Bronwyn Kuss is an award winning comedian who is about to go to Edinburgh Fringe Festival to probably win more awards. Before this sparkly life, she worked in an Ipswich prison with what seems like her entire extended family. Bronwyn tells us about the bloke she worked with who broke an unbeatable chair for a whiff of workerâs comp, and all the innovative women who snuck contraband up their fudgas for their stint behind bars. This woman has seen it all, and we absolutely LOVED this recording. Enjoy this episode of âWork Hatesâ.

Sam Taunton is a TV presenter, comedian, and Australiaâs goodest boy. He grew up in country NSW, where his dreams to make a career out of golfing never eventuated, because he didnât make the sacred declaration to turn pro (or something like that). During the first few years of his comedy career, he worked part time at golf courses where he cleaned golf clubs for the small fee of being asked, âWait, arenât you that guy?â We love Taunts, but everyone loves Taunts. Enjoy this episode of âWork Hatesâ!

Zoe Coombs-Marr is one of Australiaâs most adored comedians, but before she was as comedian, she was the worldâs worst barista, a bar wench at a 24 hour bar, and an actor. Her time in the pub had her cleaning more vomit than humanly possible, and her time as an actor provided us with a story that had us almost vomiting. Yes, this story was all levels of cringe, and we loved it so much. This was a really fun to record, and we hope you love it! Enjoy this episode of âWork Hatesâ!

Doug Chappel is a pillar of the Melbourne comedy scene, a father of two kids, and a qualified psychologist. Before all of this though, he was best known as the prince of the Western suburbs who wore more gold jewelry than Liza Minnelli and chose to go to the movies rather than turning up for his shift. Dougâs instagram is littered with him travelling on flights in business class, which is much better than him travelling in his bossâ sports car. That never ends well, trust us. We love this kind hearted beast, and you will too. Enjoy this episode of âWork Hatesâ!

Well, well, well, if it isnât one of the greatest comedians that has ever existed ON OUR PODCAST! Dave OâNeil is famous for his stand-up comedy, radio antics and acting skills, but none of us knew he could dig. Dave shares with us his more labour intensive job, and how he left his mate Jeffery there forever. We hope Jeffery is alive and well, but from the sounds of those working conditions, he almost certainly is not. Dave generously illustrates one of the worst comedy gigs heâs ever done in his 87 years of comedy, and how he refused to let that audience beat him. Heâs a living legend, and we loved recording this. Enjoy this episode of âWork Hatesâ!

Australian comedy darling, Josh Earl has dipped his toe into many jobs during his lifetime, from check-out chick, to school librarian, to musical comedian. Whilst all jobs have had moments of humiliation, Joshâs MacGyver instincts including creaming soda and urine provided more questions than answers. His epic comedy bomb involving a mop bucket and a song about homophobia is worth an entire episode alone. Everyone loves Josh Earl, and we know everyone will love what he has to offer the pod. Please enjoy this episode of âWork Hatesâ!

Australian comedy royalty popped in to explain why he gave up a promising career in journalism for a career in comedy. Obviously it worked out perfectly for him, but it hasnât always been smooth sailing. He details his worst ever heckle, and his least favourite moment closing out a corporate event, which was extremely cringey. We were honoured to have the great man on the pod, so please, enjoy this episode of âWork Hatesâ!

Award winning cabaret star, singer and comedian, Reuben Kaye joined us on the pod to explain where he was before he blew the Australian comedy industry to bits. His original answer was âLondonâ, but as we delved a bit deeper, the real answer we wanted was way less cool. Reuben worked in shitty hospitality jobs where we watched a man make salmon patties in a sink he spat in, and then he climbed the ranks of a company that celebrates bandanas. It was a wild ride. Canadian comedian, John Hastings hasnât always been a world class standup. He used to work in radio where he wrote the jokes for a volatile trio who made his life a living hell. He does, however, state that the weirdest job he has ever had is standup, and he offers our listeners a deep insight into the industry we know and love/hate. Go on, get stuck in, and enjoy this episode of Work Hates!

Danielle Walker is a hugely successful standup comedian, voiceover and actor, but before showbiz, she worked some less than glamorous jobs. Her worst being the job we all would have killed for as teenagers - Sanity. She was the nationâs champion CD cleaner salesperson, and her psycho boss rewarded her with a flicker of violence. Danielle names and shames her bullies, which is a bloody wonderful warning to maggot bosses out there that their victims might become world famous and out them on the biggest podcast that ever existed. Enjoy this episode of Work Hates!

New Zealandâs very own Chris Parker is an award winning comedian, director, author and silk jacket wearer. Whilst it seems like he can do no wrong, he joined us on the pod to share some previous work experiences where he wasnât exactly kicking goals. From a shopping centre Santa, to a loaded-wedges thief, Chris has really seen some dark places. We loved this episode of Work Hates, and we know youâll love it too!

We have gone international! Larry is a Scottish comedy icon, and he joined us to explain that before he was a superstar, he was a pizza delivery man who sold beer to teenagers, was sexually assaulted (for a price) and was relentlessly bullied by his colleagues. Bron learnt a lot in this episode, including how most men think they need to punch each other more as a way of creating boundaries, which she still isnât sold on. Bretty and Larry decided they would bash heaps of people together, which is not where we thought this episode would go, but then again, this podcasts is always full of surprises. Enjoy this very violent episode of Work Hates (or Larry and Brett with bash you)!

Sashi Perera is an immigration lawyer turned comedian who burst into fame through her hilarious online content. She is currently selling out giant theatres around the world with her stand-up solo, but before this incredible success, she was defending refugeesâ rights to stay in the country, all the while being mistaken for a refugee herself. This is a woman who has been underestimated a number of times, and boy oh boy, did she prove them all wrong! Enjoy this episode of Work Hates!

Nick Cody is a famous radio and television presenter, an internationally recognised comedian, a father of two boys and a failed office temp. We thought Nick was born successful considering how impressive his accolades are at such a young age, but it was beautiful for us to learn that once he got so munted at work, his dad had to pick him up leading to him spewing out of the car window and his mum had to hose him down. Poetry.
If you like to listen to a great man explain that he is actually a degenerate deep down, this is the one for you! Enjoy this episode of Work Hates!

Bev is one of the most beloved comedians in the country, but even more than that, she is the loosest. She has a stage presence that demands everyoneâs attention, and a very disobedient bladder. We loved learning about Bevâs upbringing, her journey into comedy as a single mum, as well as the many jobs she has had, including bullying UFC champion Alexander Volkanovski, and telling her manager to âfu** offâ. You wonât find a laugh louder than this, and we dare you not to love this episode of Bev Killick.

Damo is an impressive man - he has been nominated three times for the Most Outstanding Show at MICF, and he is widely known as one of the best comedians in the country. However, Damo hasnât always been kicking goals. He was the second (or was it third?) best break dancer in his family and he was often mocked for breakdancing on the revolting dance floor in the Toowoomba nightclub. Whether this built his resilience, or chipped away at his psyche is hard to know. From working in a tent shop, to an IT company, Damoâs employment history is rich, and really, really funny. There arenât many awards comedian Lizzy Hoo hasnât been won, or at least been nominated for. And in his episode of Work Hates, we learn there arenât many jobs she has turned down. From being the spew cleaner at Brisbaneâs infamous pub, The Caxton, to mowing huge fields of grass in Japan in the blistering heat. Lizzy is a hard worker, and she does it all with an infectious smile, which makes her even more perfect than we already thought she was. Have a listen to this superstar, and we dare you to try and not love her. Enjoy this episode of Work Hates!

This week on Work Hates, we changed it up a bit, and instead of a lowly comedian (WE CAN SAY THAT, YOU CANâT), we are joined by a human rights lawyer and gigantic legend, Claire Marshall. Claire is Bronâs high school friend, and she has trumped Bron in every aspect of life, except when it comes to volume of kids.
Before Claire was a high flying boss lady saving the world, she was a nanny to a filthy rich family that had a house filled with dead animals.
If it sounds gross, thatâs because it is a bit. But itâs great, because Claire is great.
Enjoy this episode of Work Hates, and if you donât, Claire will sue you (we made that up, we donât think sheâs that kind of lawyer).

This week on Work Hates, weâre joined by one of Australiaâs most promising young comedians Lewis Garnham. The episode starts with Bretty listing Lewisâ accolades, including having a âhot girlfriendâ, which was a bit on the nose for Bron. Lewis handled this hiccup the same was he handled being fired by his supermarket job: calmly. Heâs had a long list of jobs including a disability support worker a teacherâs aide and a stoner pizza boy. Lewis is a true delight, and we loved loved loved recording this one. Enjoy this episode of Work Hates.

This week we are joined by one of New Zealandâs fasting rising stars, and one of Australiaâs favourite comedians, Ray OâLeary. Ray hasnât always been a comedian, he used to work in corrections, heâs had one of the most pointless jobs in the world, and he even tried his hand as a wizard or philosopher or something like that. Brett had very little in common with Ray, so he shared a story about his pop and a whale. Itâs a great episode. Enjoy this week of Work Hates!
