What a way to end the season! This week the lads catch up with the head elf from the BBC's brilliant QI TV show, James Harkin. Here is a man who brings the trivia in a ridiculously impressive way. He's got facts and he knows how to use them. In tribute to some of their worst jokes on the podcast so far part 1 contains an explanation of the Tumbleweed plant.

Why would you travel to the other side of the world to play football in a rainy toad habitat? This is what Paul Watson, journalist, author and football enthusiast, found himself having to answer when he ended up in Pohnpei, a Micronesian island, with the mission to bring them the joy of football. Itâs a story that involves calling on the Mormons, trying to win just one game of football and ending up in a bank in London with a suitcase full of money! There is so much to Paulâs story that we will have to do a second episode soon!

Menswear writer Derek Guy joins the lads on this weekâs episode to explain why a monarch across the water might just have effected what you wear.
Can his tips ensure the Neil and Dave are invited to the next Met Gala? One can only hope.
Part 1 sees Neilâs travel tips help Dave find restful holiday destinations. He needs them. Heâs very busy. Heâs mainly busy telling us how busy he is, but heâs busy nonetheless.

The fact that sharks have no bones is mind blowing. The fact that this fact is merely one of about 20 mind-blowing shark facts on this weekâs podcast is even more mind blowing! All of these facts (and something terrible about shark reproduction!) are brought to us by the amazing Jaida Elcock, Shark Scientist, PhD student and co-founder of Minorities In Shark Sciences. As if that wasnât enough, you wonât believe how scared of your cat you should be!

Ohh this one is a cracker. Professor of Biochemistry Luke OâNeill walks the lads through the history of the brain. He covers everything from electrocuting dead frogs to accidentally firing a rod through your noggin and all the discoveries these events led to.
He also casually drops in which philosopher had the brilliantly named âexploding head syndromeâ.

This week the lads are joined by the magnificent Dr. Kit Chapman to explain the weird and wonderful ways animals were used during WW2.
In part 1 Neil walks Dave through the story of the Texan town that changed its name to get free TV. But both of these amazing stories frankly
pale in comparison to the Dave's violent attack on Neil's choice of chocolate bar.
You can decide who's right on this one.

In this weekâs episode, we are in the world of noises. Certain noises can be so annoying that some people feel the need to harm the noise maker! Maybe, though, itâs not your fault. Maybe you suffer from something called Misophonia. Author of âSounds Like Misophoniaâ, Dr. Jane Gregory takes us through everything there is to know about Misophonia, including her own emerging research. We also learn how useless Dave is at being a strong protective man.
As for the elephant in the waistcoat, youâll just have to listen to discover what thatâs all about!

This week the lads are joined by historian and comedian (not necessarily in that order) Dr Ciaran Barlett to talk about Roman triumphs. Not every podcast covering history will cover which historian was, as Ciaran puts it, âa rat bastardâ but this one does.
And to get us warmed up for all things Roman, Neil explains to Dave which man of the ancient world was the highest paid athlete of all time. Throw in some the listenersâ amazing reviews and boom youâve got yourselves a podcast baby.

And just like that, weâre back! Season 6 is here!
Kicking things off with a very WWYTMT?! subject is Daveâs episode on Dan Donnellyâs Arm! History nut, Jane Casey, tells the phenomenal tale of Dan Donnelly, a Dublin man who made a name for himself first in the capital and then the country when he âbeat the Englishâ! A remarkable fellow whose life only got more interesting after he died! How did his right arm become detached from his body? Why was it in a circus? And how did it end up in a pub in Meath? All these questions answered in the first episode of the new season!

Well this episode does exactly what is says on the tin.
Financial Times journalist and bona fide Italian Marianna Giusti enlightens the lads about how many of the seemingly set-in-stone and ancient culinary traditions of Italy are very recent inventions. They learn about âgastro-nationalismâ and as if thatâs not enough, they find out which US president actually physically cleaned up after a nuclear accident.

In this weekâs episode, we learn about the man who went from slave to senator in the fledgling, revolutionary United States. Author Cate Linnebery joins the lads to explore the incredible life of Robert Smalls. Also, Dave unleashes all the facts he didnât manage to include in the rest of the episodes of Season 5. What are older, sharks or the rings of Saturn? What animal eats the most moose? It ainât what you think! Dave also shouts at us all as he shows why he would be the worst self-help guru ever!

Itâs a dog-eat-dog world, right? The alpha male of a pack uses aggression and dominance to stay as the leader of the pack? Well not so much. The lads are joined by Kira Cassidy an associate research scientist with the National Park Service research program in Yellowstone to bust some lupine myths and explain who is the most important member of the wolf pack. It is definitely not who you think.

Have you ever borrowed a car to nip off for a few hours? Well, that's what Bertha Benz did except it was the only car in the world and nobody had ever nipped anywhere in one before! Ever! She was the wife of Carl Benz of Mercedes Benz fame, sure, but she was so much more. An investor, a businesswoman, a pioneer and the inventor of the roadtrip! Everything about this story is wild and comic, scientist and musical theatre writer, Helen Arney, is here to tell us all about Bertha.
In addition, we'll learn so much about streets, road, avenues, parkways and intersections that our brains will look like spaghetti junctions! Plus, we'll all laugh at rude things because rude things are fanny, sorry, funny! See, you're laughing now.

This week we meet David Gluckman, the man (amongst others) who invented everyoneâs favourite Christmas tipple, Baileys. He must be Irish, right? Wrong. Well, he must be a food scientist? Wrong. Surely itâs his biggest impact of Irish exports? Wrong.
To put you in the mood for such deliciousness Neil drops some food facts in part 1.

We finally have the episode when Dave says "Time is a just a construct". That may well be the case, but you still have to have major cajones to want to change the entire calendar. Enter badboy of Europe, France. This week the lads meet Dr Matthew Shaw from Queen's College Library, Oxford University who talks them through the plan to get rid of Sundays, decimalize time and rename every day of the year.

In this episode, Dave has uncovered an incredible tale of age-defying physical prowess and downright stubbornness! Meet Gustaf HĂ„kansson, an elderly Swedish gentleman who cycled the length of Sweden. Twice. To prove a point. Sarah Mulkerrins, a sports journalist, who has worked with every broadcaster around, drops by to tell this incredible tale. As if that wasnât enough, we also learn about more of Swedenâs most talented people, including the guy who has written almost as many Number 1s as Lennon and McCartney!

The internetâs version of Liam Neeson, Jose Monkey joins the lads to explain how just how easy it is to figure out where you shot that video you posted.
Jose has amassed 1.4 million followers online by establishing the locations of videos that people send him- the phrase âFind me Jose Monkeyâ is fast becoming internet lore.
He explains just how he does what he does

Itâs SEASON FIVE! We are so grateful so many of you listen to us and we canât believe weâre back for a fifth season!
Dave is really easing us into this one with a simple question: whatâs the worst pain the natural world has to offer?
In this episode, we meet Mark Vins, the CEO of one of YouTubeâs most successful channels, Brave Wilderness. Mark and his friend, Coyote Peterson, have spent their days getting stung, bitten and finding out the worst pain humans can stand so that we donât have to! Thanks, lads!
We also learn some startling facts and figures surrounding YouTube, including how many years it would take you to watch everything thatâs ever been uploaded! Itâs a very long time but not as long as Neil guesses cos heâs figured out a way to ruin Daveâs day and this means that normal service has resumed for Season 5!
