    In this episode, we talk about how to recognize, deal with, and prevent future feelings of being an imposter. Spoiler alert - men feel it too. The difference? They take action anyway.

    Ready to move out of imposter feelings, here are the 3 R’s for success:

    Remember – Remember that imposter syndrome is just a thought, not reality. It’s something many people feel, even the most successful. Don’t let it trick you into thinking you don’t belong.

    Recall – When doubt creeps in, recall your wins, the skills you’ve built, and everything you’ve already achieved. You’ve done it before, and you can do it again.

    Reframe – Reframe those negative thoughts into positive affirmations. Instead of “I’m not good enough,” tell yourself, “I bring something unique, and there’s room for me.”

  • It’s fall, Podsters! The chill in the morning air, the sweatshirts coming out of storage, leaves falling (yes, my lawn is covered in leaves) all mean one thing – summer is over. And as summer winds down, you might find yourself feeling a bit of that seasonal stress creeping in. You know what I mean… the shift from the laid-back vibe of summer to the busyness of fall can be a lot to handle.

    Enter, September Scaries.

    You’re not alone Podsters and guess what? This is the perfect time to level up in both your life and business, and this week’s episode will help you to do just that.

    Today I’m sharing three key tips to help you smoothly transition into fall while keeping your momentum strong. Summer might have been all about relaxing and recharging, but as we move into the last quarter of the year, it’s time to get clear on what you really want to accomplish before the year wraps up.

    Right now, is the best time for a re-focus. It’s like a second New Year!

    With shorter days and a busier schedule, it’s easy to feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day so we have to curate our commitments.

    How? By taking a strategic approach to your calendar. Before committing to new obligations, ask yourself, "Will I want to do this when the time comes?" With the summer freedom feeling it’s easier to say yes to more things, but as we roll into fall we have to manage our energy a little differently.

    This means, really asking yourself what you want to commit to and leaving some room in your schedule.

    What if you choose one day in your schedule where you don’t schedule anything at all and simply let things play out and happen for you!

    Life happens, and it’s crucial to create space for those unexpected moments and for times when you just need to pause, play, and regroup. Having this space not only allows you to focus to move your life and business forward and leaves time for those unexpected delightful days of fun with your friends and family.

    So, if you’re feeling that end-of-summer stress, Podsters, I got you. Together, we’ll turn those September Scaries into the fuel you need to thrive this fall and beyond.

  • Look around, Podsters - and look closely. Your environment (the people you hang with, the places you go, the information you take in, all of it) shapes your thoughts and beliefs. Your beliefs shape your behavior. And we all know – your behavior shapes your outcomes. So, I ask…

    Who are you surrounding yourself with?

    You know the saying, "your net worth is the average of the five people you spend the most time with"? Well, I'd take it a step further and say your value (which is your currency), is shaped by those same people. How you see and value yourself affects how others do, and if you're not hanging out with people who inspire you, challenge you, and are on the path you want to be on, professionally or personally, it's time to rethink your circle.

    Podsters, it's true. You become what you surround yourself with. The people in your life, their energy, their mindset, ALL OF THIS has a massive impact on what you think, your beliefs and how you show up.

    And eventually, you’ll start to reflect the ideas, thoughts, goals and opinions of those around you as well - so make sure these are people you admire, people whose qualities and successes you want to emulate.

    Today, podsters I invite you to take a good hard look around; your friends, your colleagues, your family, your professional networks, how you spend your precious time and who you spend it with…. are these the people who will support you, believe in you and help you get where you want to go?

    As we get ready for fall, and the “back to school” frenzy, it’s the perfect time to assess who you're spending time with on the playground of life.

    Let’s unpack this in a real, practical way. No cheesy quotes or overused memes, just an honest look at how the company you keep can significantly impact your journey.

    As summer winds down, let’s use these quiet moments to re-evaluate and ensure that we're surrounding ourselves with people who are lifting us up, pushing us forward, and helping us to achieve our goals.

    If really want to level up, it's time to pay attention to who’s in your circle.

    We're in the heart of summer, and distractions are everywhere, so staying focused and true to yourself professionally can be tough. Today, I'm sharing three steps to get yourself back on track when you're just not that into it.

    First, know and leverage your peak productivity.

    You know when you're most productive so schedule your most important work during that time. For example, I'm a morning person, so I tackle my big tasks early, and if those “distractions” are calling, I bang out what I need to do a little earlier so I can enjoy whatever it is that’s distracting me. Figure out your peak performance time and plan accordingly to maximize your efficiency.

    Second, sweep your own porch.

    This means taking care of yourself and knowing what you need to do to thrive. I keep a “thrive “list to remind me how simple it is to get back to ME. This list includes things like drinking water, getting some sun, or phoning a friend. Do what you need to feel good and set at the tone for your life (and your success).

    Third, step out when you need to.

    Sometimes, taking a break is the best way to reset. Whether it's a quick walk, a day off, or just some quiet time, honor your need for a breather. It's important to step away from your day to day so that you can and come back refreshed and ready.

    So, there you have it, Podsters! Three steps to help you get back on track when you're just not feeling it.

    Remember, it's okay to have off days. Give yourself some grace, lean into that feeling and use these tips to stay focused and also stay true to yourself.

    What's up, Podsters? Today, we’re peeling back the curtain TRUE self-confidence. I mean REALLY honoring your decisions, trusting your instincts and the difference between boundaries and simple decisions. In fact, we are adopting a powerful mantra for the week…are you ready?

    "You don't get to decide how I react to you."

    Partially inspired by recent conversations Samantha Parker and upcoming chat with Tiffany Carter, (spoiler alert… both confident and highly successful business women), I’m shining a light on how freeing it can be to not let others dictate our reactions OR undermine our decisions.

    Pretty powerful.

    Confidence grows with experience and true confidence is achieved when care less about other people’s opinions and more about our own values and decisions. It's about viewing external opinions as simply data points. For example, when someone thinks poorly of you, this is just a fact, not a real reflection of your worth. Or who you are.

    Now, let’s talk about the magic phrase: ** "I'm comfortable with my decisions."**

    These five words, when you truly believe them – help you to stand in the power of your decisions and your choices. This phrase will end ANY additional criticism, unsolicited opinions or debates and will instantly reaffirm your commitment to who you are. Remember – YOU get to decide how you react to what others are projecting, saying, how they are behaving and what they are doing.

    Standing firm in your decisions and not allowing others to derail your own path is game changing.

    I’d love to hear you practice saying "I'm comfortable with my decisions," and then notice the shift in your interactions.

    It’s time to bet on yourself, Podsters. To truly stand in your confidence and stay firm in your decisions. And remember, you get to control how you react.

    Today, I’m shining a light on a topic that has been coming up in many conversations with my clients but rarely discussed: SELF-SABOTAGE.

    Whether it’s in your career, business, health, happiness, or relationships, self-sabotaging behaviors can quietly undermine your success and negatively impact your well-being.

    At work, these behaviors might include procrastination on important projects, perfectionism that prevents you from finishing tasks, avoiding opportunities to network, or downplaying your accomplishments to avoid standing out.

    Self-sabotage doesn’t just affect your career it can also wreak havoc on your personal relationships. Let’s talk about how behaviors like pushing people away, avoiding vulnerability, and fearing intimacy can prevent you from forming deep, meaningful connections.

    You might find yourself picking fights over minor issues, constantly questioning your partner's loyalty, or feeling undeserving of love and affection. These patterns can make it difficult to build and maintain healthy, fulfilling relationships.

    Your health is another area where self-sabotage can strike. This might be you engaging in unhealthy habits like skipping workouts, overeating, neglecting self-care, or relying on substances to cope with stress. These behaviors often stem from a lack of self-worth or a fear of change, and protecting this persona of who you think you are. Recognizing these patterns is the first step toward developing healthier behaviors that nourish your body and mind.

    Here’s the thing, Podsters. We all do it, and we call can stop.

    You can change this behavior by recognizing these patterns and allowing yourself some grace; and today I’m giving you specifics on how you can stop the self-sabotage.

    From procrastination and perfectionism to negative self-talk and avoidance, we dive into the various forms self-sabotage and provide real life examples, tactical tools and to help you check yourself before your wreck yourself.

    We’ve been talking for the past couple of weeks about how you can have your summer fun while also leveling up your life. And we’ll continue to talk about how you can take now so you're ready by the end of summer. We’ve already talked about why you shouldn't wait, and last week, Miranda showed us how to level up our LinkedIn.

    Today, let's talk about networking without feeling gross and how summer is the best time to network. I'll give you a boatload of tools and refer you to past episodes on leveling up your network and networking without sleaze.

    Remember, networking is simply talking to people. You do not have to go to a BBQ or a pool party or the beach thinking about your next client or who you can meet. That’s stressful and we don’t do that over here. Instead, think today we talk about how to respond or start a conversation effortlessly and authentically.

    And – the secret sauce to these summer conversations? FOLLOW UP.

    You must follow up within 72 hours of meeting someone. This is the difference between thriving at work and sitting around hoping for divine intervention to make the change.

  • It’s June, Podsters and who else is here for summer? I am so here for summer. As you know, my summer word is “barefoot” and I’m coming in with a PSA for you…

    Every year, I have the same conversation in the spring or early summer. People want to make a move, they want to DO THE THING and the they say, "Let's circle back at the end of the summer." They want to enjoy their summer.

    I get it, I do. I love summer as much as you do, and if you’re in a toxic work environment, or you want to make THE BIG CHANGE, taking a break from thinking about it is a bad idea.

    If you're in a job or running a business that doesn’t feel good, you have got to take action, NOW.

    Here's why.

    When you take that break, summer becomes fall, and then it's back to school, busy budgets, travel, and trade shows. Then comes Thanksgiving, the holidays, and you wake up six months later still in that miserable job.

    You have to make a change before it changes you.

    The three lies I hear us going back to the most are:

    · "Summer is not a good time to focus"

    · "Summer is not a good for me to network"

    · "No one’s hiring in the summer."

    None of these are true.

  • Today, I’m here to close the loop on something I’ve promised to discuss. For those of you who have been following along, you know I’ve been going through some stuff lately, and I said I’d come back to talk about it. So here I am, ready to share why it’s okay not to be okay and why we need to normalize it.

    When I was going through my rough patch, it was shocking how often people would ask how I was doing, and I’d automatically respond with, “I’m great, how are you?” even when I wasn’t. It felt so inauthentic, and that’s why I think we need to talk about it, not as a Debbie Downer, but to be honest and authentic and create genuine connections. It’s essential to recognize that it’s okay not to be okay.

    We all need help at some point, yet we often say we’re fine when we’re not.

    Over the past 12 weeks, I kept telling people I was fine when I wasn’t, and it felt like a narrator in my head said, “She was not indeed fine.” every time I said those words, “I’m okay”.

    No one wants to dump their problems on a casual acquaintance, but with close ones, we should be truthful. It’s important to admit when we’re struggling, both to ourselves and to our loved ones.

    By pretending to be okay, we miss opportunities for genuine connection and support. When we say we’re fine when we’re not, we shame ourselves unnecessarily.

    I learned that lesson the hard way, feeling like I had always to be great. I wasn’t being authentic, and it took a toll on me. It’s essential to be honest and seek help when needed.

    Podsters, let’s normalize not being okay. If someone asks how you are, be honest. You don’t have to explain everything, but you can say, “I’ve been better.” Let’s be real with ourselves and each other. It’s okay not to be okay; acknowledging that is a step towards healing.
