  • Vivian Tu wants to change our relationship with finances forever, and her story is incredible. Vivian is a first-generation Asian American, who grafted her way to Wall Street, facing misogyny and racism on her way. She spent years on the trading floors, making the kind of money she always dreamed of, in an environment where she was one of only two women on her team. When she left finance & moved into a strategy role, she noticed she was always the go-to person for money-making questions, tax returns, investing, pensions. Becoming increasingly worried by the amount of dodgy information regarding finance online, she started making her own educational content under the handle ā€˜Your Rich BFFā€™. Now, she has over 6 million followers and a best-selling book to her name. She says her aim is to teach everyone the ā€œlessons that rich dads have been teaching their rich sons on the golf course." I canā€™t wait to speak to Vivian about her story.

  • When I started the podcast I wanted it to be all about life improvement from every angle, not just the ones we're all taught about.

We've put so much effort into improving the guest episodes this year, but if I'm totally honest I felt the solo episodes needed re-vamping to make them the most useful resource possible. I LOVE explainer podcasts on everything from history to celebrity scandals. So we're trialling a new 15-minute explainer format. Iā€™ve given myself an excuse to spend hours researching the topics I wish I knew more about so you donā€™t need to read a whole book to understand something important.

So I've started with one of the most important things I've researched over the last few years: habit theory and why everyone on Instagram says it changed their life (including me).

The episode is only 15 minutes long, so perfect for your morning hot girl walk! Let me know what you think!

  • Emily English is a nutritionist on a mission - sheā€™s a qualified nutritionist with a BSC from Kings College London, and she now has over a million followers who love her easy & healthy recipes, and simple explanations.

Emily is a glowy picture of health, but it wasnā€™t until her relationship with food suffered that she decided to explore our relationship with food as a whole.

I canā€™t thank Emily enough for sharing her story and being so open about the struggles sheā€™s faced to get to where she is now. I really quizzed her in this episode about the fundamentals of diet & nutrition, thereā€™s so much actionable advice in this one. I hope you enjoy it!

  • Itā€™s safe to say that Aimee Smale has had a whirlwind few years. Aged just 21 she left her job at Asos to found Odd Muse, a fashion brand known for tailoring and sleek silhouettes. She openly admits she had no experience running a business, yet within her first three months, sheā€™d made over Ā£100,000 after her designs captured huge audiences online.

Now, Odd Muse is going from strength to strength, opening their first permanent store in London this year. I canā€™t wait for you to hear Aimeeā€™s story. If youā€™re sitting in a full-time job and youā€™ve ever wanted to set up your own venture - this episode is for you.

  • Dr Helen Oā€™Neill is a leading expert in reproductive science, sheā€™s a lecturer in reproductive and molecular genetics at University College London, she has a Masters in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine and a PhD in Stem Cell Biology. She is also the founder and CEO of Hertility Health, an award-winning bio-tech business specialising in fertility testing that has raised over Ā£5 million since launch.

Fertility is obviously a hugely sensitive topic, but itā€™s also one that we never talk about for exactly that reason. When I started this podcast, I wanted it to cover the important topics that we never get taught, and I learnt so so much from Helen that I really couldnā€™t believe I havenā€™t researched or known before. If youā€™re thinking about switching off right now because you find the idea of fertility testing terrifying like I do, I promise you itā€™s worth sticking it out and listening to this one. However, if you are someone who is currently struggling to conceive, or finds fertility conversations particularly hard, this is an episode to skip.

  • Professor Steve Peters has more Olympic medals and world championships to his name than you can count, with accolades in sports from athletics to football, cycling and snooker. But hereā€™s the catch, he hasnā€™t ever played these sports professionally. Instead, heā€™s the ā€˜brain mechanicā€™ behind the worldā€™s most successful teams and individuals, from England Football to British Cycling. In fact, Snooker World Champion Ronnie Oā€™Sullivan credits Peters with his success.

  • It is an understatement to say that John Amaechi has had a career that has taken him places.

Not only is he an Organisational Psychologist, an OBE, a New York Times Bestselling Author, a Fellow of the Institute of Science and Technology, a Professor of Leadership, a non-executive director of an FTSE 250 company and the founder of organisational psychology consultancy APS.

He was also, more surprisingly, the first Briton to play professional basketball in the NBA league, a move which saw him leave his hometown of Stockport for the world of professional basketball aged just 18. And whilst playing, he was the first NBA player to come out as gay. Never afraid to stand up and speak out, his book made me question a lot of things I thought I knew about myself and the way I live and work.

Amaechi has spent years studying the worldā€™s highest performers, in both the sporting and corporate world, and Iā€™m so looking forward to everyone hearing his amazing techniques. I learnt so much in this chat and Iā€™m sure you will too. I'd be so grateful if you could rate the podcast five stars.

I knew Alice Liveing's story was one full of twists and turns, but I did not expect to have such a frank conversation about the power we give 'social media stars' and the impact of toxic trends not just on viewers, but on the individuals perpetuating those trends.

This episode is about Alice's journey to balance, but it's also about the warped reality of social media, and why we shouldn't be too harsh on ourselves about our past actions, something we all need a reminder of every so often.

I hope you enjoy listening! I'd be so grateful if you could rate the podcast five stars.

Laura Jackson is a founder, a TV presenter, a side hustler and a mother of three. So today's episode is all about balance, the 'working mother paradox', and finding joy in the chaos. • Ben Gallagher has built a multi-million-pound fashion business at the age of 23. You might not have heard of his name, but if youā€™re on TikTok, I can guarantee youā€™ll have seen his encyclopaedic videos on the fashion industry.

Growing up in Formby near Liverpool, Ben recounts how he always wanted to keep up with his friends who had the latest designer pieces, but he couldnā€™t afford them. After seeing the discounts on pre-loved items, he and his brother started a consignment shop in Liverpool.

Now, just 5 years later, Luxe Collective turns over millions each year and has just received investment from Steven Bartlett after they came out on top on Dragonā€™s Den. Last year they gained over 950k followers on Luxe Collective's social platforms, and I'm so grateful to Ben for sharing the secrets of their strategy.

  • Today's episode of Working Hard, Hardly Working is one of our most highly requested solo episodes: it's all about how to be a better manager.

Management truly is one of the most important skills to have in the workplace, but most of us are never taught how to do it.

I find it so strange that it's one of those skills we're expected to just 'pick up' even though it's not a skill the majority of people specialise in when entering their careers, and it often doesn't come as second nature (it certainly didn't to me!). Plus, it's categorically the most important skill for career progression.

I hope you find this episode helpful and enjoy listening!

Jason Fox spent 20 years in the special forces, carrying out perilous missions in the most remote & harsh environments. But it's when he left the military after being diagnosed with PTSD that his story really took a turn. This was such a fascinating conversation, and I can't thank Jason enough for being so vulnerable. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it.
