food forests, and why she believes perennials are the secret weapon for low-maintenance abundance. We also get into life as a mom of three boys, what it looks like to balance faith and business, and even take a detour into the kitchen for some guacamole and mango salsa.
Itâs part business story, part lifestyle inspiration, and part practical guide for anyone whoâs ever wondered if the things they love could actually become the thing that pays the bills.

Heather Blankenship is catching up with her childhood bestie, Amber Mooneyham - and letâs just say, this convo has everything.
Weâre talking 13 years of running a womenâs boutique (and the not-so-glamorous reality behind the âcute clothes all dayâ fantasy). Amber spills on slow season stress, wild buying trips to market, and why she cheers on her competition instead of seeing them as rivals. Then⊠we get personal. Like really personal. From the premature birth of her twin boys to Peytonâs cerebral palsy diagnosis, Amber opens up about the hard stuff, the unexpected joy, and the family thatâs been her rock through it all (including a sister who basically became Super Aunt and a husband whoâs pure zen).
Youâll leave inspired, smiling, and maybe feeling like you just made two new friends yourself.
