Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future.
This week we are joined by the charming and effervescent Anthony Oliveira, writer of Avengers Academy (Lodro's fav comic right now). We explore the massive question, "What does it mean to want to be good?" as we talk through everything Avengers Academy where Anthony proves that he is a wizard for making Lodro care about characters like Norman Osborn.
But enough about this incredible book, let's talk X-Men. Anthony was born in the month coinciding with Uncanny X-Men 183 where Colossus breaks up with 14 year-old Kitty Pryde and boy are the X-Men pissed about it. Then Colossus spills a beer on the Juggernaut who was about to go home with Selene and now he's pissed at Colossus too.
Also in this episode:
Cyttorak is a drama queen
Emplate is a gay S&M bondage vampire
Anthony was obsessed with the X-Men villain pronounced A Poke Uh Lips
Lodro thinks Angel is still dating Husk

Xavier cuts the Juggernaut out of all family photos
Juggernaut knows his color blocking
...and Anthony gets his X-Men tarot reading! What does any of this mean for his future? Tune in to find out!

Their favorite comics and cosplays are, of course, the X-Men, with Mystique being their favorite character to portray. They only throw blue babies over waterfalls on weekends, pinky promise.

Long time friend of our host Matthew Bonaccorso joins us to talk DRACULA!
The X-Men have fought aliens, had friends turn into giant space birds and live in a world where telepaths are on every block but balk at the possibility that Storm could possibly be hanging out with a vampire. But guess what? She got turnt!
Yes, Matt's birthday corresponds to Storm falling under the sway of Dracula himself.
Also in this issue:
most of our listeners have probably imagined Wolverine in their bedroom
if you were going to send one trade paperback to convince someone to like the X-Men, what it would it be?
Kitty has to go run some errands
Kitty buys a hat to kill Dracula
Dracula is wearing the puffy shirt from Seinfeld
Matt doesnât know how to pronounce jaunt
Nightcrawler almost beats Dracula by holding up two sticks
Dracula has a party bus coffin
At the end of the day, the best way to defeat Dracula is, apparently, to gain his respect. What does any of this mean for Matt's future? Tune in to find out!
Matt Bonaccorso is a seasoned product innovator. Heâs spent nearly two decades blending creativity and technology. Heâs worked on everything from smart toys to digital products for the world's largest entertainment companies like Nickelodeon and Discovery Channel, and heâs the mind behind Corbit the Robotâa smart, AI-powered companion that entertained kids and parents alike. Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future.
Returning guest Cassie Lilly comes home to X-Men Horoscopes for an episode where we map X-Men 57 onto its historical counterpart in 1969...we're covering the Stonewall Riots!
Yes - this is another "What does X-Men say about US?" episode, or at least the queer and queer-adjacent us. With that in mind, we also cover:
why Iceman is Cleopatra
the Sentinels...LIVE (for Polaris' outfit)
Havok is a walking talking disaster and Lorna Dane, half a world away, falls in love
Havok has to come out as a mutant and wonders if anyone has ever felt so alone
Lodro manages the X-Men's finances
"Men believe what they want to believe Bobby"
Tune in because this episode...is going to be a riot!
Jokes aside, this is when mutants in the Marvel Universe are starting to be persecuted and hunted simply for being mutants. We're witnessing the birth of mutant as metaphor in today's issue and it's message is a powerful one about how, when we stand together, we prevail. When we isolate, well, that's when the Sentinels will get ya.
Bonus: we have a back up story called "The Female of the Species" which...is not great for feminism. "Cleaning the house is a breeze when you have telekinesis!" - Jean Grey ten years before becoming a cosmic entity
Cassie Lilly is a truly creative person, having trained as an actress, most notably at the celebrated National Youth Theatre of London, who has also successfully dabbled in modeling and voiceover work before settling into her skills as a writer, with her first article published in 2021 detailing her perspective as a transgender girl in the modern world.
She is an activist at heart, a champion for LGBTQ rights and the fight against racism, lending her voice as an educational public speaker, shedding light on the history and facts surrounding the culture war on trans people. As an avid comic book reader from an early age, Cassie is considered a âgo-toâ girl when it comes to comics. This lends perfectly to her super fun content coverage as a bubbly Tiktoker and across social media, diving into nerd culture, comic book characters, history and lore! You can join the discussion with @who.cassie across all social media!

On this week's episode we are joined by Chad Anderson of the x-cellent x-podcast Graymalkin Lane.Chad offers up his encyclopedic knowledge as we dive into the 1960s, looking at when the mutant metaphor began and when Beast started really hating humans. Also in this issue:
Banshee has never looked hotter
Also, no one knows who you are Banshee stop asking
Lodro is going to hatch a rom com situation to make Ann Nocenti his cool aunt
Wolverines can run really fast
There sure is a lot of Cyclops blasting all over Wolverine's face in this issue
Also, Cyclops and Banshee tag team Sauron
Colossus has a son we will never speak of
- Sauron is bad at break ups
Zaladane dresses like a chicken drag queen
Ka Zar keeps butting in to tell people he also has adventures
All this plus why Boom Boom would be a great president! Boom Boom 2028! She has my vote. What does any of this mean for Chad's future (and - BONUS - our society's)? Tune in to find out!

Comics legend Marjorie Liu joins our host Lodro Rinzler to discuss an incredibly fun and disturbing issue of X-Men!
Before we sell you on all the hilarity, let's get real for a moment: Marjorie Liu is not just an extraordinary comic writer, she's also just a lovely, grounded, kind human being. It was an honor to have her on the show. Okay, now on to the silliness.
In this episode we discuss how Marjorie writes from the gut and, in her words, her gut is really weird. Also, how she went through a cathartic experience writing X-23 (now Wolverine).
Topics include:
teenage Marjorie wrote X-Men fanfic
in the Marvel Universe, a hat and trenchcoat is more than sufficient to disguise a six foot, blue, furry man
Charles Xavier sends postcards from space
Mesmero is a bag of dicks
Also Mesmero read a Playboy once and thinks that's how people should always pose
the Phoenix force has limits on how badly you can mess up Jean Grey

The excellent meme-game discussed in this episode can be found here.

Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future.
Joining us this week is long-time friend of our host/medical professional/voodoo practitioner and guide Marina Acosta to discuss a very BDSM Morlock wedding.
Angel has been kidnapped and is destined to marry Callisto, leader of the Morlocks...unless the X-Men can come in at that point where an officiant goes "Does anyone object?" and save the day that way.
Also in this issue:
American voodoo traditions- Marina is kinda on the Morlocks' side and also sort of confused by how comics work
Cyclops is upset about Madelyne Pryor looking exactly like his dead ex girlfriend...but gets over it in one minute flat
the X-Men consistently forget that the Morlocks exist the moment they are out of sight
Nightcrawler has a beautifully symmetrical face
What do Cyclops and Caliban have in common (they both have been worn as sweaters except for Cyclops - bad joke sorry)?
a truly beautiful knife fight
Cyclops loves wearing sunglasses at night
And we answer the question our guest asks: "Are the X-Men good guys?"
Marina Acosta is a full scope primary care nurse practitioner, specializing in polycystic ovarian syndrome and ADHD. In the Season 3 premiere, Dazzler writer and renaissance comic star Jason Loo joins our host Lodro Rinzler to talk about the corruption of Magik! 6 year-old Illyana is hanging out watching her totally safe X-Men friends play-fight each other and gets abducted into Limbo by a demon with candy in his van! She'll surely be rescued unscathed right? Right?! I mean, she's six. It will all be fine...right?!?
Also in this episode:
Kitty Pryde's sexual awakening
an inside peek at the new Dazzler series: which villains can we expect? Will Longshot be in it? How is this the most high-stakes version of Dazzler we've ever seen?
the fork in the road between Gambit and Multiple Man fandom
Nightcrawler as a pervy son of a gun
the demon Sym's first move in a fight is to take off his opponent's shirt
- Jason welcomes Swifties into Marvel
...all this and the best X-Man to go out drinking with. What does any of this have to do with Jason's future? Tune in to find out!

Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future.
Erica Schultz, comic writer extraordinaire, joins our host Lodro Rinzler for the Season 2 finale of X-Men Horoscopes!
We dive into the classic X-Men issue 105 where Jean finally figures out she's a giant cosmic bird. Eric the Red (FML that I have to explain Eric the Red) has manipulated the former herald of Galactus Firelord - basically if a matchstick took the form of a person - into taking out the X-Men and only Jean can sort of stop them!
We also get a sneak peek at Erica's new series: Laura Kinney the Wolverine, hitting stands this December.
Also in this episode:
Who is the alien Captain America?
What cause will Erica flip her own desk over to defend?
Why the new Wolverine series has an all-female creative team
Firelord is just a giant matchstick who won't stop talking about the last job he was fired from
Eric the Red is the reason Lodro drinks
Erica yells at Lodro about his categorization of New York City neighborhoods
Jean has the most expensive apartment in NYC and now her security deposit is gone
Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum fight on panel
Cyclops sees Jean's new power and is torn between "this is sexy" and "I'm terrified" and has lived there ever since
Misty Knight gets a bad break in the roommate department
This and much more in the finale of Season 2 for X-Men Horoscopes! We will be back in a few weeks with a power-packed Season 3 and, as always, thanks for listening!
