Today’s episode is a special solo episode! I just did my first silent retreat. I went to the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky for a silent retreat. I was there from Monday to Thursday. During that time, I had 3 conversations. One with a monk for spiritual direction. The other 2 were with a guy from my church. The rest of the time, I was silent. I was nervous going into it. I’m an extrovert. I love to talk to people. I’m also addicted to email and social media. Yet, I unplugged. It was hard at first. Then it got easier. Then it got to the point I was scared to turn it all back on! Ha! There are tons of learnings I learned, and I am excited to share my experience with you.
In this episode, you’ll discover…
Why did Cory do a silent retreat? (2:04)
How was Cory able to do the retreat? (5:02)
Set yourself up for success during the retreat. (9:08)
What questions did Cory ask? (11:09)
What did Cory hear? (17:00)

Are you afraid of your own success? Comfort is just another word for fear. We are aware of what things frighten us, our headtrash holds us back. It can stop us from being our best selves. It's easier to live in the shadows, it's easier to not put effort into what we have to live up to. But god created us to be great. He equipped us to be successful, yet we naturally want to stay in the background because living up to that potential is intimidating. This episode with Robert Hunt is full of nuggets like this one, I hope you enjoy.
In this episode, you’ll discover…
What is the key trait to winning at work and at home? (1:08)

Color outside the lines… What does that mean to you? Sometimes, as leaders, we tend to do things ‘just so.’ We may not want to go with the flow or experiment with new ideas. Today's guest talks about the importance of being okay with iterations of yourself and situations. This may come with not “looking ahead,” which goes against the grain for a lot of us. The reason why Will decides to not look ahead may surprise you.
In this episode, you’ll discover…
What is the key trait to winning at work and at home? (1:45)
The 3 I’s: Introspection, Iterations, and Influence. (5:03)
Systems acronym (10:11)

The Blueprint for a Successful Career, Will’s first book, was released in 2017 to widespread acclaim and has been added to the curriculum at six nationally accredited universities. He began speaking in 2017 and has since delivered over 250 keynotes, inspiring over 50,000 people across multigenerational workplaces in both the public and private sector.
Will is considered to be the undisputed authority in personal branding, body language and soft skills leadership, resulting in a 98.13% approval rating across all his speeches.

Who are YOU? What is it that you want for your family throughout the different seasons? These questions are what my conversation with today's guest Jeremy Pryor revolved around. Not knowing who we are, or our core values can cause uncertainty for our families as a whole. When we don’t date our spouse, it creates a level of insecurity for our kids. We discuss instilling a good value system from the very beginning, as well as how listeners who are already in the middle of their journey can regain control of this.
In this episode, you’ll discover…
What is the key trait to winning at work and at home? (1:18)
Children see your relationship with your spouse. (5:17)
The temptation to put other things ahead of your family (8:30)
Kids in your business. (16:54)
Jeremy’s Bio:
The success of many organizations rests on their ability to create epiphanies in the minds of their audiences. Helping create those aha moments is why me and my friends founded Epipheo (epiphany + video) a video production agency based in Cincinnati, OH. When I'm not pondering the future of digital video you might find me coaching young dads, trying to study the Old Testament in Hebrew or reading obscure passages by J.R.R. Tolkien to my patient wife and five kids.

I soon realized that public accounting was boring, so I took a chance, and got back involved with my startup, University Tees (www.utees.com), and haven't looked back since. In this episode, you’ll discover…
What is the key trait to winning at work and at home? (1:16)

“I gave up on the idea of being able to win at work, and at home.” Have you ever felt this way? Today’s guest Phil Nicaud gets real and vulnerable about his struggle to find the balance. It’s not easy for anyone, especially leaders, to find a happy medium in these situations. We may rationalize that we are working hard now, to set our families up for the future. Sacrifice the now, for the later results. However, we only have 18 summers with our kids. We have to maintain our relationships with our spouses during all of this. I hope you find encouragement in today’s episode.
